Chapter 85 Hua Tuo's Thoughts

In a bright and spacious room, physicians such as Zhang Bozu and Zhang Zhongjing, along with a dozen or so students from the Imperial Academy dispatched by Liu Hong, began grading the examination papers.

Zhang Rang and Zhao Zhong were also among them. Since Zhang Bozu provided the answers, they only needed to compare them. They would circle the correct answers and cross the incorrect ones, so grading the papers was not difficult for them.

While Zhang Rang and Zhao Zhong were marking the names of the examiners with crosses and circles, their focus was entirely on the names of the examiners at the end, hoping to find the Hua Tuo that the emperor had been longing for.

After flipping through about twenty exam papers, Zhang Rang felt a little irritated. He would occasionally glance at Zhao Zhong on the other side, afraid that Zhao Zhong would find Hua Tuo before him.

When only one exam paper remained on his desk, Zhang Rang's heart sank. He feared he had no chance. He sighed inwardly and noticed that Zhao Zhong hadn't found it either. This gave Zhang Rang a slight sense of relief. Since neither of them had found it, they could only wait for the second round.

Zhang Rang then began to review the last exam paper. After all, it was a task assigned by the emperor, and even if they hadn't found Hua Tuo, they dared not be negligent in the matter at hand.

One circle, two circles, three circles,...

"Huh?"

At this moment, Zhang Rang couldn't help but exclaim in surprise. He had reviewed so many exam papers, and almost all of the second and fifth questions were either wrong or blank. But this last one was completely correct. This person's medical skills must be extraordinary. Even if he wasn't Hua Tuo, he was still a master. His Majesty would be very happy to know this.

Thinking of this, Zhang Rang hurriedly looked at the end of the exam paper to see who it was. When he saw the words "Hua Tuo" at the end, Zhang Rang almost exclaimed in surprise.

Looking around and finding that no one had noticed his unusual behavior, he happily circled all of Hua Tuo's test papers, placed them together with the already graded papers, and then quietly got up and left, hurrying towards the palace.

Zhao Zhong, who was standing to the side, did not notice Zhang Rang's departure because he also had a perfect score test paper in his hand. Although the name at the end was not Hua Tuo, Zhao Zhong was convinced that this person must also be very skilled in medicine.

After carefully grading the exam papers, Zhao Zhong was about to get up to report his findings to the emperor when he realized that Zhang Rang had disappeared.

Zhao Zhongxin knew something was wrong and quickly went to the door to ask the two guards.

"Where is Zhang Changshi?"

The guard replied, "Zhang Changshi just went out. He seemed to be in a hurry; he started running as soon as he stepped out of the room."

"Oh no!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Zhao Zhong took off running towards the palace.
