Chapter 22 Dong Zhuo of Xiliang

Guo Si, who was watching the battle from the city wall, rubbed his eyes hard, seemingly unable to believe what was happening before his eyes.

Guo Si then ordered the city gates to be opened wide to welcome the victorious army into the city.

“Zhong Ying is truly a fierce general. With just one charge, he utterly defeated the Qiang people and even captured their chieftain alive. He truly deserves to be called the number one warrior of Xiliang.”

Guo Si couldn't help but admire the Qiang leader that Dong Zhuo was carrying under his arm.

"Haha, it's nothing!" Dong Zhuo glanced at the Qiang leader he had captured alive: "If they hadn't thrown themselves into disarray, it probably wouldn't have been so easy for me to capture this fellow alive."

Dong Zhuo then handed the Qiang leader over to his personal guards and returned to the city with Guo Si.

Soon, the military clerk reported the battle results to the two men: "Reporting to the general, in this battle our army beheaded more than 700 enemy soldiers, captured 2,000, and seized 3,000 warhorses. Our casualties were no more than 50!"

"Good, report the results of this battle to the Emperor and General Duan. All the soldiers will be rewarded." Dong Zhuo waved his hand excitedly, then looked at the military commander with a solemn expression: "Record two heads for each of the brothers who died in battle. Do not miss a single one."

"General, rest assured, I have made all the arrangements."

Dong Zhuo nodded in satisfaction. "Alright, you may leave now."

"promise!"

Thinking of the captured Qiang people, Guo Si looked at Dong Zhuo with some worry, "Zhongying, our army is currently short of food supplies. I wonder what to do with these prisoners?"

"Yes, this is indeed a big problem!"

Dong Zhuo was at a loss for what to do. Keeping them around would be useless, as they would consume their food and require guards. Releasing them would be like releasing a tiger back into the mountains.

"How about we just bury them alive?"

Upon hearing Dong Zhuo's words, Guo Si was shocked and quickly stopped him, saying, "No, this will only incite hatred among the Qiang people, causing those who originally wanted to surrender to rise up in resistance. At that time, it will be even more difficult to defeat the Qiang people."

"Then what do you suggest we do?"

"Why not let them go back... and then use a feigned attack!"

Guo Si then whispered a few words to Dong Zhuo, who looked at him with surprise: "I didn't expect you to have so many tricks up your sleeve."
