When Mu Shicang came out of the manager's office, he suddenly wanted to check out the market downstairs. The manager enthusiastically showed him the way, but this was originally a relatively affordable convenience store, and the downstairs area was mostly farmers' markets, so the environment wasn't particularly good. The manager was worried that he might not feel comfortable, so he warned him in advance: "Mr. Mu, the environment downstairs might not be very good, especially the seafood and meat areas. Please be mentally prepared."
Mu Shicang smiled and nodded: "Of course, you have a good customer flow here. I wonder what the shop owners downstairs think about the acquisition and the resettlement after the acquisition. I can go and take a look."
The manager bent over and smiled, a flash of nervousness crossing his face as he wiped the sweat off his forehead. "Everyone is very satisfied with the placement. Mr. Xiao Mu's time is precious, so just leave these matters to us."
Mu Shicang pushed his glasses up, looked down at the manager beside him and smiled with what seemed to be satisfaction: "I feel relieved when the manager says that."
The manager was about to breathe a sigh of relief when he saw him raise his hand and lift the heavy plastic curtain hanging on the door of the market downstairs.
The manager stared at him blankly as he walked in, his eyes clearly saying: Master Xiao Mu, you have no moral integrity. You clearly said you could rest assured.
Farmers' markets generally appear dirty and messy, and the entire space is filled with various smells. Vegetables, fruits, dry seasonings, meat, and seafood emit indescribable smells in the enclosed space.
But this is often the place with the heaviest sense of life, because it is necessary for human survival.
Mu Shicang actually has a lot of problems in his life, but when it comes to work, he has never been pretentious like some other rich people. No matter what the environment is, if he feels it is necessary, he will do it himself.
In recent years, there have been constant disputes between developers and the public. He takes this matter very seriously, partly for the sake of Muyuan Group's image, and partly because of his principles.
When you walk into the market, you will feel the ground under your feet is so wet that it can stir up water. This is a fishery area and the ground never dries up all year round. In some places, there is even water. If you are not careful, water will roll up your trouser legs.
The manager followed behind and suddenly shouted, "Boss Mu, be careful."
But he was still a step too late. He saw a thin man wearing an apron that most meat stall owners wear. He lowered his head and bumped into Mu Shicang's arm, then walked away without even saying sorry.
The manager came forward quickly, looking panicked, and asked, "Boss Mu, Boss Mu, are you okay?"
Mu Shicang smiled and shook his head, staring at the man's back, and said, "It's okay."
After saying that, he hurried into the market.
Mu Shicang walked very slowly. He even went to a fish stall to ask about the price. He was dressed in a suit and tie, with outstanding looks and elegant temperament, which seemed out of place in the whole environment. The fish seller was a woman in her thirties. When she saw him, her eyes lit up and she said, "Twenty-eight per pound. If you want to buy it, handsome guy, I'll give you a discount."
Mu Shicang was not angered by the woman's teasing words, but the manager was scared. Do you know who this person is in front of you? How dare he be so coquettish?
"Sister, this fish is very fresh. I saw it selling for more than fifty gold coins at Delshang before. Can you make money selling it at this price?" Mu Shicang adapted to the local customs and spoke in a very down-to-earth manner.
The fishmonger's smile widened, and she waved her hand, saying, "What kind of place is Del Mall? A pair of socks there costs at least three figures. But these prices will only last for a year or so. I heard we're going to be acquired, and they'll build a bigger mall. I guess the rent will be higher, and prices will have to go up accordingly. Handsome guy, it's best to grab the bargains early."
Mu Shicang nodded, then said with a smile: "It's not convenient to buy goods during working hours now..."
At this point, an idea suddenly occurred to him, and he continued, "My wife will come over to buy your goods. This fish is really fresh."
If someone asked her not to buy it under normal circumstances, the elder sister would definitely be unhappy, but since the handsome guy didn’t buy it, the elder sister didn’t think it was a big deal. Instead, she thought it was a pity that the handsome guy got married so early.
"How much is this fish per pound?"
When Mu Shicang turned around, a familiar voice suddenly came from behind him. He turned around abruptly and then stood there in surprise.
She was not only surprised to meet Yang Shushu here, but also to find Yu Xinggui with her, and -
His gaze slowly slid down along Yu Xinggui's arm and stopped at their clasped hands. Then his beautiful peach blossom eyes narrowed into a line in an instant, and the manager next to him almost fell to the ground in fright.
What's going on? Did that woman's words just now still make Xiao Muye unhappy? But isn't this reaction arc a little longer?
Yang Shushu was quite thick-skinned and just lowered her head to pick the fish. However, Yu Xinggui was extremely sensitive due to his own problems, especially to other people's gazes. He almost noticed Mu Shicang's gaze at once, and then met Mu Shicang's eyes at the first moment.
His feelings towards Mu Shicang were just as he described them.
Awe.
Respect and fear.
At this moment, when his eyes met Mu Shicang's, he still felt a little guilty, which he was not quite aware of. His first instinctive action was to withdraw his hand, lower his head, and dared not look Mu Shicang in the eye, but he wanted to remind Yang Shushu.
Yang Shushu was picking fish and didn't pay attention to this detail at all. Her hand loosened, so she simply used both hands. Even though Mu Shicang was standing next to her, she didn't notice and thought he was another buyer. She pointed at a fish and turned to ask Yu Xinggui on the other side: "Xiao Yu, what do you think of this one? It looks fresh and has a nice face."
