When Tana heard that the Crown Prince and He Xue had arrived, she was taken aback at first, and then she quickly went out to greet them.
"Greetings, Your Highness and Your Highness's Consort!" Tana bowed to the Crown Prince and He Xue.
"No need for formalities!" the Crown Prince said. "Eighth sister-in-law, I heard that my eighth brother was beaten, so I came here specifically to see him!"
"Thank you for your concern, Your Highness!"
"Take me to see my eighth brother."
"Yes!" Tana then led the way.
Tana had the Eighth Prince settled in the study. When Tana arrived at the study with the Crown Prince and He Xue, the Eighth Prince's concubines had already been driven out by him, but none of them left. This was their chance to show themselves in front of the Eighth Prince, so how could they miss it?
Tana said to the concubines, "You may all return to your own courtyards!"
But no one left at all.
Tana said sternly, "Can you bear the consequences of offending the Crown Prince and Crown Princess?"
After hearing Tana's words, the concubines reluctantly left.
Tana stepped forward and gently pushed open the door. She saw the Eighth Prince lying on the bed, his back covered in wounds.
Upon seeing this, the Crown Prince said anxiously, "What happened to Eighth Brother? Father Emperor went too far."
Upon hearing the voice, the Eighth Prince struggled to lift his head and saw the Crown Prince and He Xue standing in front of him.
"Second brother, please forgive me for not being able to bow to you!"
"Let's not talk about these things between brothers!" The Crown Prince now appeared to be a loving older brother.
"What have you done to anger Father Emperor?"
"Second Brother, don't you know? Did you come here to laugh at me?" The Eighth Prince looked up at the Crown Prince and asked in return.
"Are you blaming me, Eighth Brother? You must know what Consort Liang did, right?" the Crown Prince asked coldly.
"Mother already knows she was wrong, so why is the Crown Prince still holding onto this?" the Eighth Prince said angrily.
"Just because Consort Liang knows she was wrong, does that mean we should forgive her? I've said before that some mistakes are not easily forgiven!" He Xue said angrily.
"He Xue, how did you become like this? You used to be such a kind-hearted person!" the Eighth Prince said with great distress.
"Just because I didn't forgive Consort Liang, does that mean I'm not kind-hearted? Eighth Prince should say that to Consort Liang. If she were kind-hearted, she wouldn't have harmed an unborn child, would she?" He Xue said coldly.
"Eighth brother, just stay at home and recover from your injuries! Don't worry about things in the palace!" the Crown Prince said to the Eighth Prince.
"Yinreng, if you dare to hurt my mother, I will not let you get away with it!" the Eighth Prince shouted.
"Why won't you let me go? You're just a lowly prince now, not even as good as the Ninth or Tenth Princes!" the Crown Prince said mockingly.
The Eighth Prince glared at the Crown Prince with bloodshot eyes, "You've gone too far!"
"Heh! This is outrageous! If I were to go too far, given what you've done, do you think you'd still be able to speak to me like this?" After saying this, the Crown Prince was about to leave with He Xue.
"He Xue, I didn't know what Mother did. If I had known, I definitely wouldn't have let her hurt you!" the Eighth Prince said anxiously.
"It's pointless to say all this now!"
"Do you think I have no sincerity at all, Xue?"
“Yes, but not much! You’re mostly scheming and manipulating,” He Xue said without turning her head.
"He Xue, I might hurt everyone else, but I will never hurt you! I don't care about anyone else, I only care about you!"
The Crown Prince clenched his fists, his eyes wide, and was about to strike at the Eighth Prince. Seeing this, He Xue immediately pulled the Crown Prince away.
The Eighth Prince watched their departing figures, his heart filled with anger and resentment.
