Chapter 32 The Closest "My heart is cold."
The tour came to a northern city. After the performance, the band's guitarist Xiang Wen said he would take them to a delicious local restaurant. Coincidentally, he was a local.
The band has always had a good relationship with them. The one who communicates the most is Xiang Wen. Li Xi sometimes asks him for advice. He is also enthusiastic and easy to get along with. Gradually, he became familiar with other people in the band.
They booked a private room and the food was served quickly. Everyone, including assistants and staff, sat around a large table. Tang Ruining put down his chopsticks after eating a few bites. Li Xi turned his head and asked him, "Is it not to your liking?"
Tang Ruining shook his head: "I'm not hungry."
"Have some soup, it's delicious." Li Xi served him a bowl. Tang Ruining drank a few sips and then took a break. He grabbed Li Xi's hand and fiddled with it as if he was bored.
Li Xi looked around and saw that no one noticed the movement under the table, so he just let Tang Ruining play.
On the first night of the performance, Li Xi didn't let Tang Ruining come and sleep with him, fearing that it would affect his condition the next day. Tang Ruining was not very happy about it and said that he would not do anything but sleep. But Li Xi was very insistent on this point, saying that they should each have a good rest, ensure that they have enough energy, and not affect each other. Tang Ruining had no choice but to give up. So today, when they were preparing backstage, Tang Ruining pulled him to the corner to kiss, and there was a staff member behind the wall at the corner. Li Xi didn't dare to say anything. He had already put on his performance clothes but hadn't finished putting on his makeup. Tang Ruining didn't hug him too tightly for fear of wrinkling his clothes. She was very tactful and only held his lower back lightly. With her other hand, she pinched his chin and seemed to be kissing him very restrainedly.
The voices of the staff not far away seemed to be right next to her ears. While Li Xi was dealing with her resentful boyfriend, her attention was actually on the side, fearing that the staff would walk towards them.
Tang Ruining pinched his waist lightly, causing him to almost cry out. He held back and glared at Tang Ruining.
Tang Ruining asked him with his mouth: "What are you thinking about?"
Li Xi leaned close to his ear and said, "I think you are a petty person."
Tang Ruining nodded in approval.
Then she said to his ears, which were already decorated with beautiful earrings, "The best way to keep me energetic for the performance is this. You have to let me kiss you at any time."
Li Xi's ears felt a little hot, and she didn't know what to say. She gently pushed Tang Ruining and said, "It's time to go back and put on makeup."
When we walked to the extension stage during the performance, some fans would throw things onto the stage. Large items like light boards were not allowed to be brought in, so some fans would throw small dolls up, and some even threw flowers. Tang Ruining usually wouldn't pick up things on the stage, but today he found a flower on the edge of the stage. It was a pink and orange rose with full petals. He bent down to pick it up, held it in his hand, walked all the way back to the main stage, and then gave it to Jiang Yilan.
Li Xi was interacting with fans on the other side of the stage at that time and did not notice the person coming behind him. Tang Ruining did not call him, but just stood behind him, waiting patiently for him to finish interacting with the fans. At this time, the fans in the audience who saw this scene were already shouting like crazy. Li Xi turned around and the first thing he saw was the rose held in front of him, and then he saw the person behind the rose.
Li Xi was startled and asked, "Is it for me?"
"right."
Li Xi took it generously and smiled brightly, "Thank you!"
There are often small dramas between members during performances. At this time, it is best to be calm and not show any guilt. After he took the flower, he kissed the petals.
Tang Ruining thought of this and pinched his fingers under the table again. He didn't control his strength enough and it hurt. Li Xi turned to look at him.
There was pure confusion on his face, without any dissatisfaction at being hurt.
So Tang Ruining wanted to kiss him again, right now. He doesn't care who sees it, or what anyone thinks or says. But Jiang Yilan cares, so he can't do that.
The two of them didn't notice what they were talking about at the table, Xiang Wen suddenly called Jiang Yilan's name, "But Yilan wants to learn to play the drums, hahahaha."
Li Xi suddenly came back to his senses, pulled his hand away from Tang Ruining, glanced at the person next to Xiang Wen, and responded, "Yeah, Brother Wei is so handsome when he plays the drums."
Xiang Wen: "Of course, he is so charming. Your brother Wei used to charm a lot of men and women just by playing the drums."
After several rounds of conversation, Tang Ruining finally realized who "Brother Wei" was.
The drummer in the band was usually called Jackie by everyone. After a long time, Tang Ruining couldn't even remember his Chinese name.
He was sitting next to Xiang Wen, and as he listened to what Xiang Wen said he tugged at his sleeve, feeling embarrassed by the praise and asking him to stop talking. He has a delicate appearance, which is not unforgettable at first sight, but he looks quite handsome when playing the drums. He is usually not talkative and is a bit shy, but when he gets into the music, he has his own aura, which is a strong contrast.
Xiang Wen continued, "Yilan didn't come to see me later. He went to see Brother Wei to watch him play the drums."
