Chapter 428: Starting to Lie?

Knowing he was in the wrong, An Yuan'er remained silent and followed An Chaoli back to his tent.

On the way back, she would occasionally look around. With such a commotion, she wondered if Ali had noticed it.

She carefully considered wanting to see Yi Chenli.

We arrived at the camp.

"Go change into some normal clothes and freshen up." An Chaoli's face was terrible. An Yuan'er's hair was disheveled and her clothes were wrinkled. The old father was terrified by his daughter's audacity and felt a chill run down his spine.

He couldn't imagine how heartbroken he, as a father, would be if his daughter were truly defiled by the other party.

An Yuan'er was very obedient. She changed into clean clothes and went to wash up. However, when she washed her hands, An Yuan'er rubbed them until they were red and even felt like she was rubbing off a layer of skin.

An Yuan'er felt extremely disgusted after being touched by that lewd hand.

When An Yuan'er came out, she saw An Chaoli smoking a pipe.

The dark circles under her eyes gradually turned upwards, blurring her vision.

My father doesn't like smoking; he only smokes occasionally when he's feeling anxious or agitated.

An Yuan'er walked over quietly, obediently picked up a small stool, sat down next to An Chaoli, and called out, "Daddy."

Although in public, An Chaoli severely punished Long San and did not hold An Yuan'er accountable, he could not possibly ignore the matter afterward.

An Chaoli stared coldly at An Yuan'er: "Do you know your mistake? You're a proper young lady, yet you claim a servant came to deliver something? An Yuan'er, do you really think your father is senile and doesn't understand your thoughts?"

"Yuan'er was wrong." An Yuan'er's attitude in admitting her mistake was still very sincere.

"What would you have done if Father hadn't come today?"

An Yuan'er thought for a moment and then said, "Yuan'er will absolutely not let such a person smear my innocence, nor will I bring shame to the An family or disgrace to Father. If Father had not come, Yuan'er would not have let them succeed. I would have bitten my tongue and committed suicide to prevent them from succeeding."

Before she could finish speaking, she saw An Chaoli's hands raised high, heading straight for An Yuan'er's face.

"You...did your father give birth to you so you could commit suicide?"

An Chaoli rarely got angry at An Yuan'er, but this time he was truly furious.

The little girl spoke lightly of committing suicide, but to her father, it was like being slowly tortured with a knife.

This was his precious daughter, whom he had cherished for over a decade. From the moment she was born, he couldn't hit her or scold her. His greatest wish for her was for her to be safe, happy, and have a smooth life. But alas, she was a troublemaker, venturing into the camp alone with audacity beyond measure.

An Chaoli's raised hand missed An Yuan'er's face a split second before it reached her.

With tears welling up in the little girl's eyes, the old father couldn't bear to hit her.

An Yuan'er cried and said, "Yuan'er was wrong. I won't say such foolish things again. Father, please don't be angry."

It took An Chaoli a long time to calm down and control his emotions.

"Father has already called a carriage for you and will arrange reliable guards to send you back tonight."

An Yuan'er's tears flowed even more fiercely.

She shook her head frantically: "Father, don't be in such a hurry. Yuan'er has finally come to see Father. Can you leave tomorrow?"

An Chaoli hardened his heart and refused to look at his daughter's aggrieved little face: "Is she seeing her father or seeing certain people, Xiao Yuan'er? You've started lying to your father."

An Chaoli wasn't stupid. His daughter had gone through so much trouble to come here; why should he go through all that trouble to see her? He probably had ulterior motives.
