Chapter Twenty-Four: Dislikes Sitting Together

Yi Chenli didn't turn around. He sat alone in his seat, while the others kept their distance from him.

An Yuan'er secretly observed him. He had grown another year older, and his profile was becoming more angular. He was wearing a black and gold brocade robe, holding a book in his hand, quietly flipping through it. His expression was indifferent, adding a touch of coldness and aloofness to his handsome appearance.

At this moment, Grand Tutor An also walked in. Every year, the first lesson at the Royal Academy was taught by Grand Tutor An.

When Grand Tutor An arrived, he noticed that his granddaughter hadn't found a seat yet.

He remained calm and said without showing any emotion, "This student, please don't keep everyone in vain. Find a seat."

An Yuan'er bowed to the Grand Tutor and loudly replied, "Yes!"

Then, with her short legs, she ran quickly to the first row.

An Yuan'er put her book bag on the table, shifted her position, and squeezed Yi Chenli into the seat inside.

From beginning to end, she never asked Yi Chenli for his consent, because that way, he had no chance to refuse.

Yi Chenli never expected that Yuan Gun Gun would be so bold.

As soon as she sat down next to Yi Chenli, whispers began to circulate among the people below.

[An Yuan'er must have had a fever that damaged his brain. Look, he actually sat next to that madman Yi Chenli.]

The Fifth Prince, displeased, recalled the snowball fight from a year ago. With both old and new grudges, he gritted his teeth and said to An Piao'er sitting beside him, "What's wrong with your sister? Doesn't she know how to treat Yi Chenli well? Is she just going against me?"

An Piao'er said innocently, "My younger sister and I have never gotten along since we were little. The Sixth Prince is mentally ill, and her getting close to him might..."

An Piao'er hesitated at just the right moment.

The others immediately made the connection: "Madness is contagious. It seems we'll have to avoid your sister from now on. My mother originally said that An Yuan'er is a lucky charm and that I should play with her more often to share in her good fortune. But now it seems that's absolutely out of the question."

An Piao'er said with difficulty, "Although my sister and I don't get along, she is still my sister. We can't isolate her, can we?"

The Fifth Prince spoke directly: "Piao'er, I know you are kind, but your sister has opposed me more than once or twice. She chose her own path, so she can't blame me."

An Piao'er could only nod with difficulty: "I beg Your Highness to go easy on me when you strike."

"Hmm!" the Fifth Prince responded. He was a little annoyed. He was no better than his disabled younger brother in any way. What was wrong with this An Yuan'er?

Yi Chenli had sharp ears and could hear clearly what the people behind him were saying.

He glanced at the carefree little girl who was smiling at him and frowned.

Giving up the adored status of a Fuwa mascot and choosing to become a madman?

Round and chubby, it's been a year, and you still haven't become smarter.

He suddenly got angry, picked up An Yuan'er's book bag, and said in an unfriendly tone, "I don't like sitting with people."

There were still some people left behind, and An Yuan'er wanted to change her position; she had many other options.

Yi Chenli was urging her to leave, and An Yuan'er said aggrievedly, "But I'm so short, I can't see anything when I sit in the back."

"My father said that friends should help each other when they are in trouble."

"Yi Chenli, we're friends now, aren't we?"

Looking at the pitiful little face in front of him, Yi Chenli couldn't bear to refute her because what she said made so much sense.

Moreover, a voice inside Yi Chenli was screaming, "You actually want to sit with her too, don't you?"
