Murong Shu hadn't seen his father for many days and missed him very much. He ran down the carriage happily and said, "Dad, we are back and brought a lot of seafood. Are grandma, mother, and second aunt all okay?"
"My dear daughter, I'm glad you're back safely. Father didn't tell them that you were coming home today." Mu Shi looked at Murong Shu with a distressed face. He felt that his precious daughter had lost weight after being away for a few days.
"Brother, I'm back too!" Mousse was very excited to see his brother, but his brother didn't even look at him, his eyes were full of his little niece. Mousse was not angry, he thought that his brother was just jealous that he could go out with Shu'er.
"Father, how is mother? Did you miss me? Mingyue brought you some seafood, they are delicious." Jun Mingyue started to act coquettishly when she saw King Zhenshan. She also missed her family very much.
"Everything is fine in the palace. I heard that you were arriving today, so your father came here early to wait for you. He was afraid that if you came back late, someone would be blind and not open the city gate for you." King Zhenshan was really worried, but most of all he missed his daughter.
"Thank you for coming to pick me up, big brother!" It was the first time that Wen Jing was going on a long journey. Besides his father and mother, the one he was most worried about was Wen Zhi. There was a big age gap between him and his third brother, and he usually loved Wen Jing very much.
"Let's go home. Father and mother must be waiting anxiously!" Wen Zhi patted his third brother's shoulder when he saw his younger brother return safely. Everything was said without words.
"Yeah." Wen Jing just said this simple word, but Wen Zhi could feel his joy of returning home.
Several people said goodbye at the city gate. Murong Shu asked Rong Yunnan to arrange for people to carry two baskets of dried prawns to the Zhenshan Palace, the Wen family and the Liu family respectively, and put them directly on the carriage to take back, so as to avoid having to deliver them to each house tomorrow.
Rong Yunnan did not return to Rong Mansion directly, but took the seafood directly to Mu Mansion. He was mainly worried that the seafood would not be handled properly and this trip to the seaside would be wasted.
General Mu and Mousse had no objections. They all listened to Murong Shu, so they went directly to the Mu Mansion with the seafood.
After they returned home, there was another chaos. Old Madam Mu wanted to beat up both her eldest and second sons. No one informed her that her sweetheart was coming back today, and she almost went to bed early.
"Grandma, please don't be angry. Father and Second Uncle didn't tell you because they were afraid that we would be delayed on the road and wouldn't be able to arrive today. They were afraid that you would be anxious waiting for us. So please don't be angry, okay? Shu'er misses you so much."
Murong Shu really couldn't bear to see his father and second uncle being scolded, so he ran to his grandmother and acted like a spoiled child. Sure enough, Old Madam Mu's anger immediately subsided, and she started asking Murong Shu about his trip, and then she forgot about the two sons who had made her angry.
Knowing that they had not had dinner yet, Madam Mu quickly sent someone to the kitchen to tell the cook to prepare food for the fifth young lady.
Song Wei and Rong Qing were worried and went straight to the kitchen to prepare dinner for everyone. Seeing that his second brother was also there, Rong Qing sent someone back to the Rong family to inform them so that his parents would not worry.
The people in the kitchen worked very quickly and dinner was served on the table in a short while. Except for Murong Shu, the others who had not eaten yet were Mu Shi, Mu Si and Rong Yunnan. Although the others had already eaten dinner, they still sat down to join them.
After dinner, the old lady chatted with her granddaughter for a while before returning to her own yard. Before leaving, Murong Shu promised to cook seafood porridge for her grandmother early the next morning. The old lady was so happy that she couldn't stop smiling. She thought her granddaughter was so considerate, while her son only made her angry.
Although he was a little tired, Murong Shu still arranged for people to unload the seafood he brought from the car and put it away. Even Mousse, Mu Shi and his brothers came to help.
After finishing all these, Song Wei and Rong Qing personally sent Murong Shu back to Guiningyuan, and then went back reluctantly. As soon as they went out, they met a group of men in the house.
"It's so late, what are you all doing gathered at the gate of Shu'er's yard?" Song Wei looked at the group of people with a bit of surprise.
"Hey, Madam, I'm just worried about Shu'er."
"Mom, we just want to see my sister more. It feels like there is no one in the house when she is not at home."
"Yes, auntie. My fifth sister is not around, and Xiaoliu is so bored every day."
"Okay, it's too late today, Shu'er needs to rest. Don't bother her here. Let's go together." Once Song Wei spoke, the others didn't dare to stay and could only follow Song Wei and leave.
"Daddy, my fifth sister has become thinner. Didn't you take good care of her?" Little Six Mu Siyu asked his father.
"Have you lost weight? It must be because you eat seafood. I tell you, the seafood Shu'er cooks is really delicious, especially the fried shrimps. I like it the most."
Mousse finally found an opportunity to show off, and he was so excited when he talked about it that he didn't notice that the others looked like they were ready to take action at any time.
"Wei'er, sister-in-law, you go ahead, let's discuss the delicious food made by Shu'er with my second brother." Mu Shi said with gritted teeth.
Rong Qing simply couldn't bear to look at her stupid husband, so she pulled Song Wei and walked away quickly. "Sister-in-law, let's go back and rest first, and let them talk."
Song Wei also knew what was going to happen next. As sisters-in-law, they were too lazy to care about the matters between brothers, uncle and nephew. They pulled Rong Qing and walked faster. Not long after they walked, they heard Mousse's voice coming from behind them.
"Don't go too far. I'm not afraid of you. You're just jealous that I got to eat Shu'er's feast while you didn't."
"Brother, how could you sneak attack me?"
"You two little bastards, are you thinking of rebelling? I am your father."
"Nephew, please let go. Your arm hurts."
......
On the first night back home, Mousse finally realized how jealous men were, but he did not regret it. He just liked seeing these men jealous of him.
When Mousse returned to his room at night, he hadn't seen his wife for almost ten days. He hugged Rong Qing and acted coquettishly, and even told her about how the man in his family was jealous of him.
Rong Qing was powerless to complain about her husband, but she couldn't bear to say anything to him, so she could only advise him, "Be more low-key next time. Shu'er hasn't been home recently, and everyone is in low spirits. Even mother has eaten less. You come back to show off, it's strange that you won't be punished."
Mousse said with a guilty conscience, "I am just too happy. Last time they went to pick up Shu'er, I wasn't jealous of them. They are too stingy."
"Are you sure you're not jealous? Wasn't it because you lost the fight to your eldest brother that you couldn't go?" Rong Qing couldn't help but expose Mousse's past.
"Madam, how can you say that about your husband? He is so sad now and needs your comfort." Mousse's trick always works on Rong Qing.
"Husband, please stop making trouble. The children are so grown up, why are you still so childish?" Rong Qing felt a little embarrassed by Mousse's teasing.
"I'll let my wife coax them. It's none of their business. If they are jealous, they can still get married, and then let their wives coax them." Mousse said confidently. Rong Qing didn't know what to say, but it was indeed time for her Erlang to get married.
"Husband, do you think Qing'er can pass the exam next year?" Rong Qing didn't mean that his son must pass the exam, but if he passed, he would have better choices in marriage.
"Ma'am, that's next year's matter. Why don't we discuss current matters first?"
"What's going on right now?"
"Of course it's something a couple should do..."
