Chapter 9: First Encounter with Wen Jing

As he had nothing to do in the afternoon, Murong Shu asked Rong Qing to go and deliver medicine to Rong Yunnan. Murong Shu originally didn't have to go, but based on the doctor's responsibility to the patient, he still went to Rong Mansion.

Rong Qing was deeply moved when he heard that Murong Shu was going to go back to her parents' home with him. His second brother's illness had always been the top priority for the whole family and had troubled the Rong family for many years.

Seeing that his little niece, who had just returned home, was so concerned about his second brother and even went to deliver medicine in person, Rong Qing swore in his heart that he would love Murong Shu as his own daughter in the future.

Rong Qing sent someone to inform his mother, father and second brother in advance, so when Murong Shu and Rong Qing arrived at the Rong Mansion, they were already waiting at the door to greet them.

When Rong Qing and Murong Shu got off the carriage, they were warmly welcomed.

"Qing'er, this is Shu'er, my good child. You've worked hard. You just returned to the capital and you haven't had time to rest, but you've already been busy for your uncle Yunnan. Stay here for dinner tonight. I'll ask the kitchen to make some more delicious food for you."

The more you look at Rong's mother "Zhang" holding Murong Shu, the more friendly she looks. She is not only her son-in-law's niece, but also her son's savior.

Ever since she found out yesterday that her second son’s illness could be cured, Rong’s mother wanted to worship Murong Shu.

"Father, you see how biased mother is. Every time I come home, I never see her being so enthusiastic!"

Rong Qing joked with his mother. In the past, his mother always looked a little sad because of his second brother's illness, but today, his mother's brows were filled with happiness.

"You are so old, but you are still jealous of our Shu'er. Our Shu'er has suffered so much for so many years outside. I haven't had the chance to visit Shu'er, but I saved the second child first. You must be nicer to our Shu'er in the future, otherwise mother will not agree with you!"

"Father, look at mother, she doesn't love her daughter anymore!"

Rong Qing turned around and started acting coquettishly to Master Rong, causing Master Rong to laugh out loud.

“Grandma Rong, let’s go in first. I’ll take Uncle Yunnan’s pulse and then tell you in detail how to use these medicines. I’ll make sure Uncle Yunnan can go wherever he wants in the future.”

Murong Shu didn't expect Rong's mother to be so enthusiastic and approachable. She had a very good impression of Rong's mother when they first met. Seeing that the little girl was so well-behaved, Rong's mother felt very fond of her.

"Hey, let's go in now. Thank you for your hard work, Shu'er."

Seeing their mother walking excitedly in front with her little niece, Rong Qing, Master Rong, and Rong Yunnan smiled at each other.

When Rong's mother saw the special medicine Murong Shu prepared for her son, she finally felt relieved. After taking Rong Yunnan's pulse and explaining the precautions for taking the medicine, Rong's mother sent away Master Rong and Rong Yunnan, leaving her daughter to talk to Murong Shu.

It was not until after dinner that Rong Qing and Rong Shu left under the reluctant gaze of Rong's mother.

There were two carriages when they came, and five when they went back. Rong's mother wanted to empty the warehouse. If Murong Shu hadn't stopped her, they could probably have loaded ten carriages.

On the way back in the carriage, Murong Shusheng leaned against his second aunt helplessly. Rong Qing saw that his niece was not in a good mood and thought that she was tired from going out today, so he asked with concern:

"Shu'er is really tired today. It's Second Aunt's fault for not being considerate enough."

"Second Aunt, Grandma Rong is too enthusiastic. I can't handle it. With so many gifts, it's like we're robbing someone."

Rong Qing was stunned by Murong Shu's words, but then he reacted and asked uncertainly, "Shu'er, do you think there are too many gifts?"

Murong Shusheng nodded helplessly, and Rong Qing was amused.

"This is just the beginning. My mother wants to move the entire warehouse to you. Shu'er, you have to get used to it. My mother likes girls. This time, you not only satisfied her fantasy, but also cured my second brother. It's normal for my mother to be a little enthusiastic."

"Second Aunt, you call this a little bit of enthusiasm?"

"Don't worry, my mother is rich. She has the key to our storehouse. You have to get used to it, Shu'er. It's her fault that she didn't have a granddaughter. Now that one is finally here, she's going to spoil her as much as she can."

"Then you and uncle should try harder and give me a younger sister to share the burden."

"You, if we could give birth, we would still need you to urge us!" Rong Qing sighed deeply.

"Why can't you give birth? You and your second uncle are still young, you can still try harder!"

"No, my mother-in-law said that my eldest brother has used up all the blessings of our ancestors for eight generations to give birth to a daughter like you. Your second uncle is no longer able to do so. We have all accepted our fate. Second Aunt doesn't care. From now on, you will be Second Aunt's little cotton-padded jacket!"

"Why don't I go back and help my second uncle? I have a secret recipe for having a daughter!" Rong Shu said mischievously.

"Stop it now. There are already three people who are causing trouble. If there is another one, I am afraid I will die. Please spare me! And don't tell your second uncle about the secret recipe for giving birth to a daughter!"

"Hahaha, Second Aunt, you are so cute. Did Second Uncle go through so much trouble to have a younger sister?"

"Oh, let's not talk about it!" Rong Qing really didn't want to mention what her husband had done.

"Okay, Second Aunt, tell me, we don't have anything to do in the carriage anyway!" Murong Shu's gossipy heart was instantly aroused, and she pulled Rong Qing to act coquettishly.

"Your personality is somewhat similar to your second uncle's. You are interested in everyone's fun. Second Auntie told you not to tell your second uncle later, otherwise I will be the one who suffers!"

"Second aunt, don't worry, I'll just gossip for a bit, and I promise I won't ask Second Uncle." Murong almost swore to the sky.

After getting Murong Shu's assurance, Rong Qing told her little niece in detail all the stupid things her husband had done in the past few years in trying to have a daughter.

Murong Shu couldn't help laughing out loud after hearing this. It wasn't because she lacked self-control, but because her second uncle was just too funny.

"Second Aunt, does Second Uncle still have obsessions now?"

"I've had enough of this. I guess I've given up!"

"It's a good thing that my second uncle married my second aunt. If she had a bad temper, my second uncle would have been beaten to death!" Murong Shu couldn't help but sigh.

"You girl." Rong Qing felt a little embarrassed when being praised by his little niece.

"I'm telling the truth. Marrying my second aunt is not only a blessing for my second uncle, but also a blessing for me. Otherwise, how could I have such a good second aunt?"

"It is my blessing to be your second aunt." This was Rong Qing's sincere words, and they smiled at each other after saying it.

"Second Madam, Fifth Miss, we can't move forward!" The coachman's voice came from outside the carriage.

"What happened?" Rong Qing asked anxiously.

"It looks like the Wen mansion's carriage has bumped into us. Should we nod?" the coachman asked uncertainly.

"Turn around!" Rong Qing got a headache thinking about how her husband and the second master of the Wen family disliked each other all day long. In order to avoid trouble, she quickly ordered the driver to turn around.

In the carriage opposite.

"Third brother, your bell... rang... It... actually... rang, third brother, pinch me." The second master of the Wen family was so excited that he was incoherent. The man sitting opposite him was also full of disbelief.
