"This morning, before entering the palace, Tana sent someone to tell me that she and my eighth brother would not be going to the palace today, and would do so another day!" said the First Princess Consort.
"Has something happened?" Kazuyuki asked worriedly.
Seeing that there were no outsiders present, and that everyone except He Xue probably already knew, the First Princess decided not to hide anything.
"I don't know what happened to my eighth brother last night. He was beaten black and blue and was dumped at the gate of the mansion. The gatekeeper found him this morning."
"Huh? Who would dare to challenge a prince of the current dynasty?" He Xue asked, puzzled.
"I don't know about that!" The First Madam shook her head and said, "Our master went home quite late last night, saying he was drinking with his third and fourth brothers!"
Third sister-in-law, fourth sister-in-law, are you aware of this matter? The First Princess looked at the Third and Fourth Princesses.
"Sister-in-law, we understand!" The Third and Fourth Princess Consorts nodded.
He Xue suddenly suspected that the Eighth Prince's beating might be related to the First Prince, the Third Prince, and the Fourth Prince. However, it should have nothing to do with the Crown Prince, since the Crown Prince has always been there.
"Sister-in-law, where are Jilan and Shushu?" He Xue came in but didn't see the eldest prince's two daughters.
"I went to play with my thirteenth and fourteenth brothers!"
As soon as the First Princess finished speaking, Jilan led Shushu in.
Jilan curtsied to the people in the room, and Shushu ran straight to Hexue, "Auntie, after you marry Second Uncle, can I still call you Auntie?"
He Xue hugged Shu Shu and said, "Of course you can call her whatever you want!"
"Then I'll still call her Auntie!" Shushu said happily, clapping her hands. She didn't like calling her Second Auntie at all!
"Auntie, can I still sleep with you?" Shushu asked, tilting her head.
"Okay!" He Xue said, patting Shu Shu's little pigtails.
"That won't do. Your aunt belongs to your second uncle now, so she can't sleep with you!" the First Madam said with a smile.
"Hmph! I'm going to find my second uncle. He's such a grown man, yet he still has his aunt accompanying him!" With that, Shushu jumped off Hexue's lap and stormed off.
Everyone in the room was amused by her.
"Sister-in-law, you're setting a bad example for the children!" He Xue said, her cheeks slightly flushed.
"If Shushu stays at Yuqing Palace tonight, my second brother will probably head straight for the Prince Zhi's residence!" the First Princess joked.
He Xue thought to herself, "It's probably really possible!"
When the Crown Prince heard that the First Prince had abandoned the Eighth Prince at the door, he asked in surprise, "Brother, why did you just leave the Eighth Prince at the door?"
"If we don't throw him at the door, where else should we throw him? In his bed?" The eldest prince felt that it was good enough that he could send the eighth prince back!
"You two just watched your elder brother do this?" The Crown Prince turned to ask the Third Prince and the Fourth Prince.
“We will listen to our eldest brother in everything. Didn’t he say that the eldest brother is like a father? Besides, we can’t disobey our father’s orders!” the Third Prince said with distress.
The Fourth Prince felt that, given the Eighth Prince's provocative words, bringing him back was enough to honor their brotherhood.
If the eldest prince hadn't knocked the eighth prince unconscious, it would have been really difficult to bring the eighth prince back. The eighth prince insisted on not letting them send him away, and he was harder to hold down than a pig during the New Year!
The Crown Prince pointed at the Third Prince and shook his head helplessly.
"Second Uncle!" Shushu ran up to the Crown Prince.
"Shushu, what do you want with your second uncle?" The eldest prince felt very uncomfortable seeing that his precious daughter was not looking for him but instead looking for the crown prince.
"Father, I want Aunt to stay with me tonight. Mother told me to ask Second Uncle if it's okay?" Shushu asked innocently.
"Haha! Haha! Go ahead and ask! Tell them you'll cry if your second uncle doesn't agree!" The eldest prince slapped his thigh and said gleefully.
