For the past two years, this place has been like a secluded paradise. Even the path leading to the flower house where An Yuan'er lives is winding and twisting.
Moreover, Lan Jingtang has also kept small venomous snakes at the entrance of the forest, so even if someone wanted to break in, they might not survive.
For the past two years, it has been the small animals that have been playing with An Yuan'er. The only living person An Yuan'er has seen is Lan Jingtang.
However, Lan Jingtang didn't come often. Gu Chuzhi was very keen on finding An Yuan'er's whereabouts and often followed and monitored Lan Jingtang. In order not to expose An Yuan'er's whereabouts, Lan Jingtang reduced the number of times he went to see An Yuan'er.
So for the past two years, An Yuan'er has lived independently.
The deserted forest boasts the clearest water, the most beautiful scenery, and the cutest little animals; as far as the eye can see, everything is lush and green. In order to survive, An Yuan'er transforms from a pampered young lady into a girl who can chop wood, cook, and do laundry on her own, without needing anyone to wait on her.
Although life is much harder now than before, there are no complicated human struggles. Just living a simple life has made An Yuan'er feel much more relaxed, and she has more smiles on her face.
Lan Jingtang found a suitable place for An Yuan'er to heal her wounds, a place she also liked.
In her peaceful and tranquil life, An Yuan'er devoted herself to medical practice. She occasionally discovered that a mixture of several herbs could stimulate the recovery of the sense of taste. After two years of effort, Lan Jingtang's lost sense of taste returned with the help of this special herb.
Although this is nothing compared to the help Lan Jingtang has given An Yuan'er, it allows An Yuan'er to repay a little of Lan Jingtang's kindness, which makes An Yuan'er feel a little better.
But two years of peace were unexpectedly shattered.
Every morning, An Yuan'er would go to pick herbs as usual. But lately, whenever she went out, the flower shed in front of her house was always neatly filled with fresh herbs.
An Yuan'er carefully examined the herbs, and found that they were all the herbs she picked every day, now safely stored in the basket.
Picking herbs every day requires climbing mountains and carefully gathering them, and An Yuan'er is always exhausted when she comes back.
Now it's much easier.
However, An Yuan'er cautiously looked around, thinking, "How could a pie fall from the sky for no reason?"
Who is it?
"come out."
After calling out for a long time, only the frozen air answered An Yuan'er.
Wasting herbs is shameful, so An Yuan'er took the herbs and put them back in the pharmacy.
"Coo coo".
An Yuan'er's stomach growled at an inopportune moment, and she got up and went into the kitchen. As soon as she entered, she smelled the aroma of food.
An Yuan'er quickened her pace and went over. In the kitchen, there were still prepared porridge dishes.
Since it was breakfast, the porridge was quite light, but the side dishes and delicate desserts served with it were all things An Yuan'er loved.
Moreover, all of these are things that don't exist in the forest; you have to go out to buy them to eat.
Having not had any delicious desserts outside for a long time, An Yuan'er shamelessly started drooling.
An Yuan'er sat down at the dining table, and out of caution, she picked up a silver needle to taste the dishes.
None of these are poisonous.
An Yuan'er shouted into the air, "I really want to eat it!"
"If you don't come out, I'll take that as your agreement."
An Yuan'er maintained a token restraint for a moment, but ultimately couldn't resist the temptation of the food. She picked up her chopsticks and began to eat heartily.
It smells so good! This peach blossom pastry tastes just like it always has.
