Chapter 2 The Damned Husband

She was startled and suddenly jumped up, pushed the man away, and sat up straight on the bed. She looked around anxiously and panickedly, and then she noticed that the configuration of this ward was not something she could afford at all.

But this was not the time to think about these things. Her eyes happened to fall on the phone on the bedside table. Without thinking, she grabbed it. The man was a little startled by her series of actions and did not react for a while. When he wanted to save his phone, Yang Shushu had already held the phone in her hand.

She didn't turn on her phone, but just took a picture of her face with the black screen. After looking at it for three seconds, her hand suddenly loosened and the phone fell on the bed. She sat on the bed in a daze, not moving for a long time.

No matter how the man called her, she didn't even give him a glance until her stomach began to protest, and she slowly came back to her senses. By then, the sun was setting, and there was no one in the ward except her.

During the few hours she was in a daze, Yang Shushu had figured out everything. The face she saw now was not hers at all, but the face of the girl named Yang Shushu whom she had seen all her life. As for why she, who had fallen from the 17th floor and died, came back to life in Yang Shushu's body, this mysterious thing could no longer be explained.

I remember that gentle and ethereal voice in the darkness at that time. That should be the real voice of Yang Shushu, right?

She just left like that? Left without a trace of regret? What about her parents? I remember she must have had a very happy family, a pair of parents who loved her, something she could never ask for in her life. So Yang Shushu just gave up on her?

She couldn't understand why life was so short, just a few decades, and she had to leave her loved ones behind and die like this. Did she ever think about how sad her parents would be?

Ah! Yes, in that image, she saw Yang Shushu, heartbroken and dead after her childhood sweetheart disappeared without a trace after failing to elope with him.

But, this still doesn't mean it's that bad, right? Is it worth dying for a man who has abandoned you?

Yang Shushu asked back, but her heart ached, as if the thought of that man would pull a painful nerve in her heart.

She clutched her chest helplessly. This must be the remaining emotion of Yang Shushu. She patted her gently, as if to comfort her: "Don't cry, they are not worth your tears. Don't worry, I will live well and happily, and will never let you be bullied or hurt again."

As if sensing her comfort, the pain in his heart slowly subsided, and his stomach started growling again.

Yang Shushu climbed down from the bed. When she moved her hand, she saw the bandaged wound on her left wrist. She could still feel a faint pain there, but she didn't care. She supported herself with one hand and got off the bed, ready to find something to eat. Just then, the door opened.

She looked towards the door and saw the man who was now supposed to be her husband again.

Mu Shicang stood at the door and looked at Yang Shushu who was about to get out of bed. Their eyes met again, and at this time Mu Shicang once again noticed the strange look in those eyes.

Normally, Yang Shushu hardly dared to look him in the eye. Every time she saw him, her eyes would avoid him. However, after Yang Shushu committed suicide and woke up again, she would look directly into his eyes every time. There was confusion and vigilance in her eyes, but no fear.

"What are you going to do?" Mu Shicang walked over.

Yang Shushu wanted to roll her eyes, but thinking about Yang Shushu's personality in the video, she didn't want to arouse suspicion, so she lowered her head and whispered, "I'm thirsty."

After saying that, she slowly picked up the kettle on the bedside, poured herself a glass of water, and drank it in one breath. At this time, her smoking throat was finally moisturized, and the whole person felt like she had walked out of the desert, and she felt much better.

However, she wanted to eat something more. She didn't know how long this body had been unconscious, but her stomach felt empty enough to hold two pigs.

While drinking water, she could feel Mu Shicang's eyes following her. She was actually quite nervous. If she was discovered that the soul in her body was no longer the same as before, she didn't know whether she would be thrown to a Taoist priest to be exorcised or sent to a research institute to be a guinea pig. She didn't want to be either of those, so she could only try her best to pretend to be the original Yang Shushu.

After drinking the water, she sat back on the bed. She was so hungry that she was almost going crazy, but she had to stick to her character and act like she was afraid of Mu Shicang.

But it is easy to paint the skin and bones, but difficult to paint the soul. Everyone's soul is different, and what is learned by force is always lacking something, not to mention that she is not an actor at all. In Mu Shicang's eyes, what is different about Yang Shushu after she woke up? He couldn't tell what was different, but he just had this feeling.

The ward fell into silence. Yang Shushu's stomach rumbled with hunger. The sound was particularly clear in the quiet ward. She covered her stomach and finally looked at Mu Shicang: "Um... can I have something to eat?"

She spoke timidly, but this timidity was accompanied by a certain agility, which was another difference that Mu Shicang discovered.

He didn't say anything, turned around and walked out. Yang Shushu thought he didn't want to care, so she called him anxiously: "Hey, can you notify my parents and ask them to come over... to take care of me."

Her voice was very soft and seemed to tremble, as if she was afraid, but this fear seemed to be missing something. Others might not be able to feel it, but Mu Shicang felt that something was different.

He turned his head and suddenly smiled at her: "Aren't you afraid that your parents will worry about you if they find out you're committing suicide?"

"..." In other words, her parents didn't even know she committed suicide? Damn it, are you afraid that her parents will worry about me, or are you afraid that your parents will find out you're a scumbag and kill you?

If it were the Yang Shushu of the past, she would have definitely acquiesced, so the current Yang Shushu had no choice but to suffer in frustration. She lowered her head, turned around, turned her back to the door, and gritted her teeth gently.

Mu Shicang looked at the thin figure. Usually, that figure looked weak and timid, but at this moment, the same figure looked like an upright knife, inexplicably sharp.

He was a little confused. Why did he feel this way?

Soon, Mu Shicang came back, but he had nothing in his hands. Yang Shushu was very disappointed, so she simply closed her eyes and lay down again.

At this time, Mu Shicang seemed not to feel her rejection. He sat down on the edge of the bed and pulled up her hand that was placed on the side of her body with one hand. Yang Shushu's body stiffened. She wanted to pull it back, but she held back and did not move.

"Shushu, you and I have been married for more than a year, you should know me well. This is the first and last time. You can give up your life, but what about your parents? Don't you want their lives too?"

When he saw Yang Shushu's body tremble slightly, his smile widened: "Isn't it? So, you must be obedient in the future, and don't let the same thing happen a second time, otherwise... hehe..."

His laughter was as gentle as the spring breeze, but Yang Shushu clearly felt the threat coming from deep within her soul.

This pervert is no joke.
