Chapter 330 Bring Your Head to Me

"Feng Cai, take a look at his hands!" the Ninth Prince instructed Feng Cai.

The young eunuch struggled to prevent Feng Cai from seeing.

The Tenth Prince walked over and kicked the little eunuch to the ground. Then he picked up the eunuch's right hand and saw that it was indeed as the cook had said.

"Do you have anything else to say?" The Tenth Prince stepped on the eunuch's hand.

"Tenth Prince, it's common knowledge that this servant has hands. You can't judge what this servant did based on that!" the little eunuch continued to argue.

"How did you find out her identity?" the Ninth Prince asked, pointing at the cook. "You really won't admit it until you're faced with the truth!"

"I know the cook because I happened to overhear her when I accompanied the Tenth Prince to Yikun Palace!"

"Nonsense!" The Tenth Prince increased the pressure of his foot. "I've seen you only a handful of times. There's no way I could have brought you to Yikun Palace!"

"No need to waste words with him!" Seeing that he couldn't get anything out of the Ninth Prince and his group, Kangxi said to Liang Jiugong, "Hand him over to Zhao Chang, and tell Zhao Chang that if he can't get anything out of him within an hour, he should bring it up..."

Kangxi swallowed back his words halfway through. He remembered that once, He Xue had heard him say something similar, and He Xue had argued with him about it for a long time.

He Xue said that it was impossible to ask anyone to bring their head to him; no one could cut off their own head and then walk around with it.

And who wouldn't be terrified seeing something like this? A headless corpse appears before you, holding a bloody head in its hand. It would be a miracle if you weren't scared to death.

Kangxi couldn't refute He Xue's words for a moment, but wasn't that what he always said? He had never met someone as serious as He Xue before!

Then one night he dreamed of a headless man who came to see him carrying a head. He was so frightened that he woke up and decided that he would never say such things again.

"If Zhao Chang can't get the answer out of him, then let him find a block of tofu and smash his head against it!" Kangxi said irritably.

"Pfft!" The Tenth Prince was amused by Kangxi's words.

Upon seeing this, the Ninth Prince immediately covered the Tenth Prince's mouth and gave Kangxi a sullen smile.

Kangxi ignored the Ninth and Tenth Princes and instead said to Liang Jiugong, "The cook plotted to harm the Crown Prince; have her beaten to death!"

Kangxi turned to look at Consort Yi, "Consort Yi, you did a good job this time!"

"Thank you for your praise, Your Majesty!" Consort Yi curtsied to Emperor Kangxi. "Your Majesty, since this matter has nothing to do with the Imperial Noble Consort, then the Imperial Noble Consort..."

Consort Yi looked at Emperor Kangxi expectantly. Although Consort Yi did not finish her sentence, Emperor Kangxi understood what she meant.

"I know what to do about this!" Kangxi did not give a direct reply to Consort Yi.

After giving Consort Yi some instructions regarding the marriages of the princes, Emperor Kangxi returned directly to the Qianqing Palace.

After Kangxi left, the Tenth Prince sat down on the ground, his legs were weak, because plotting against the Crown Prince could cost him his head.

The Ninth Prince sat down next to the Tenth Prince, feeling as if he had survived a calamity.

Consort Yi ordered Tao Hong to find a set of jewelry and said to the Ninth Prince, "Little Ninth, when you have time, send this set of jewelry to He Xue. We owe her a lot this time!"

Consort Yi knew that if the Crown Prince had even the slightest suspicion of them, they probably wouldn't have been able to escape so easily.

"Your subject understands!" Although the Ninth Prince didn't quite understand why he had to send something to He Xue, he still agreed.

Upon hearing Liang Jiugong's message to Kang, Zhao Chang immediately began interrogating the young eunuch without hesitation, determined to make him open his mouth.

Unexpectedly, this little eunuch was a tough nut to crack. If he hadn't used his best skills, it would have been impossible to get him to talk. Although he didn't reveal some things, he did spill the main stuff, so his life should be saved.

Kangxi looked at the confession that Zhao Chang had sent over. He didn't know how this matter had been related to Consort Wuya again, since Consort Wuya had been dead for so many years.

If he had known that Consort Wuya, a mere bondservant, could cause so much trouble, he would never have touched Consort Wuya, even if it meant dying of resentment.

"Please invite the Crown Prince over!" Kangxi said.

"Yes, Your Majesty!" Liang Jiugong immediately sent Li Dequan to Yuqing Palace to invite the Crown Prince.
