Orcas (scientific name: orus orca): are the largest species in the dolphin family of mammals.
Orcas are one of 35 species in the dolphin family that first appeared in the ocean approximately one million years ago. They are sometimes called "black whales" (ckfish), a term also used for other whale species. "Gray dolphin" (grampus) was the former name for this species, but it is rarely used now.
Orcas have conical heads and no protruding beaks.
Adult males average 8 meters in length, with a record length of 9.75 meters. Females weigh 3.8 tons, while males weigh 5.5 tons. Females average 7 meters in length, with a record length of 8.5 meters. Females are slightly smaller in average weight and weight than males. The largest female reaches 7.70 meters in length, while males reach 9 meters.

Orcas can swim up to 160 kilometers a day, with a top speed of 55 kilometers per hour, and can hold their breath for about 17 minutes.
Orcas are highly social animals with complex social structures and prefer to live in groups. They exist in small groups of 2-3 individuals, as well as large groups of 40-50 individuals, and there are even reports of groups containing hundreds of individuals, but this is only a temporary connection between smaller groups. Group members frequently keep their pectoral fins in contact, displaying affection and unity.
Some of the orcas' complex social behaviors, hunting techniques, and vocal communication are considered evidence that orcas possess their own culture.
They are carnivorous, fierce, and adept at attacking their prey, making them natural enemies of penguins, dolphins, seals, and other animals. Sometimes they even attack other whales and great white sharks, truly deserving the title of sea tyrants.
Orcas are distributed in almost all ocean areas, from the equator to polar waters, with no limitations imposed by water temperature or depth, extending into many enclosed or semi-enclosed seas. Orcas can be divided into different ecotypes based on their habitat and habits; different ecotypes of orcas differ slightly in appearance and behavior.
