As he spoke, the young Taoist boy turned and ran into the hall.
"No need, let's go inside and take a look!"
Jian Shuo called out to the young Taoist boy, and then strode towards the main hall.
"Huh? Why does this character look so familiar?"
Upon arriving at the palace, Jian Shuo looked up at the horizontal plaque above the palace gate and stopped in his tracks.
“Attendant Jian, these three characters ‘Tiande Hall’ are His Majesty’s own handwriting!” a young eunuch said with a laugh.
"Oh, no wonder seeing these three words evoked a sense of overwhelming divine grace; it turns out they came from His Majesty's hand!"
Upon hearing the young eunuch explain the origin of those three words, Jian Shuo murmured, unable to conceal his reverence.
Seeing this, the eunuch standing to the side couldn't help but have an idea. No wonder these people could become the emperor's favorites; their skill in flattering him at any time was something he could learn from.
Ignoring the young eunuch's thoughts, Jian Shuo immediately stepped into the Tiande Hall.
Upon entering the hall, one sees a row of tables set up directly in front of the entrance, with various fruits and vegetables placed on top. Behind the tables, instead of the statues one might expect, there is a huge mural.
"That is...?"
Jian Shuo was stunned for a moment when he saw the mural.
“Jian Changshi, that’s a portrait of Taiyi, the supreme deity of Taoism!”
The young Taoist priest explained.
"oh!"
Jian Shuo nodded and couldn't help but look up.
The mural, about four meters long and nearly three meters wide, depicts a middle-aged man in a Taoist robe with a kind face and slightly closed eyes, sitting cross-legged on a cloud.
The man was surrounded by rings of purple light, exuding nobility and solemnity. His Taoist robe on his chest was painted with star maps, as if he had the idea of having the universe in his heart.
"Tsk tsk tsk, this painting is really good, but... why does this Taiyi look a little familiar to me?"
Looking at the portrait of Taiyi on the wall, Jian Shuo praised it while asking a question.
