Chapter 9 Qi Yunshen's First Headache
Qi Zhenzhen only woke up when they were about to arrive at the Duke's Mansion.
Before Qi Yunshen got out of the car, he covered Qi Zhenzhen from head to toe with a small blue cloak.
The servants in the mansion reported that Princess Yude suddenly decided to go to Baichen Temple in the afternoon and was expected to return tomorrow.
Qi Yunshen did not stop, but the coldness in his eyes became even more intense.
The father and daughter had dinner together.
Before Qi Zhenzhen was two years old, she lived in Qi Yunshen's Luoya Residence. After her birthday two years ago, Qi Yunshen placed his daughter in the neighboring Zhining Courtyard. The two courtyards were separated by only a wall, and a hanging flower gate was opened in the middle. Walking through a long grape corridor, you can reach Zhining Courtyard.
Dinner was first served at Luoya Residence. Qi Zhenzhen has always had a good appetite. Although she has been treated like a treasure by the Duke's Mansion since she was a child, her eating habits are not extravagant.
After dinner, Qi Yunshen sent his daughter back to Zhiningyuan.
Qi Zhenzhen raised a lot of living creatures. There used to be a large area of abandoned wooden houses behind Zhining Courtyard. The Duke of Zhenguo waved his hand and transformed it into a large animal viewing park for his granddaughter. First, a large wooden fence separated two open spaces. One of them housed a few alpacas and the other housed a white peacock. These were kept in captivity. Normally, when Qi Zhenzhen was in Zhining Courtyard, he would occasionally let his little friends out.
Even if they are not released, these creatures can run wild in their respective pens.
The only two free-range animals were a wolfhound and a large yellow cat sent as tribute from the Western Regions.
As soon as Qi Zhenzhen returned, cats and dogs came to greet their little master following the scent.
The coastal areas have developed trade, and Qi Yunshen brought back a lot of rare treasures for his daughter this time. Qi Yunshen helped his daughter to unpack a few toys, and Qi Zhenzhen looked sleepy and lay in Qi Yunshen's arms to sleep.
Qi Yunshen carried the little girl back to the dormitory, and Zizhu brought another bowl of black medicine.
Zizhu: "Miss, let's go to bed after drinking."
Qi Zhenzhen frowned, quickly picked up the bowl and gulped down the drink, then ate a sweet date smoothly, washed up, and fell asleep peacefully while hugging the rabbit pillow.
Qi Yunshen left only after Qi Zhenzhen fell asleep.
Luoyaju, study.
Qingying: "Sir, one assassin was left alive, and the rest have been dealt with. That group of people ostensibly came to look for the Saint of Xixia, but she has long been abandoned. I suspect they are after the grain transportation map for Xiazhou."
Ten years ago, the border of Daliang was unstable. The Western Xia in the west burned, killed, looted and attacked border towns; there was a severe cold in the north, and the Turks in the north went south to fight for food and grass. The people were living in dire straits. Most of the court's troops were sent to the border, but the emperor's brother, Prince Chenliu, who was in the south of the Yangtze River, took advantage of the chaos and entered the capital without an imperial edict to force the emperor to abdicate. He was suppressed by the troops led by the Duke of Zhenguo. Finally, Prince Chenliu forced the empress dowager to leave the city and fled west with his wives, concubines and children.
It is known in history as the Chenliu Rebellion.
In the face of power, there are no brothers, no mothers and no children.
After this ordeal, the Queen Mother's old illness relapsed, and she seemed ready to pass away. Two years later, news arrived from Western Xia that, in gratitude for Prince Chenliu's surrender, they had specially appointed him as Prince Gaoyang.
The emperor was furious. He accused Prince Chenliu of treason and betrayal, and was unworthy of being a descendant of the Xiao family. He completely removed Prince Chenliu and his family from the royal book of records.
The Western Xia Saint who came to Beijing four years ago was the daughter of King Gaoyang.
The air in the room was thick with incense. Looking out the small window of the study, one could just see a large expanse of Merlin, its branches still bare. Moonlight streamed in from the window, making Qi Yunshen's face appear unusually pale. He lowered his gaze slightly, toying with the wooden horse between his slender, powerful fingers, and said calmly, "The day after tomorrow, we'll catch them all in one fell swoop."
