He Xue turned to look at the Crown Prince, wanting to hold his hand in hers, but her hand was too small compared to his and she couldn't hold his hand at all.
Seeing this, the Crown Prince smiled and directly enveloped He Xue's hand in his own.
"Brother Crown Prince, please don't take Master Xingchi's words to heart. I will marry you no matter what!" He Xue said earnestly.
It took the prince a moment to realize what Xue meant. "Even if what they say is true, and I'm not good enough, will you still marry me?"
"Marry!" Although it was just one word, you could hear the firmness and determination in He Xue's tone.
"Don't worry, little girl, I'm fine. How could I bear to let you suffer?" The Crown Prince gently flicked He Xue's nose and said.
"Huh?" He Xue looked at the Crown Prince with a somewhat blank expression.
The Crown Prince pulled He Xue into his arms, turned around, and pinned her down.
He Xue felt a spinning sensation and found herself lying on the carriage. The Crown Prince was staring straight at her, and her hands were wrapped around his neck. In the cramped carriage, the ambiguous atmosphere quickly heated up.
"I'll show you now whether I'm good or not!" the prince said softly, then quickly kissed He Xue.
All of He Xue's words were swallowed up by the Crown Prince's kiss. The Crown Prince had only wanted to tease He Xue, but He Xue's clumsy response made him unable to stop, and also aroused his desire for more.
Only when he felt that He Xue was out of breath did the Crown Prince reluctantly release her, burying his head in her neck and panting heavily.
"Crown Prince..." He Xue's voice carried a hint of desire.
The prince looked up at He Xue, whose face still had a flush, and whose lips were bright red and luscious.
The crown prince said in a low, hoarse voice, "Little girl, don't ask me whether it's okay or not anymore!"
The prince discovered that his self-control, which he had always been proud of, was utterly vulnerable in front of He Xue.
He Xue nodded obediently.
"Brother Crown Prince, can you get up first!" He Xue nudged the Crown Prince.
The Crown Prince chuckled helplessly, then stood up and helped He Xue up as well. He Xue's hair was a little messy, but her eyes were bright and beautiful. The Crown Prince quickly turned his head away, otherwise he was worried that he would lose control of himself.
"Brother Crown Prince, what's wrong? Why is your face so red?" He Xue asked, puzzled.
"It's nothing!" the crown prince said, turning his head away.
"Are you really alright?" He Xue placed her hand on the prince's forehead and touched it. "He's not hot!"
The Crown Prince grabbed Xue's mischievous hand, "Little girl, do you know you're starting a fire? If you keep touching me like that, I might lose my temper!"
"Ah!" Xue was so startled that she withdrew her hand.
The Crown Prince tidied He Xue's hair, saying, "Sit still and stop teasing me!"
He Xue pouted, [I wonder who's teasing whom?]
The crown prince smiled silently.
"Cousin, you go and share a carriage with Bao Cheng, and let He Xue share a carriage with me!" the Imperial Noble Consort said to Kangxi.
The Imperial Noble Consort couldn't understand why Kangxi would let Hexue and the Crown Prince ride in the same carriage!
"Cousin, don't worry! Baocheng won't do anything reckless. Besides, they're getting married soon, so it's alright!" Kangxi said with his eyes closed.
He did hope the Crown Prince would do something, knowing that if he dared to say such a thing, his cousin would definitely kick him off the carriage.
"Cousin, I'm going to take a nap!" Kangxi said. He didn't want to sleep in the same carriage as the Crown Prince, that brat! It was much better to have his sweet cousin by his side!
Xingchi sat in the carriage heading towards the capital, his heart filled with mixed emotions. He had been away from the capital for more than 30 years, and he never thought he would have to go back one day.
He had considered escaping, but his emperor son had said that if he dared to run away, he would be caught and brought back to the capital, bound hand and foot, even if it meant breaking his legs.
Xingchi sighed deeply. He was both looking forward to and afraid of returning to the capital. He didn't know how to face the Empress Dowager, the Empress Dowager, and his sons and grandsons.
He also learned that his emperor son already had more than a dozen sons, which was better than his son. With many offspring, the Qing Dynasty would have many successors and would prosper!
Even if the crown prince really has some problems, there's no need to worry about not having a successor.
