Chapter 2: Go to work

Lin Chaoyu cried, "Brother, I'm only nine years old! How can I go to the fields?"

Lin Chaoyang glanced at her impatiently and said, "Aunt Zhang's Erya is one year younger than you. She has been working in the mountains to pick grass for pigs this year."

Thinking of this, Lin Chaoyang felt that he was ridiculously stupid in his previous life.

Other children who have both parents would go to work to supplement their family income, but these children in my family just eat free meals at home.

Lin Chaoyu was choked by his elder brother's words. He didn't know what else to say to get out of going to work, so he just squatted aside angrily and didn't say anything.

Seeing Lin Chaoyang's attitude, the other two sisters had no choice but to shut up and agreed obediently.

In their opinion, the eldest brother was the softest-hearted one, and he only said that because he was angry.

When we go to work, my brother will see how much we suffer and will not want us to continue working.

The matter of going to work was settled, and Lin Chaoyang didn't want to talk to them any more, so he took his younger brother back to the room.

Before returning to the room, he did not forget to take away the remaining two pieces of cake.

Lin Chaoyang had no intention of eating the two cakes. He gave one to Lin Chaoxing and put the remaining one away.

Although there is a supermarket, we still have to get some food to pretend.

And judging by the current temperature and the clothes I'm wearing, I guess it's spring now, the season when there's a shortage of food.

There probably wasn't much food left at home, otherwise Lin Chaoyu wouldn't have come to ask for food in the first place.

There is still some time from spring to summer harvest.

I will definitely not go hungry, but the ungrateful people at home will probably suffer.

In his previous life, Lin Chaoyang would be as anxious as an ant on a hot pan.

But at this time, Lin Chaoyang was not in a hurry at all. He had survived in his previous life, so why should he be afraid that they would starve to death in this life?

If we are really hungry, we will go to the mountains to find food by ourselves.

Digging some wild vegetables and cooking some wild vegetable soup can give you a break and prevent you from starving to death.

Lin Chaoyang looked down at Lin Chaoxing, who was holding the cake obediently and eating it in small bites, and sighed again.

The things in the supermarket are for yourself, and the things at home should be for my little brother as much as possible.

Who cares whether those ungrateful wolves will eat it or not?

After eating two pancakes, little Lin Chaoxing was full and fell asleep contentedly in Lin Chaoyang's arms.

While 놛 was asleep, Lin Chaoyang sneaked into the supermarket again, ate his fill, then came out and fell asleep with 놛.

Early the next morning, just as the sky was getting light, Lin Chaoyang gathered up Lin Chaoyun and the others.

"Everyone, get up, clean up and go to work!"

Seeing that his attitude was as bad as yesterday, the three younger brothers and sisters dared not speak out and climbed up feeling aggrieved.

After settling Lin Chaoxing down, Lin Chaoyang set off with his three younger siblings.

There was no more food left at home, and we didn't even have a sip of porridge to drink in the morning. We just drank two sips of cold water and went out.

Of course, this is the situation of the three younger siblings. Lin Chaoyang will not let himself go hungry.

They had already eaten and drunk their fill before we got up, and they even left the last piece of bread for my younger brother.

Along the way, the three brothers and sisters looked listless, rubbing their bellies from time to time, looking quite pitiful.

When he arrived at the workplace, Uncle Lin saw several nephews and nieces at a glance.

The eldest came over, glanced at the younger ones, and asked, "Yang, why did you bring us here?"

Lin Chaoyang looked helpless, "Uncle, we have grown up. With the current situation at home, we should earn as much as we can. We can't starve to death."

The three younger brothers and sisters came and looked at their second uncle eagerly, hoping that their second uncle could speak to them and let them go home.

As a result, Uncle Lin nodded and praised Lin Chaoyang's words.

"Yang, just think it through. Second uncle has been wanting to tell you. Life is tough right now. It's not easy for you to feed so many mouths on your own."

Lin Chaoyang glanced at his brothers and sisters who had become listless again, and smiled faintly.

"Fortunately, they are all grown up. They can earn two jobs by cutting grass for pigs, and they can also find wild vegetables in the mountains to eat. They won't starve to death, don't worry, uncle."

Uncle Lin wanted to say something, but Lin Chaoyang quickly said, "Uncle's family is not easy either. Don't send us food in the future. We can take care of ourselves."

Hearing this, Uncle Lin felt somewhat relieved and somewhat sad.

Yang is a really good kid. He even thinks about the difficulties of his second uncle.

If my eldest brother and his wife were still alive, we wouldn't have to live such a hard life.

But in the hearts of Lin Chaoyun and others, there were huge waves.

Is my brother stupid? You don’t even want the things your second uncle sends to your family?

You're already hungry when you come here, and you're pushing away your second uncle's food?

Sanji is still young, he can't hide things, his thoughts are all written on his face.

Lin Chaoyang caught a glimpse of the expressions of the three of them and sneered in his heart.

Three vampires, and they want to suck the blood of my second uncle?

Dream on!

Soon, the team leader arrived, spoke briefly, and then began to arrange work.

Lin Chaoyang is eighty years old. He has been working in the fields since he was a teenager, and now he is considered a serious laborer.

But the captain took into consideration that 놛 was not strong enough, so he assigned 놛 the task of weeding.

The two girls, Lin Chaoyun and Lin Chaoxia, were assigned the job of collecting grass for pigs.

The youngest, Lin Chaoyu, was assigned to herd cattle, which was considered the easiest job.

Weeding is not hard work but it is delicate and the wages are not low, one person has one hour of labor, while cutting grass for pigs is two hours, and herding cattle is one and a half hours.

All in all, the Lin family could get half a wage each, which was half a wage more than the full wage of a strong laborer.

Before going to work, Lin Chaoyang reminded the two sisters, "Don't forget to dig more wild vegetables when you go up the mountain. You can have wild vegetable soup in the afternoon."

Hearing this, the two sisters, who had come home hungry with their stomachs growling, looked even uglier.

Lin Chaoyang didn't care about the two of them and went to the field with a hoe.

Having been used to doing farm work in his previous life, Lin Chaoyang did not feel uncomfortable doing farm work again and did it in an efficient manner.

Feeling such a young and healthy body, Lin Chaoyang just felt very happy.

After a full meal in the morning, my hands are full of energy and I don’t feel tired at all when I work.

After working in the fields for half an hour, Lin Chaoyang took the opportunity to go to the toilet, hid in the bushes, and had a meal for himself.

After a snack and some work, it was time to get off work.

Lin Chaoyang put away the hoe and walked back home leisurely.

When I got home, the wild vegetable soup was already cooked.

The three younger brothers and sisters were extremely hungry, and they couldn't wait for Lin Chaoyang to come back, so they drank bowl after bowl.

Lin Chaoyang didn't bother with them. He filled a big bowl, picked up a lot of wild vegetables, and turned away.

Looking at the big bowl of green wild vegetable soup, Lin Chaoyang couldn't bear it, so he secretly took some rice noodles and put them into the soup.

Lin Chaoxing was young and didn't suspect anything. Seeing that his elder brother had some in his hand, he just started eating.

After finishing the wild vegetable rice porridge, Lin Chaoyang took the bowl to the kitchen and threw it directly in front of Lin Chaoyun.

"Hurry up and wash the dishes. Don't waste water. Once you're done, it's time to go to work."

Lin Chaoyun felt extremely aggrieved instantly. How could her brother become like this?
