Chapter 316 Testing the Crown Prince

The Fourth Prince and Jing Shu never expected things to turn out this way.

Jing Shu knew the situation and quickly figured out Shu Yi's purpose in doing this. But was Shu Yi out of her mind to do such a thing in the mansion?

Did the Fourth Prince not understand what Shuyi was trying to do? Did he see Shuyi push that maid towards the Crown Prince? Could it be that Shuyi was unhappy with Hexue marrying the Crown Prince?

However, he felt that Shuyi shouldn't be able to come up with such a thing. Could it be Jingshu?

The Fourth Prince glanced at Jing Shu and saw Jing Shu looking at Shu Yi with a disappointed expression. So, Jing Shu really knew about it?

The Crown Prince's face was so black it could drip ink. What was Shu Yi up to? Just now, Shu Yi had deliberately pushed that maid towards him. If it weren't for He Xue's sake, he would have turned on him by now.

"Xiaoyu, get up now! You're so clumsy!" Shuyi said to the frightened Xiaoyu.

Xiaoyu regrets it now. She should have just swept the floor obediently and hadn't had any improper thoughts. That person in front of her is really scary. Will he kill her?

Xiaoyu thought she was quite pretty and had always wanted to get close to Shuyi, just in case Shuyi took her in!

But now, wealth and glory haven't been obtained, and there's no guarantee that his life won't be saved.

The Crown Prince gave Shuyi a cold look. "Whatever your purpose is, I may overlook it this time, but next time, I will show no mercy!"

"I'm innocent! I really didn't have any other intentions!" Shuyi said with a bitter face.

"Get her out of here right now, she looks disgusting!" the Crown Prince said with disdain.

"Yes!" Shuyi waved to Xiaoyu, signaling her to leave quickly.

Xiaoyu managed to stand up and walked towards the door.

"Wait!" the crown prince said. "Have her wait outside the door!"

The Crown Prince felt that if Su Hetai knew about He Xue's affair, he would definitely be even more dissatisfied with him. If Su Hetai used some kind of self-inflicted injury trick again, He Xue might say that she would not marry him again.

He needed to let Suhetai know what Shuyi had done, only then would he have leverage to negotiate with Suhetai.

Shuyi glanced at the Crown Prince. Had the Crown Prince changed his mind? Had he taken a fancy to Xiaoyu?

Jing Shu and the Fourth Prince did not understand the Crown Prince's purpose in doing this.

The Crown Prince looked at Shuyi and said, "If you dare to let such a person appear in front of me again, I will tell Hexue."

Shuyi wiped the sweat from her forehead. How did the Crown Prince learn to tattle?

Looking at Shuyi's expression, the Crown Prince smiled with satisfaction.

He Xue told Tongjia Shi everything that had happened in the palace.

"Why do you always seem to have so many misfortunes since you entered the palace! This time you almost lost your life!" Lady Tongjia said with pity.

"Mother, I'm alright! If it were my brother, the Crown Prince, he might not have even noticed the poisoning!" He Xue said, still shaken.

"You!" Lady Tongjia really didn't know what to say. She hoped that the Crown Prince would keep his word and remain consistent in his feelings for He Xue.

"Mother, should we tell Grandfather about Aunt's matter?"

"It is necessary to let your maternal grandfather know!" This matter has already involved the Tongjia clan, and the Tongjia clan is not one to be easily implicated.

"You can leave this to your mother. You need to take good care of your health!"

"From now on, your mother will have someone stew nourishing soup for you every day. You must drink it obediently, understand?" Tongjia Shi instructed Hexue.

"Yes, Mother!" He Xue replied obediently.

Suhetai returned to the mansion and, knowing that the Crown Prince was still there, went straight to the front hall.

He saw a flamboyantly dressed person kneeling at the door.

He briefly thought about what was going on.

He didn't think too much about it; Tongjia would handle everything in the manor.

"Greetings, Your Highness! Greetings, Fourth Prince!" Suhetai bowed to the Crown Prince and the Fourth Prince.

"Uncle, you may rise!" The Crown Prince helped Su Hetai up.

Su Hetai was already used to being addressed as the Crown Prince. "Jing Shu, where are He Xue?"

“Father, Mother has taken my little sister to the backyard!” Jing Shu said.

"Your Highness, could you please give this servant an explanation?" Su Hetai glared at the Crown Prince through gritted teeth. At this moment, he no longer cared about his status as the Crown Prince; if his daughter was harmed, no one could change his mind!

The crown prince did not speak, but knelt before Suhetai.

Suhetai had considered all possibilities, but he hadn't thought of this one. If Emperor Kangxi, with his narrow mind, found out, he would definitely be in big trouble.

Without much thought, Suhetai knelt down in front of the Crown Prince with a "plop".

When Jing Shu and Shu Yi saw Su Hetai kneel down, they also knelt down behind him.

Seeing that everyone else had knelt down while he remained standing, the Fourth Prince felt it was inappropriate and knelt down without hesitation.

Shuyi watched as everyone knelt down, thinking to herself, "This time, we've truly become sworn brothers!"
