Chapter 195 Snow Fox Vents Its Fury

"Whoosh!" Once again, they narrowly missed each other, the snow leopard darting away close to the snow fox's front paws.

Because of its special ability, the snow fox's attack power is not strong, but it still has a significant advantage compared to an evolved beast that is not yet a spirit beast.

Firstly, in terms of speed, the snow fox is much more agile than the snow leopard. The snow fox attacks very quickly and dodges extremely nimbly.

After a series of exchanges, the snow leopard had already sustained numerous wounds. Although it avoided fatal injuries thanks to its rich combat experience, the outcome of continuing the fight was still not optimistic.

Despite the fact that the snow leopard's physical strength is no less than that of a level one spirit beast, in actual combat, the snow leopard failed to attack the snow fox at all, thus widening the distance between them.

The snow fox's claws are extremely sharp after being tempered by spiritual energy. Although they are not as lethal as Lin Qian and the others who have claw-like abilities, they are still far superior to ordinary evolving beasts.

If the snow leopard hadn't been so agile, repeatedly dodging fatal blows, it would have been dead long ago.

The snow fox knows its own strengths and weaknesses, so it is very patient. It keeps ambushing, but never gets close enough to give the snow leopard any chance to attack it.

It didn't want to experience what it felt like to be hit by a snow leopard; its little body was quite fragile.

It wasn't that the snow fox had forgotten to use its special ability; rather, the wary snow leopard already knew how to dodge its ability and didn't even look it in the eye.

Its special ability can be both useful and ineffective. It cannot bewitch its opponent unless they make eye contact, which is why the snow fox remains extremely cautious even after becoming a spirit beast.

"Awooo~~"

As the battle below the tree became one-sided, the snow leopard cubs on the tree grew increasingly anxious. The three little ones poked their heads out, their tender paws hooking onto the branches, howling incessantly.

While the cubs boosted the snow leopard's morale, they offered no real help and instead caused the snow leopard anxiety.

The snow fox glanced at the snow leopard cub in the tree, but it did not choose to attack the cub to affect the snow leopard.

Withdrawing its gaze, the snow fox narrowed its long, narrow eyes and attacked again.

"Roar!" A snow-white claw slashed across, leaving a deep, bone-revealing wound on the snow leopard's shoulder.

"Awooooo—"

As the bloodstains on their mother's body increased, the snow leopard cub's cries became increasingly mournful.

Perhaps it's a mother's instinct, but even though they're only a little over a month old, the snow leopard cubs have a very deep dependence on their mothers.

Or perhaps they vaguely knew that they could not lose their mother, and that the young animals would soon be eaten by other wild beasts in the forest.

The snow leopard looked at the cub in the tree, its eyes filled with longing and heartache. Then, it looked at the snow fox with a fierce but weak expression, its eyes filled with confusion and frustration.

It simply couldn't understand why this snow fox was deliberately targeting it! Leopards weren't the fox's prey!

Even if this snow fox is very powerful, there's no need to hunt it for food!

The snow fox sensed the snow leopard's frustration and confusion, but it wouldn't offer any explanation.

Was it going to tell this king who once stood atop the snow-capped mountain how many of its brothers, sisters, and kin had died because of it?!

If it weren't for this snow leopard that suddenly migrated, its mother wouldn't have rushed to lead them away, nor would they have encountered a greater crisis along the way...

It's no use saying anything; this uncivilized snow leopard in front of me simply wouldn't understand!

The snow fox knew very well that there were very few animals on the snow mountain. As the king of the snow mountain, the snow leopard naturally had a top advantage and the capital to act recklessly. This was just the rule of natural survival.

But the snow fox, which used to live in ignorance, could accept it; now it cannot.

It used to live aimlessly, just to survive without thinking about anything unrealistic. But now it's all alone, with nothing but loneliness.

The snow fox narrowed its eyes slightly; it wasn't seeking revenge, it just wanted to vent its anger!

Seeing the fox's eyes no longer filled with mockery, the snow leopard's heart tightened. The snow leopard stared intently at the fox, wary of any attack. It didn't know what the fox was remembering, nor did it know that the fox before it had once lived on the same mountain.

After all, how could a snow leopard, as the king of the pack, remember its prey, especially when that prey was a cub?

Even if they knew the reason, the snow leopard wouldn't think it had done anything wrong. In the forest, the strong rule and the weak are prey!

Just like it was in the past and it is now, when it was stronger than the fox, it was a predator; when it was weaker than the fox, it was food.

Just as the snow fox had thought, its attack was not revenge, but merely venting its anger and the frustration of being weak and helpless in the past.

The snow leopard knew that this was a battle to the death, and it had no way out!

At this moment, it no longer thinks about why, about life in the forest.

The struggle between hand and beast has never had a reason!

"Aww—"

A deep growl drowned out the childish howls from the treetops, and the snow leopard's spiritual energy surged continuously. Sensing the change in the snow leopard's aura, the snow fox no longer paused and attacked again.

"Sizzle!" A crisp sound rang out.

The snow fox stared in astonishment at the back of its snow-white paw, where a bright red mark was visible.

Behind the snow fox, a crystal-clear ice shard was stuck in the ground. It was this tiny, fingernail-sized piece of ice that had injured its paw.