The day after tomorrow is Princess Yude’s 45th birthday. The banquet will be held at the Princess’s Mansion, and many celebrities from the capital will be invited.
Qingying: "Sir, spies in Shu have reported that an old man has appeared in Jiazhou, Shu. His appearance and figure are believed to be Dr. Gu. I have sent someone to escort him to the capital."
After a while, a "hmm" sound came from behind the case.
Doctor Gu is Xu Jingyang's master. Qingying left the study and sighed in his heart. The prince is thinking about his wife again. Since he discovered that the young lady had a mouth disease, the prince has sought out many famous doctors, but they were helpless. Either they could not cure it, or the young lady herself did not want to talk about it.
Bullshit, a bunch of quacks.
Thinking of the poison in the prince's body, Qingying sighed heavily again.
At one o'clock in the morning, Qi Yunshen was awakened by a headache. It felt like a silver needle was drilling into the back of his head. Qi Yunshen's face turned pale, and he closed his eyes and then opened them again.
Suddenly, Qi Yunshen spat out a mouthful of black blood.
-
A night passed.
Jiang Yunzheng went out early in the morning.
The purpose of Jiang Yunzheng's trip was to visit the former owner's home in Anrenfang. Not long after the original owner married into the Shi Mansion, Jiang's father drank too much in the middle of the night and fell into the river and died. The Jiang family was no longer empty.
Walking through the cobblestone alley, Jiang Yunzheng pushed open the door of Jiang's house. The yard was overgrown with weeds, and some bamboo baskets used to dry herbs were tilted under the eaves.
Jiang Yunzheng walked around and finally walked into Jiang's father's pharmacy. A row of shelves opposite the door were filled with medical books.
Unexpectedly, there were quite a few ancient medical books on this shelf, some of which were even the ones that the master had been looking for. Jiang Yunzheng stayed in the pharmacy until noon, collected several medical books and took them away, and finally locked the door of the Jiang family.
After leaving Anrenfang, Jiang Yunzheng went to the pharmacy to buy medicinal herbs. As soon as he walked out, a figure suddenly caught his eye.
It was Mrs. Zhang, who was by Qin's side. She looked around and walked into the money shop.
Jiang Yunzheng bought a bamboo hat and sat down at a wonton stall outside the bank. After a while, Mrs. Zhang was driven out by the waiter inside.
"Tell your master that if you can't come up with the money, don't blame us for suing you!"
"Hey, little brother, please keep your voice down. We will pay you back."
Jiang Yunzheng ate the last piece of wonton. It turned out that Qin was eager to sell her because she owed money to the bank.
Borrowed money from a loan shark and lent it out at high interest rates?
Gambled it away?
You don't dare tell Ishida about the loss in business?
Several guesses were lingering in Jiang Yunzheng's mind. Suddenly, the sound of a whip was heard in the air.
A man dressed as a scholar fell to the ground with a cry of pain, pointing his finger at the opposite side: "In broad daylight, lynching is abused. I will report to the authorities—"
Jiang Yunzheng glanced back calmly.
A young man with a delicate figure, red lips and white teeth came forward with a whip in his hand, squatted down and grabbed the scholar by the collar. Next to the young man stood a young girl of the same height.
The young man gritted his teeth and said, "Say another word to me!"
Voices of dissuasion kept coming from all around, "Mr. Sun, please watch your mouth."
The young master surnamed Sun blushed crimson and glared, "I'm not wrong! Xu Jingyang was able to marry into the Duke of Zhenguo's mansion by seducing the Crown Prince. Otherwise, why would someone of such status marry a fool?"
Jiang Yunzheng slowly put down the teacup, a sneer appearing at the corner of his mouth.
The young man was furious when he heard that. He pulled out his whip and lashed at Young Master Sun. His force was not strong and only a muffled groan was heard.
Young Master Sun's eyes rolled back and he fell to the ground.
"Oh my God! Murder!"
"Oh my God, go call the doctor!"
Young Master Sun's companion hurriedly said, "Come on, quickly arrest this murderer! We need to report him to the police!"
The young girl snorted coldly: "Report it to the police if you want, who's afraid of who?"