Tang Ruining stopped peeling shrimp for Li Xi and looked up at the quiet drummer whom he was not familiar with. It seemed like Tang Ruining was taking a close look at this man's appearance for the first time. He was a little older than all of them, but his face looked very young, and he had the clean temperament of someone who truly loved music.
He looked a little shy, but said to Jiang Yilan in a gentle voice: "It's actually not difficult to get started. If you want to learn, I can teach you."
Jiang Yilan smiled beside him: "Okay."
What is his last name? Wei?
There are very few people around me with the surname Wei, and Tang Ruining can only think of one with the character "禾" in the upper left corner.
The band has changed members several times, but the guitarist and drummer have been with them all these years and cooperate with them very well, even though Tang Ruining has never had any dealings with them other than work.
Jiang Yilan has been practicing guitar since he lost his memory, so he is familiar with Xiang Wen, but Tang Ruining doesn't know that he is also familiar with Jackie.
Tang Ruining turned his head slowly. Jiang Yilan looked very happy, but he didn't know why.
"Yilan." Tang Ruining called him.
"Hmm?" He turned his head and responded, the smile on his face still there.
After a moment of silence, Tang Ruining put the shrimps he had peeled into his bowl, "Nothing, just some shrimps."
Tang Ruining didn't say much until the end of the dinner.
He silently peeled the whole plate of shrimps by himself. When Li Xi told him not to peel them if he didn't want to eat them, he acted as if he didn't hear her. After a long delay, he said, "It's okay. It doesn't matter if you don't want to eat them." He also said, "I'm peeling mine, not asking you to finish them."
When I left the restaurant, I found that it was snowing outside and there was a thin layer of snow on the ground.
Li Wei raised his head in a daze. The last time he saw snow was the night he "died".
The snow wasn't heavy that night, just a few drops, but it was very cold. Li Xi remembered that he was shivering with cold as he walked on the street. He walked quickly because he wanted to get back to the dormitory as soon as possible. If his eyes had not been attracted by the shops on the roadside, he would not have stopped.
If nothing had happened, what would he be like now?
The snow in the north was much heavier and fell more densely, and the flakes fell on his raised face and quickly melted into water. The assistant asked them to get in the car quickly. Li Xi was still thinking about something. Tang Ruining led him to the car and stared at his eyelashes wet by the melting snow. After a while, he asked, "What are you thinking about?"
Li Xi blinked and said, "I think time flies by so fast."
Tang Ruining looked unconvinced, but didn't say much. He raised his hand and rubbed his slightly damp bangs.
"Why are your hands so cold?" Li Xi grabbed his hand and held it in his.
Tang Ruining pursed his lips and said half-truthfully, "My heart is chilled."
"What's the matter?" Li Wei smiled and held his hands tightly, rubbing them together. "If your hands are cold, I can warm them for you, but if your heart is cold, there's nothing I can do."
The heat came from his palm. Tang Ruining looked at his lowered eyes and said, "Who else can help except you?"
When we arrived at the hotel, we went back to our own rooms. Li Xi took a shower, watched the snow on the windowsill for a while, and sent a WeChat message to Tang Ruining to ask him when he would come over.
Tang Ruining didn't reply, but came over and knocked on the door. He was wearing a bathrobe and holding a bag in his hand. He walked in, put his arm around the person and kissed her. Li Wei asked him what he brought, but Tang Ruining didn't answer and put the things on the cabinet at the door.
I could sense that Tang Ruining was in a bad mood during the meal, but it was inconvenient to ask him in detail at that time. Li Wei hugged him and asked now, "What happened?"
Tang Ruining just looked at him quietly. Li Wei didn't rush for his answer and waited patiently for him to speak.
They always can't wait to hug and kiss at the door of the room. There is only one spotlight on the ceiling of the entrance, which can't clearly illuminate the faces of the people in front of them.
"Let's do it."
Li Xi paused, not knowing where to put her arms around him. After a long pause, she said, "Now?"
"Um."
"But, the things we need are not prepared..."
"Yes." Tang Ruining tilted his head and motioned him to look at the plastic bag on the cabinet. "That's the bag I brought in."
The light from the ceiling lamp fell straight down, turning Li Xi's eyelashes into gold. They trembled slightly for a few times. Tang Ruining asked him, "Don't you want to?"
Li Xi quickly shook her head, her hands that were about to fall down climbed onto his back again: "No."
It's not that he doesn't want to, but in Li Xi's mind, this kind of thing should happen naturally, so why did it happen so suddenly? The reason Tang Ruining seemed to be acting strange during the dinner couldn't be because he was suddenly thinking about this matter.
He still felt something was strange, but after Tang Ruining got his negative answer, he didn't give him too much time to think. He took him to the bed, not forgetting to pick up the bag.
…
The snow was still falling outside the window, but the temperature in the room was getting higher and higher. Li Xi touched his sweaty face. His thoughts returned, still thinking about what they had not finished saying. He asked softly, "So what happened?"
"Nothing." Tang Ruining answered in a low voice, sounding very tired. But his expression seemed to have achieved some kind of goal, and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly, "It's just that doing something like this will make two people closer, right?"
Tang Ruining hugged his neck and pecked his lips lightly, "I want to be closer to you, the closest...that's all."
