Chapter 253 The sun rose in the west?

He Zhu thought for a moment and then said, "Princess, His Highness the Crown Prince really cares about you. During the days you went to Fujian, I rarely saw the Crown Prince smile."

Your servant believes you have already seen the jewelry and portraits in the study. The Crown Prince personally wipes them every day and never allows anyone else to touch them.

The Crown Prince is always surrounded by servants. He doesn't like palace maids to come forward; in fact, he doesn't like to be around women. But you are an exception.

Don't believe those rumors outside; they are just malicious slanders against the Crown Prince.

Princess, this servant has been by the Crown Prince's side since childhood. Although His Highness is the Crown Prince of the Qing Dynasty and appears to be living a glamorous life, he actually works very hard every day. Only in this way can he live up to the Emperor's expectations and prevent people from thinking that he is unworthy of the title of Crown Prince.

As you know, the Crown Prince has never celebrated his birthday in all these years. Every prince and princess in the palace has their mother with them, but the Crown Prince was born without a mother.

Although the Emperor and Empress Dowager doted on the Crown Prince, no one could replace his mother's position. Over the years, the Crown Prince always presented his best side to everyone, and no one knew what the Crown Prince was really like.

The crown prince bore a great deal of burdens alone, but he never told anyone.

This servant can see that the Crown Prince only shows his true self in front of you, and only then does he show genuine joy.

"Princess, can you stay by the Crown Prince's side forever? The Crown Prince will definitely treat you very well!" He Zhu said, kneeling down in front of He Xue.

"Get up quickly!" He Xue said with red eyes. She had always known that the Crown Prince was not as glamorous as he appeared on the surface, but she would not make any decisions based on He Zhu's words.

“Princess, you…” He Zhu wanted to say something, but was interrupted by He Xue.

"He Zhu, go check if the Crown Prince has woken up."

“Yes, Princess!” He Zhu replied.

He Zhu tiptoed to the Crown Prince's room, where the Crown Prince was already awake.

"Your Highness, Princess Xue has arrived!" He Zhu said to the Crown Prince.

"He Xue is here? Where is she?" The Crown Prince was still figuring out how to let He Xue know he was injured, how did He Xue arrive so suddenly!

"This servant will go and invite the princess over right away!" He Zhu said and went to find He Xue.

The prince rubbed his eyes to make himself look more refreshed, and took the opportunity to straighten his clothes.

"Brother Crown Prince!" He Xue arrived quickly.

The crown prince looked up and saw a servant-like person walk in. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was He Xue.

"Why did you come so early in the morning, dressed like this? Aren't you cold? He Zhu, add a few more charcoal braziers!" the Crown Prince instructed He Zhu.

Upon hearing this, He Zhu immediately went to prepare a charcoal brazier.

He Xue looked at the once majestic and elegant Crown Prince, now lying on the bed, and felt heartbroken, tears streaming down her face.

"Why are you crying?" The Crown Prince was so anxious when he saw He Xue crying that he tried to sit up.

"Crown Prince, lie down quickly and don't move around!" He Xue immediately stepped forward and carefully supported the Crown Prince.

"It's alright, lying down is too tiring!" The Crown Prince slowly sat up, holding He Xue's hand in his. "Don't cry, or your Crown Prince brother will feel sorry for you!"

"Crown Prince, are you still in pain?" He Xue asked, holding back her tears.

"It's alright now, it was just a little scary to look at, but I'm fine!"

"Why don't you explain things clearly to your uncle, the Emperor, Brother Crown Prince?" He Xue asked.

"You're a girl, your reputation can't be affected!"

"I don't care about any of that, it's better than you being punished!"

“I care. Your brother, the Crown Prince, doesn’t want you to be affected in any way. This little injury is nothing!” the Crown Prince said casually to He Xue.

"I don't want to see you punished either!" He Xue said to the Crown Prince with concern.

"Don't you believe I really did have a secret rendezvous with a palace maid?"

He Xue shook her head firmly, "I believe you! You wouldn't do such a thing!"

He Xue's words warmed the Crown Prince's heart; he knew He Xue would believe him.

The prince wanted to ruffle He Xue's hair as usual, but he forgot that he was injured and raised his arm, which aggravated the injury on his back.

Prince Si gasped.

"Is Crown Prince Brother alright?" He Xue asked anxiously.

"It's nothing, I just bumped into it by accident!" the crown prince said with a smile.

He Xue took the Crown Prince's hand and placed it on her head. The Crown Prince looked at He Xue with affection and smiled.

"He Xue, how did you get into the palace?" the Crown Prince asked.

"My older brother brought me here!"

"Jing Shu?" The Crown Prince was somewhat incredulous. He looked outside.

"Brother Crown Prince, what are you looking at?" He Xue also looked outside, but there was nothing there!

"I see the sun is rising in the west. Why would Jing Shu bring you to Yuqing Palace? It's good enough that he didn't stop me from seeing you!" the Crown Prince joked.

"Crown Prince, you seem to have some prejudice against my eldest brother!"

"It's not that I'm prejudiced against him, it's that he has a problem with me!" the Crown Prince said frankly. "Was it Jing Shu who told you I was injured?"

The Crown Prince wondered if Jing Shu had been moved by his feelings for He Xue, which was why he told He Xue about his injury.
