318 is growing

318 is growing

Early in the morning, the sun couldn't wait to come out.

The weather was good and the road was easy to walk on. Huang Yanqiu remembered what her husband at home had reminded her and went back to the village to get rice.

This year the rice harvest was good, so my parents-in-law dried, hulled, and packed their share, and told them to go back to the village to get it when they had time.

Huang Yanqiu drove out the yellow van that had not been driven for a long time.

With the intention of earning some gas money, I drove the car to several busy waiting areas in the county town, intending to pick up a few passengers before going back.

A person got in the passenger seat.

Huang Yanqiu put down the thermos, turned her head and raised her eyebrows in surprise.

Ouyang Yan smiled and nodded at her, then looked forward.

From her tightly clasped hands, it was obvious that she was not at peace.

Four people got on the car one after another. Seeing that the time was almost up, Huang Yanqiu did not wait any longer. She closed the car door and set off for Shanghe Village.

An hour later, the four people in the back seat got off the car one after another, leaving Ouyang Yan as the only passenger left in the car.

Huang Yanqiu then asked, "Are you going to Shanghe Village too?"

Ouyang Yan nodded, "Yeah."

"Where are your children?" Huang Yanqiu asked.

"With her grandmother."

"What are you doing back here?"

"Take my things."

"oh."

The car fell into silence, with only the dry smoke and dust blowing past.

Huang Yanqiu drove the car directly to the door of Zhou's house. Before getting out of the car, Ouyang Yan asked her if she would return to the city today.

Huang Yanqiu was stunned for a moment, then asked tentatively, "I'll pick you up later?"

"Thank you." Ouyang Yan smiled at her, pushed open the half-closed door of Zhou's house and walked in.

Soon, Guihua's surprised voice and Chunhua's weird sarcasm were heard from the yard.

Huang Yanqiu felt that she had probably lived in the city for too long and could not stand such harsh sounds.

She turned the car around, couldn't help but curse, jumped out of the car, and rushed into the Zhou family yard in two big strides.

Chunfang and Guihua, who were trying to stop Ouyang Yan from packing her things, were both startled.

"Huang Yanqiu, what are you doing?" Guihua roared in a stern but cowardly manner.

Huang Yanqiu leaned against the door frame with her arms folded, and sneered, "Are you two still women? You've been eating and using other people's things for the past few years, and you haven't had enough of taking advantage of them, right?"

"We're two families now. It's none of your business if someone comes to take my things. If you keep interfering, I'll beat you to death!"

I've been the boss of a rental company for three years. I've come into contact with all kinds of people, right?

Huang Yanqiu is now full of gangster spirit. When she said she wanted to beat someone to death, she was not kidding at all.

Guihua and Chunfang looked at each other, glared at Ouyang Yan, and let go of the radio and the only 12-inch black and white TV in the house that they were holding tightly.

"When did you two become so close?"

Chunfang glanced at Huang Yanqiu, who looked like a gangster at the door, and asked Ouyang Yan in a bad mood.

Ouyang Yan nodded gratefully to Huang Yanqiu, without answering, but just quickened her pace to pack her things.

My daughter’s toys and clothes, her own clothes, and the small appliances she brought from her parents’ house in the past two years.

The spring sofa in the main room was also retired from her family. It was too difficult for one person to move it, so they just considered it a bargain.

Except for those that could not be moved, Ouyang Yan moved all the things she had brought with her into Huang Yanqiu's car.

Not even a small stool was left out!

The entire rear compartment was packed full.

Facing Huang Yanqiu's surprised eyes, Ouyang Yan said embarrassedly: "I'll give you more money."

Huang Yanqiu was not polite to her. "One way, the taxi is 60 yuan."

"Okay." Ouyang Yan agreed readily.

After checking again to make sure nothing was missing, Ouyang Yan said to Huang Yanqiu, "Okay, let's go."

Huang Yanqiu tilted her head to signal her to get in the car, then glanced at Chunfang and the other two before driving to her parents-in-law's house.

After taking the rice, I went straight back to the county town without staying for long.

Chunfang and Guihua looked at the suddenly empty yard and were so angry that their lungs hurt.

It’s strange to say, before Ouyang Yan got married, the house was empty, and she never thought there was anything wrong with it.

Why can't I bear it now? It feels like a big piece of my heart has been cut out.

Chunfang cursed so harshly that within an afternoon, the whole village knew that Zhou Zhenghua's wife from the city no longer wanted him and had moved out of the Zhou family's house.

Guihua said nothing and just let Chunfang spread the news everywhere.

Who made her raise someone else's daughter now? The eldest son Zhou couldn't have children, and she couldn't borrow sperm. The only way was to adopt the second son's daughter.

Fortunately, they now have a son and are no longer interested in a daughter.

However, Chunfang didn't care about her, but Guihua did. The couple loved their niece like the apple of their eye. Thinking that they would depend on this girl for the rest of their lives, they dared not offend Chunfang and her husband.

Ouyang Yan told Huang Yanqiu everything about the Zhou family on the way.

Huang Yanqiu would not miss this great opportunity to gossip, and immediately asked Ouyang Yan whether she had really broken up with Hao Huaping.

Ouyang Yan snorted coldly and told all about Hao Huaping's involvement in her family affairs in recent years.

Perhaps these things cannot be told to outsiders or even her mother, so Huang Yanqiu became Ouyang Yan's outlet.

Anyway, Huang Yanqiu knew all the details of her family, so she was not afraid of being laughed at by her.

Besides, it’s not her who is embarrassed, but Zhou Zhenghua and Hao Huaping, the couple!

Ouyang Yan's words were filled with resentment and hatred.

When she got to the exciting part, Huang Yanqiu thought she was going to take a knife and kill Zhou Zhenghua and his mother.

Fortunately, after venting, she finally returned to normal.

"I'm sorry for forcing you to listen to so much of what I said." Ouyang Yan regained her decent smile.

Huang Yanqiu glanced at her quickly and said, "You divorced so quickly, I thought you didn't feel angry at all."

Ouyang Yan smiled awkwardly, how could there not be.

But she doesn't hate herself the way she is now.

This is her motivation. She wants to hold this breath and watch Zhou Zhenghua never be able to recover and become more and more miserable!

"You've changed a lot." Huang Yanqiu sighed.

Ouyang Yan smiled bitterly. "I don't know if you've ever had that feeling before, when suddenly your thoughts become clearer and you realize how muddled your life has been."

"I suspect my brain is only just maturing now."

Huang Yanqiu said with a smile: "This shows that you are constantly growing."

"By the way, you wrote the report letter, right?"

Ouyang Yan looked over in surprise, "How did you know?!"

"You can guess."

Ouyang Yan was speechless. Indeed, who else would do this except her?

Huang Yanqiu asked her, "Do you know that Hao Huaping is the daughter of the deputy mayor? Your letter of complaint probably won't cause her any substantial harm. At most, it will cause her to lose her reputation at school for a few months. Before long, everyone will probably forget about it..."

"What did you say?" Ouyang Yan interrupted Huang Yanqiu excitedly and asked in surprise, "Whose daughter is she?"

Huang Yanqiu: "She's the deputy mayor's daughter, don't you know?"

Ouyang Yan only found out now!

In an instant, countless details flooded into her mind, and she suddenly realized, no wonder, no wonder!

It turned out that Zhong Yunxiu had known Hao Huaping's identity for a long time, which was why she was so eager to force her to divorce her son.
