Hua Tuo, from the medical school, came outside and stared intently at the boys running further and further away. Recently, fewer and fewer of the Imperial Guard boys had been getting injured, and Hua Tuo felt that his hands were becoming a little rusty.
Before long, the Imperial Guard trainees ran to the outskirts of Luoyang City and stopped in front of a wide road.
This road was specially modified for training these teenagers; it was their nightmare.
"Now, three groups will be formed into a team, and they will enter in batches to begin training!"
As Xu Rong finished speaking, the trainees in the first, second, and third groups lined up horizontally and ran forward.
"Second team, begin!"
And so, in order, everyone began the obstacle course training.
The road was muddy and slippery, and every step the trainees took splashed up a lot of mud and water, making everyone look disheveled.
But no one cared, because this was just the beginning.
Soon the group arrived at the second section and saw several low wooden railings across the middle of the road.
Without hesitation, the trainees in front lay down on the muddy ground and began to crawl forward.
Everyone's face and body were covered in mud and water, making their features unrecognizable. Only their bright black eyes remained fixed on the distance ahead as they continued forward.
They either jumped over puddles or grabbed poles to move forward.
"Quickly, speed it up!"
Xu Rong, who was behind the group, kept urging them on.
"His Majesty said that young people should be strong and courageous. How can you slow-moving youths live up to His Majesty's expectations?"
Upon hearing this, the crowd quickened their pace, and some of them fell or stumbled.
Yuan Shao led his team to a barrier wall made of wooden planks.
Yuan Shao strode forward and leaped up, grabbing the wall with both hands and pushing off with his feet, soaring smoothly to the top of the wall.
"Mengde!"
Yuan Shao, atop the wall, looked down at Cao Cao. Cao Cao nodded, grabbed one of Yuan Shao's outstretched arms, and then leaped up. With both of them exerting force, Cao Cao successfully reached the top of the wall as well.
"Xuande, come up here quickly!"
After pulling Cao Cao up, Yuan Shao looked down at Liu Bei again.
With the help of Yuan Shao and his two companions, the students in the same group quickly scaled the wooden wall.
"Let's go down too!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Yuan Shao was the first to jump off the wooden wall, and Liu Bei followed closely behind.
Cao Cao was about to go down when suddenly his muddy left hand slipped, and he fell downwards.
"Mengde!!!"
Upon seeing this, Yuan Shao shouted and rushed forward, barely managing to catch Cao Cao. Cao Cao's arms involuntarily wrapped around Yuan Shao's neck.
"Damn, the world is going to the dogs!"
Seeing Cao Cao being carried horizontally in Yuan Shao's arms, Wen Chou from another group couldn't help but make a comment.
The others also noticed this scene and gave the two of them strange looks.
"Uh~"
Yuan Shao was somewhat taken aback. "I'm saving people, how come the world is going to the dogs?"
"Cough cough, Benchu, put me down quickly!!"
Cao Cao coughed awkwardly twice.
"ah?"
Yuan Shao then realized what was happening, hurriedly put Cao Cao down from his arms, and the two ran forward.
