Chapter 32: The First Husband

After she finished speaking, the whole living room fell silent, including Mu Shicang's face, which showed an indescribable expression.

What do you mean by not suitable for children? Are you going to kill and dismember people in public?

Feeling Mu Shicang's gaze, Yang Shushu tilted her head, looking unusually innocent: "Husband, don't look at me like that. Since childhood, our teachers have taught us to respect the elderly and love the young. I'm worried that I'm setting a bad example."

Everyone: "..." So what do you want to do?

Mu Shicang was a little confused by the word "husband". They had been married for a year, and he only regarded her as a tool to be used one day, while she had someone else in her heart. He always called her by her first name, and she never called him "husband". Now, when he heard the word "husband", he actually felt a bit of sticky sweetness. He thought he would feel uncomfortable listening to it, but the fact was the opposite.

Mu Shicang was so stunned by this sudden feeling that he didn't react for a moment. After being stunned for a while, the others slowly came back to their senses. Mu Shilian was the first to speak, still wearing his hypocritical smile: "Shushu, that's my aunt, you..."

Yang Shushu didn't even glance at him, her smile immediately disappearing. "I say, respect the elderly, but this old lady doesn't seem to possess that. I haven't seen any of her virtues as an elderly person. She has lived to such an old age, but she doesn't even know the most basic respect for others. I think she should be sent to kindergarten and re-educated."

Yang Shushu spoke word by word, staring at Mu Chunyu, watching her face turn from pale to blue and then red, and finally her whole body exploded. She jumped up from the sofa with a lightness that was unbelievable for her age, and reached out to grab Yang Shushu's hair that fell on her chest: "Little bitch, how dare you..."

Yang Shushu suddenly stepped back, then grabbed the hand that Mu Chunyu extended. This hand did not look like the hand of a seventy-year-old woman. There were no age spots, nor old bones. Instead, it was quite plump and delicate, and the skin was even much better than some women who were younger than her but had been working on the front line for many years.

Yang Shushu glanced at the hand and curled her lips, but did not let go: "Old lady, you are so old, don't be so angry. You came in to accuse me, let's talk about whose crime it is first."

After she finished speaking, she glanced at Chi Ling vaguely. Although she was not as perceptive as Mu Shicang, Chi Ling's guilt was too obvious. Anyone with a little bit of wisdom would have guessed that there was something wrong with her.

Chi Ling was startled and tightened her arms around her son. Mu Shilian frowned and stopped smiling: "Yang Shushu, this is not the place for you to be released. Let go of your aunt."

Yang Shushu glanced at him. She didn't have a good impression of her second uncle at first sight. Although he didn't say or do anything, this man had a smiling face, but the greed in his eyes was too shallow to be easily seen through. Yang Shushu felt that there was a reason why Old Master Mu chose to select an heir from a different generation. A man like Mu Shilian might have some means, but they would only be superficial tricks, or even inferior, and he obviously lacked courage.

Old Master Mu did love Mu Shicang and wanted him to inherit, but as an elder, he didn't even have the courage to firmly oppose it in front of Mu Shicang. Mu Shicang was directly pointing fingers at his daughter-in-law who was suspicious of him.

She felt a little sympathetic towards Old Master Mu. He had lived a very distinguished life. She didn't know what his eldest son was like, but the remaining two sons were really not very decent.

"Second uncle, Shushu is just helping my aunt, don't be so excited?" Mu Shicang looked at Mu Shilian with a smile. There was no flaw on his handsome face. If you were to say it was a mask, this was a perfect mask.

Yang Shushu glanced at him. It felt like the two of them were going to the battlefield back to back, which was quite interesting.

Mu Shilian was so angry that his face turned black: "A Cang, she doesn't understand the rules, don't you understand them either? Do you really have to wake the old man up?"

Yang Shushu shook her head with some regret. Mu Shilian was really hopeless. He brought up Old Master Mu again. As an uncle, he couldn't control his nephew, and he wanted to ask his father for help, as if he was a kid fighting outside.

Mu Chunyu had lived for so many years and no one had dared to treat her like this, especially a poor girl who had always been treated like an ant by her. At this moment, she was so angry that she had completely forgotten that she came here specifically to cause trouble for Mu Shicang and to help her nephew by the way.

The old lady had forgotten the upbringing of a lady of noble birth over the years. While one of her hands was still held by Yang Shushu, she slapped Yang Shushu in the face with the other hand like a shrew. Yang Shushu's attention was not on her for a moment, and she was hit right on the spot. The crisp sound of "slap" made the whole living room quiet.

Yang Shushu's head was slapped to the side, and the red mark on her cheek was clearly visible. She didn't move for a moment, her head half lowered, her eyelids drooping, and her semi-long hair covering half of her face, making it impossible to see her expression at the moment.

But most people sneered, especially Chi Ling and Mu Qingyi. In their opinion, Yang Shushu should be obedient now. It looked like she would be convinced by a slap. Just now, she looked like she really thought she was so great that she dared to attack an old lady.

Mu Shicang sat in his original position without moving, but his hands unconsciously clenched into fists. Yang Shushu had always been troubled in the Mu family. He knew it, but he was just too lazy to care. Sometimes he even felt happy watching her suffer. After all, his pain over the years was not unrelated to her.

But now, as he watched Yang Shushu being beaten and keeping silent with her head down, he felt strangely depressed. He felt that this might be just like the toys he had in his hands when he was a child. No matter what shape he took it into, even if it was broken, it was his own doing and he was happy with it.

But now someone wants to take apart his toys in front of him, how can he do that?

The fist slowly loosened, and Mu Shicang's legs moved. At this moment, Mu Chunyu reached out again, and his originally gentle eyebrows instantly turned cold: "Stop..."

But before he could utter the second word, Yang Shushu, who had been standing there motionless, suddenly raised her hand, caught Mu Chunyu's hand, and pushed him hard onto the sofa. When Mu Chunyu fell onto the sofa, she immediately leaned forward and squeezed Mu Chunyu into the sofa. One leg was half-kneeling on the sofa, and the other hand was directly pinching Mu Chunyu's neck. She looked down at Mu Chunyu's eyes, which were like an old cat with its fur standing on end, with an absolutely dominant attitude, and said in a deep voice: "Old woman, don't think I won't take action against you. Your Mu family is so proud. I will beat you up now. You will definitely not dare to let this matter spread."

Everyone in the living room could hear her words. In a way, she was right. The Mu family would not let outsiders know about what happened today.
