"What do you mean the Crown Prince stole everything from you? I think you've been instilled with too many unrealistic ideas by Consort Liang!"
"Yin Si, don't think that just because I won't kill my son, you can act so arrogantly in front of me!" Kangxi said coldly.
Seeing Kangxi's angry expression, Liang Jiugong quickly served him a cup of tea, saying, "Your Majesty, please calm down. The Eighth Prince is still young!"
When he said this, Liang Jiugong almost bit his tongue. He was already married, so how could he be considered young!
Emperor Kangxi was both amused and exasperated by Liang Jiugong's words. "He's almost old enough to be his father, and he's still so young! Even the Fifteenth Prince is more sensible than him!"
After hearing Kangxi's words, Yinzhi felt a pang of bitterness in his heart. He never expected that in his father's heart, he was not even as good as the fifteenth prince, who was still a wet-headed child.
"I never imagined that Father Emperor would think his son was so worthless!"
Enraged, Kangxi smashed the teacup in his hand at the Eighth Prince, yelling, "You unfilial son!"
Liang Jiugong, take the Eighth Prince away and give him twenty strokes of the cane.
Emperor Kangxi was too lazy to say anything more to the Eighth Prince, knowing that no matter how much he said, the Eighth Prince's thoughts would remain stubborn.
Liang Jiugong immediately ordered his men to take the Eighth Prince away.
Emperor Kangxi was also pondering whether or not to spare Consort Liang's life. Now that the Eighth Prince had been led astray by Consort Liang, if she continued to bewitch him, who knew what he might do?
"Why is it so quiet outside?" Kangxi suddenly asked. The Eighth Prince had been shouting and yelling just now, so why is he silent now? Could it be that he was beaten too hard?
Before Liang Jiugong could speak, Kangxi immediately got up and walked outside.
"You're already feeling sorry for me?" Liang Jiugong shook his head helplessly and quickly followed.
As Kangxi walked to the door, the guards who were carrying out the execution suddenly moved the rod upwards, about to strike the Eighth Prince in the lower back.
"Stop!" Kangxi shouted. "Arrest that dog of a servant!" Kangxi pointed at the guard who was carrying out the execution.
If he hadn't stopped him in time, that person would have actually tried to harm Yinzhi, and even planned to depose him!
Soon someone brought the guard to Kangxi.
"Who exactly instructed you to do this?" Kangxi asked.
"Your Majesty, you ordered me to carry out the execution!"
Kangxi kicked the man, "I didn't tell you to depose Yinzhi!"
"Liang Jiugong, hand this man over to Zhao Chang. Make sure he reveals who's behind it all!"
"Yes!" Liang Jiugong replied, then asked Kangxi, "Your Majesty, what about the Eighth Prince...?" [He's not even twenty yet, should we still punish him?]
Kangxi looked at the motionless Eighth Prince, whose inner garment was already stained red with blood.
Upon seeing this, Emperor Kangxi was somewhat moved. After all, this was his own son, and he didn't want to really hurt the Eighth Prince.
"Alright, bring Yinzhi in." Kangxi sighed and turned back into the room.
Soon, Yinzhi was helped in. His face was pale, clearly indicating that the caning had taken a toll on him.
"Yin Si, do you know your mistake?" Kangxi asked Yin Si sternly.
The Eighth Prince lowered his head and remained silent, still resentful in his heart.
Emperor Kangxi shook his head helplessly. "Go back to your residence and reflect on your actions. You are not allowed to leave your residence without my permission, nor are you allowed to enter the palace without my summons!"
"Yin Si, do not cross my line, or I will show no mercy!"
"Yes, Your Majesty, I understand!" the Eighth Prince said reluctantly.
Today, what happened to him and his mother was all thanks to the Crown Prince. He and the Crown Prince are destined to be enemies to the death!
