Chapter 10: Natural Nesting Behavior Kerry, I may never...
"Your Highness, is your injury serious?" Shika came to Lanrod's side. Geras at the door shook his head at Lanrod, indicating that he could not stop Shika.
Lanrod lowered his eyes and said, "I'm fine."
Shika glanced at Lanrod, then turned to look at Kerry. When he saw Kerry's delicate features, he was stunned at first, but soon said angrily: "Are you the C-rank female insect who shot and injured His Highness Lanrod?!"
Kerry was startled and stood up suddenly. His body, which had not yet recovered, staggered and almost fell.
"Be careful." Lanrod said.
Kerry held onto the wall and looked at Shika cautiously. His eyes swept over the flower ornament on Shika's forehead, and he pursed his lips and said, "Sir."
Shika glared at Kairi: "You are so brave!"
Lanrod raised his eyes and said in a cold voice, "I asked him to do this."
Shika glanced at the silver-haired female insect, then glared at Kairi: "What happened next? I heard that His Highness's spiritual realm was severely damaged in order to save you!"
Kairi froze there, not knowing how to answer Shika.
Lanrod pursed his lips and said, "It's not that serious. It just stripped away some of my mental strength."
Shika stared at Lanrod with wide eyes: "Your Highness! What do you mean by only stripping away some of his spiritual power? This is already very serious!"
After saying that, Shika still felt it was not enough. He turned his head and pointed at Kairi: "He is not a male insect, he is just a C-level female insect. He is not worth saving at all!"
Shika stamped his feet, the more he thought about it, the more it wasn't worth it.
This Carrie is just a C-level female insect. If she dies, she dies. Why is it worth it for Lanrod to save her?
"Sir Shika, are you here just to say this?" Lanrod said in a cold voice.
Shika looked at Kairi and snorted, then turned and walked to Lanrod's side.
"Your Highness, I came here because I heard that your spiritual realm was damaged."
Shika's tone suddenly became gentle: "Damage to the spiritual realm can easily lead to mental disorder, but with the comfort of a male insect, it will be much better."
Lanrod lowered his eyes and immediately understood what Shika meant.
Shika said proudly, "Your Highness, I am an S-rank male insect, the highest rank male insect in the entire empire. If it comes to soothing the spiritual realm, I am afraid that only I can soothe your spiritual realm."
After all, there are only three S-class male insects in the entire empire, and Shika is one of them.
"Thank you." Lanrod pursed his lips and said, "But I won't bother Lord Shika. I am very grateful for your visit."
Shika frowned: "Your Highness Lanrod, you must understand that I am already the highest-ranking male insect in the world. If even I can't appease you, then no one in this world can appease you!"
Lanrod's eyelashes drooped: "I know."
Looking at Lanrod's cold expression, Shika suddenly felt annoyed.
He is an S-rank male insect, held in the palm of his hand by so many people, and so many female insects long for a glance from him.
Now look what happened. He rushed over eagerly, but Lanrod still refused!
"Lanrod, are you sure you don't want me to comfort you?!" Shika's tone became spoiled and sharp, "Do you know how many female insects beg to see me every day?"
Lanrod's eyes were filled with apology: "Sir Shika, thank you, but I really don't need it."
After hearing this, Shika's cheeks turned red. He looked at Lanrod angrily, snorted coldly, and ran out.
Geras looked at Shika's angry back, and finally pointed at Lanrod helplessly, then chased after him.
"Sir! Please walk slowly, don't fall--!"
Carrie watched everything that had just happened, then turned to look at Lanrod lying on the hospital bed.
The silver-haired female insect's body seemed to have recovered a little compared to yesterday, but her face was still pale.
"Sir, why don't you accept Lord Shika's comfort?" Carrie asked.
Carrie knew Shika because Shika was the top S-class male insect in the empire, and there were only three S-class male insects in the entire empire.
Carrie still remembered that in her previous life, a classmate in the military academy was willing to sacrifice all his military merits in order to see an S-level male insect, just to exchange for a dinner with the male insect. Of course, that did not happen in the end.
But now... the honorable S-class male insect came here on his own initiative and was rejected.
"What about you?" Lanrod suddenly asked.
Kerry was stunned by the question: "What?"
"Will you readily accept the comfort from His Majesty the Male Insect?" Lanrod asked.
When asked this question suddenly, Carrie didn't know how to answer.
In fact, logically speaking, he should say "yes". After all, in this world, almost every female insect wants to be comforted by a male insect, and even more wants to have a male master of her own.
What's more, Carrie himself is just a C-level female insect. Logically speaking, as long as a male insect takes a fancy to him, he should accept it as if it were a stroke of luck and be grateful.
She should have said "yes", but Carrie just couldn't bring herself to say it.
Because he was not completely of this world, he was once human.
Kerry gave a wry smile and replied, "Sir, my situation is different from yours."
Lanrod was a little surprised when he heard Carrie's answer. He thought Carrie would answer yes without hesitation.
After all, every female insect longs for the comfort of a male insect, and even more so for having her own male master.
"Carey, I may never have a lord in this life." Lanrod's silver-blue eyes were clear and bright, and the stars in them were as bright as glaciers and mountains.
Kerry looked at Lanrod.
If other female insects said this, Carrie would understand.
But how could Lanrod be possible?
"You are a female insect. You should understand that once a female insect is marked, it is her genetic nature that she will no longer be able to be independent, right?" Lanrod's silver hair fell in front of his eyes, intertwined with his thick eyelashes.
"Do you mean that once a female insect is marked, she will be branded by the male master for life?" asked Carrie.
Carey had received basic education and knew that once a female insect was marked, the male insect's mark would be left in her body forever.
The marked female insect will be controlled by its own genes and will unstoppably crave the male insect's pheromones.
Their natural nesting behavior will be triggered, and for a long time, any behavior of the males will greatly affect the females.
Especially during the period just after being marked, if the female insect does not receive enough pheromone comfort from the male insect, it may even face mental collapse and death.
Carrie knew all of this.
But... Carrie remembered that a friend who was marked in his previous life said that he enjoyed the moment of being marked by the Lord. It felt like living in a dream and he enjoyed it very much.
Lanrod didn't know what Kerry was thinking. His long eyelashes drooped, and the beautiful corners of his eyes were slightly raised under the shadows, with a gorgeous color.
"Once marked, the female insect's genetic instincts will be completely stimulated, complete nesting behavior, and complete pheromone influence. All of this means that I can no longer control my emotions. That uncontrollable feeling of being out of control is hard to accept." Lanrod's eyes were empty. He looked at the sky outside the window, like a nightingale in a cage looking up at the stars.
After a few moments of silence, Kerry said, "Sir, I understand you."
After all, everyone is an independent individual. Perhaps some female insects enjoy the pleasure of being marked, while some female insects hate the constraints of being marked. This is normal.
What's more, Kerry was originally a human being, and he himself didn't really care about male or female insects. If he did, he wouldn't have been so devotedly in love with Shakeni, who was also a female insect, in his previous life.
"Carey, you really surprise me." Lanrod looked at Carey with his crystal eyes. His silver hair and pale skin complemented each other, and his handsome and gorgeous face was covered with a soft light.
"Almost everyone thinks I'm crazy. How could a female insect not desire to be marked and appeased, and why would she not want to have a male master? In the eyes of others, this is a very rebellious behavior." Lanrod lowered his eyes.
He still remembered that when he told Geras about his idea, Geras rejected it immediately and firmly persuaded him to hurry up and mate with the male insect.
