Auditions may have become a part of daily life for many veteran actors and artists, but for new artist Chu Chu, it is undoubtedly a brand new experience.
It was her first time standing in front of the camera, facing the flashing lights and cameras, and everything seemed so strange and nervous.
After repeated attempts and adjustments, Chuchu finally found her rhythm and knew when to look directly at the camera and when to look away to present a more natural performance.
However, the arduous process made Chuchu's little face reveal a hint of disappointment. During a break, she whispered to her mother, Song Yaqing, who was accompanying her, "Mom, I don't think I might like this job."
Song Yaqing looked at her daughter's slightly tired face and responded with a smile: "Chuchu, no matter what job you do, it will not be easy. Every profession has its challenges and hardships. You are learning and growing now. This is a necessary process. As long as you work hard, you will find the fun and sense of accomplishment."
Song Yaqing thought, since I'm here, I should give it a try.
And everyone on the set said that Chuchu was very talented.
Chu Chu was still a little unsure: "I think I was chosen, right?"
Song Yaqing smiled and nodded, "You're just a kid, and I've only been teaching you how to act. Just be more natural and say the lines naturally."
Chuchu smiled and said, "Well, think about it, I don't have to go to kindergarten, and I can earn money to buy gifts for my mom, which is not bad."
Song Yaqing didn't know what to say. "Chu Chu, going to school isn't that bad. It's not what you think. However, with your current abilities, it doesn't matter if you don't go to school. If you want to play here, then go ahead and play for a while. What Mom is worried about is who will accompany you when I have to go to work?"
Chuchu learned a lot about things online: "Tianyi and Qingtian are both fine. I don't need anyone to accompany me. Don't I have assistants and agents? Should I sign with an agency and let them arrange my schedule and assistants? Then you don't have to worry about it."
Song Yaqing thought to herself that since she had come this far, she should give Chuchu a chance. Moreover, on the set, both the director and other actors praised Chuchu for her outstanding talent.
However, Chuchu was still a little unconfident. She asked hesitantly, "Mom, can I really be chosen?"
Yaqing smiled and gently stroked Chuchu's head. "Of course you can. You're the only child here. All those auditions were to help you master your acting skills. You need to relax and act naturally, and the lines will flow out naturally."
Chuchu smiled brightly, "Okay, I'll give it a try. Besides, if I don't go to kindergarten, I can still earn money to buy gifts for my mother. It's a good idea to think about it."
Song Yaqing didn't know what to say. She sighed softly, "Chu Chu, although school can be boring sometimes, it's actually a lot of fun. Besides, in school, you can meet many friends of your age and learn more. Of course, Mom knows that you are capable of handling the current situation, but Mom is still worried. If I have to go to work, who will take care of you?"
Chuchu thought for a moment and replied, "Mom, don't worry. I've learned a little about this, and Tianyi, Qingtian and the others can help me. Besides, I'll have an assistant and an agent. I'm thinking about signing with an agency and letting them arrange my schedule and assistant, so you don't have to worry so much."
Song Yaqing had heard about this business before and said she needed to be cautious: "Don't rush into signing the contract. You have to choose a reliable company."
The voice of a staff member came from outside, clear and direct: "Ms. Song, it's time for Chuchu to put on makeup. Please bring the young actor to the dressing room."
Song Yaqing responded, quickly finished the business at hand, then took her daughter's hand and walked towards the dressing room.
In the dressing room, two actresses are concentrating on preparing their makeup, and the light in front of the mirror highlights their delicate faces.
Upon seeing Chuchu, the busy makeup artists couldn't help but stop their work and exclaimed in admiration: "Is this Chuchu? She is truly naturally beautiful and hardly needs any modification."
"Chu Chu, just go find the costume designer later and change your clothes." The makeup artist suggested with a smile.
At this moment, Song Yaqing's cell phone suddenly rang. She glanced at her daughter apologetically and said softly, "Mom is going to answer the phone and will be back soon."
Chuchu nodded obediently, and was then led by the staff to an empty dressing table. She sat there quietly, looking at everything around her curiously.
One of the actresses noticed Chuchu's gaze, her brows furrowed slightly, and her tone was very cold: "Little boy, didn't your mother teach you? Staring at others like this is a bit rude."
After hearing this, Chu Chu immediately retracted her gaze. She blinked innocently and retorted softly: "Auntie, I wasn't looking at you. I was looking at that sister. She looked so beautiful with makeup on."
After hearing Chu Chu's words, Chen Qin's face instantly turned ugly. She turned her head abruptly and asked dissatisfiedly, "What did you say? Who are you calling auntie? I'm obviously younger than her."
Chuchu blinked her eyes and said innocently, "But Aunt Chen, you do look a little more mature, while Aunt Bai looks younger and more energetic."
Bai Jing smiled slightly after being praised, trying to diffuse the awkward atmosphere: "Chu Chu, you should just call me Auntie. We are almost thirty years old. Besides, in this drama, I do have to play your aunt."
Chuchu smiled sweetly, approached Bai Jing and said, "Okay, Aunt Bai. You are really beautiful, I still want to call you sister. In this drama, are you going to play my sister?"
Everyone present could tell from Chuchu's words that she was deliberately teasing Chen Qin. The atmosphere instantly became tense, and everyone wanted to laugh but didn't dare.
Chen Qin's face flushed with anger. She stood up abruptly, shook off the makeup artist's hand, and said angrily, "I'm going to find the director right now and ask him to replace you! I'm the heroine of this drama, playing your mother, but I don't need a daughter like you right now!"
Chuchu was not at all flustered. She smiled sweetly and responded, "Aunt Chen, are you going to play my mother? But I don't think we look much like mother and daughter. But it doesn't matter. I will try my best to cooperate with you and strive to make you, the 'stepmother', look more like your biological daughter."
Chen Qin was completely pissed off.
