Chapter 65 The Raid Begins!

At first, the fawns can stay close to their mothers.

But as they traveled further, the fawns' curiosity began to take hold, and many fawns gradually stopped following their mothers closely.

The young fawns, participating in such a large gathering for the first time, were lively and active. They began to look curiously at their fellow fawns, and gently sniffed the fur markings they encountered along the way, which carried scents that were both familiar and unfamiliar to them.

A fawn, gradually drifting away from its mother, unknowingly fell behind as it lowered its head to sniff the markings on her fur.

With their eyes fixed on the deer herd, the predators, who had been preparing for some time, had already focused their attention on the rear of the herd, and such a tender fawn would naturally not be overlooked.

And so, the slaughter began!

With its scarlet tongue licking its lips, the swift lynx suddenly pounced, heading straight for the unsuspecting fawn.

"Yoo-woo—" A startled cry suddenly rang out, and nearby reindeer hurriedly retreated, creating distance between them.

Unable to save the young member of their kind, all they could do was raise their limbs and struggle forward.

The herd did not stop for the sake of a young life, not even for a moment. The huge herd continued to move forward steadily, like a relentless process of advancement.

Only the does nearby, hearing the fawn's cry, turned their heads slightly.

Seeing her calf close by, the doe turned back with relief; the doe who had not found her calf panicked for a moment, and then a series of deer calls rang out from the herd.

The doe followed closely behind the herd, calling out to their calves at the top of their lungs.

At that moment, the fawn's cry became a gunshot, a signal.

Seeing the lynx returning laden with a fawn by the neck, the predators who had been lying in wait could no longer contain themselves.

A powerful brown bear suddenly pounced on a robust male deer. It had been eyeing this prey for a long time; although old, the deer was still plump and strong, enough for it to feast on for several days.

Before this time of year, it will stay with the deer herd for a period of time to store up fat for winter.

Because it is good at choosing its prey, this reindeer was not only old and slower than the younger reindeer, but its antlers were also severely damaged and no longer posed much of a threat.

Even in its old age, it had become a delicacy in the eyes of many predators when it first appeared on the riverbank.

When the reindeer was tackled by the brown bear, panic flashed in its eyes, but then it looked at the herd ahead and a look of relief crossed its eyes.

Knowing full well that it might perish during this great migration, it still came.

Even when it survives and the bitter cold arrives, it still cannot escape its fate of death.

They came here hoping to use their flesh and blood to give the younger generation of their tribe a chance to survive.

As it closed its eyes, the aging reindeer showed no sadness or anger. It peacefully breathed its last breath, its nostrils slowly drooping.

The great migration of reindeer happens every year. The old reindeer are willing to repeat the mission passed down from generation to generation, follow the traditions of their bloodline and race, and complete the last journey of their lives in such a magnificent way.

"Waaah!"

"Thump thump!!"

The frantic cries of deer and the chaotic sounds of fleeing remained orderly.

The originally slow-moving reindeer herd only experienced a slight disturbance, like a small stone being thrown into a calm lake, causing gentle ripples.

The old reindeer was large enough that the brown bear could only enjoy the meal immediately, and the rest had to be given to other wild animals.

The brown bear succeeded, but this was just another victory for the predators.

Wild wolves, leopards, and other hunters also began to fight mercilessly.

The riverbank was filled with the calls of reindeer. The tiger mother squinted slightly, her hunting instincts setting her sights on her target, but reason was holding her back.

Lin Qian and Yong Qi were witnessing such a brutal battle for the first time, and the two tiger cubs were stunned.

Courage is so exciting that it makes one want to join in.

But a trace of sorrow and lamentation appeared in Lin Qian's eyes. The huge herd of deer clearly had the power to fight back and protect themselves, but they only cared about running away.

This is probably the difference between wild animals and humans.

However, this glimmer of compassion from the heart was fleeting, or rather, his compassion was not for the reindeer.

After all, he had eaten quite a lot of venison.

"Awooo!"

"Roar!"

"cracking--"

Suddenly, chaos erupted on the riverbank.

The beasts that were originally chasing their prey suddenly started fighting.

Lin Qian glanced over and saw the beasts fighting over a reindeer that had just been killed.

It was a robust adult male deer, and noticeably larger than the other male deer.

It was killed by a large pack of wolves, at least forty in number.

Unlike the small wolf packs that previously preyed on the Tiger Mother's territory, the fighting power of the large wolf pack should not be underestimated.

Under normal circumstances, wolves do not gather in large numbers in order to better survive.

But this is not a normal time. The reindeer are migrating, and there is plenty of food waiting for them to hunt, so there is no need to worry about food shortages when there are too many of them.

The stag, brutally attacked and killed by a pack of wolves, slowly emitted an incredibly alluring scent; the closer the animal was, the greater the influence.

The wildness and bloodlust in their blood were amplified to the maximum extent.

The wolves bared their fangs, showing no fear in the face of the top predators they had once feared.

The queen of the wolf pack stood at the front, surrounded by the wolves, and let out an extremely arrogant and threatening roar.

"Howl!!!" Get out! Or fight!!!

Seeing the wolf pack behaving so abnormally, and faced with the wolf queen's undisguised and arrogant threat, the beasts were enraged!

They are top-tier powerhouses; what are wild wolves compared to them?!

They are just wild beasts below them; they have never been afraid of wolves before!

Their savage bloodlust was aroused to its peak, and a battle between the beast pack and the wolf pack was about to break out!

An angry roar from a beast ignited the battle.

Even the brown bears that had just hunted their prey and were enjoying the venison were attracted by the aroma and unhesitatingly abandoned their fresh meat to join the fray.

Watching the chaotic fight among the animals, Tiger Mom's eyes flashed with doubt. In such a feast, everyone had always tacitly agreed to only hunt deer. Why would they suddenly start fighting over a piece of venison?

A gust of wind swept through the forest, and the icy gaze widened in surprise; Tiger Mom instantly stood up!

This...taste!

So familiar! Such a tempting lure!

Lin Qian and Yong Qi also smelled a sweet aroma, which was too delicious and tempting!

Courage licked his lips, let out a howl, and was about to rush out.

Fortunately, the tiger mother regained her senses and pinned the cub down with one paw.

"Aww!" Mom! There's something delicious! There's some good food over there!

Courage struggled fiercely; it smelled the delicious aroma of food! It was incredibly tempting for the tiger!

Lin Qian suppressed his physical desires and watched the fiercely fighting beasts, feeling that the sweet, bloody smell was very familiar.
