To the horror of the Northern Wuhuan cavalry, a thousand herdsmen wielding bows and arrows suddenly appeared behind the cart, followed by thousands of whistling arrows.
In an instant, hundreds of cavalrymen charging ahead were struck by arrows, screaming as they fell from their horses. Even the leader of the charge had more than a dozen arrows stuck in his chest, his eyes wide open as he fell from his horse and died instantly.
As he lay dying, one sentence echoed in his mind: This is no ordinary herdsman!
Before the Northern Wuhuan cavalry could react, the Han soldiers in the third and fourth ranks rose again, pulled their bowstrings, and another thousand arrows whistled towards the Northern Wuhuan cavalry, followed by the soldiers in the fifth and sixth ranks.

In just three breaths, more than two hundred people were killed and more than one hundred were seriously injured, and almost every one of them had at least three arrows stuck in their bodies.
In a single encounter, casualties were inflicted on both cities, including their dead chieftains. The Northern Wuhuan soldiers at the rear of the column were so horrified that they pulled on their reins, abruptly halting their charge.
The arrows embedded in the bodies of the dead, along with the agonizing cries of the seriously wounded, relentlessly assaulted their senses.
Just as they were slightly stunned, the Han soldiers in the first and second rows behind Huangfu Song stood up again, drew their bows and nocked arrows, followed by the third and fourth rows, and finally the fifth and sixth rows. Three thousand sharp arrows once again whistled towards them.
As his pupils widened, the arrows, whistling through the air, arrived as expected. "Thud thud thud!!" With a series of sharp sounds as blades pierced flesh, the four hundred cavalrymen in front were hit by arrows and fell from their horses. Even many of the warhorses beneath them were not spared.
"Run!!"
Someone shouted, and the cavalry of the Northern Wuhuan reacted, scrambling to turn their horses around and flee. The terrifyingly dense arrow formation had completely shattered their courage.
