The Crown Prince said nothing more, "Yes, Your Majesty, I take my leave!"
"He Xue, can you forgive my mother for the sake of our childhood friendship? I apologize to you on behalf of my mother!" the Eighth Prince said to He Xue.
"Eighth Prince, I'm not going to forgive Consort Liang just because you apologize. You're trying to morally blackmail me!"
"If I hadn't discovered Consort Liang's conspiracy, who could have made up for the harm I suffered!" He Xue didn't even glance at the Eighth Prince.
After bowing to Emperor Kangxi, the Crown Prince and He Xue left.
Seeing that He Xue showed no sign of backing down, the Eighth Prince turned to Kangxi and pleaded again, "Father, I know that Mother has made a grave mistake this time, but she is, after all, my birth mother. I am willing to take the punishment in Mother's place, and I only ask that Father be lenient with her."
