Chapter 506 I Know

Chuchu's steps were heavy as she slowly walked out of the heavy hospital door, each one seeming to carry a heavy burden. Although the sun was shining brightly outside, and the breeze was bringing a touch of coolness, her heart felt as if shrouded by a thick, dark cloud, unable to find a single ray of light. The heaviness and sadness seemed so heavy that even sunlight couldn't penetrate.

Everything inside the hospital, the cold medical instruments gleaming with a chilling metallic luster, the pungent smell of medicine lingering in the air, made people frown involuntarily. And then there were the heavy discussions about life and death, the anxious and desperate looks in the patients' eyes—all deeply etched in Chuchu's heart.

All this made her realize more deeply the fragility and impermanence of life, as if every moment could become eternal.

Chuchu's steps didn't stop. She didn't want to return to the Han family she once called "home." From the moment she decided to move out, she knew she could never go back. That home, for her, had become a cage filled with memories and pain.

However, just when she was about to face it all alone, an unexpected phone call broke her peace. Rong Lin, the man who lent a helping hand when she was most helpless, called the assistant directly and transferred 100 million yuan to Chu Chu's account.

His voice came through the phone line, with a hint of subtle concern: "Wait until you get back the street your grandfather gave you, then transfer the money. If Han Nanze doesn't go to get the marriage certificate, call me and I'll take care of it. I'll take care of everything, don't worry."

Chuchu nodded slightly, even though Ronglin couldn't see it, but she still made this gesture subconsciously. She knew in her heart that she was no longer the same Chuchu, the Chuchu who had been weak and helpless.

Chuchu has moved away from the place full of memories and pain. She understands that once she takes that step, there will be no turning back.

Everything about the Han family, from its superficial glamour to the hidden undercurrents, left her exhausted. Especially the time she was violently assaulted by her adoptive father, nearly leaving an indelible scar on her head. The fear and despair she felt still linger in her mind. Then, she was summoned to the Han family again, facing endless accusations and humiliation. All of this completely destroyed her attachment to that home.

Just as Chuchu was immersed in her thoughts, the cell phone rang suddenly, interrupting her meditation.

The name displayed on the screen was Rong Lin, the man who gradually occupied an important position in her heart. Chu Chu hesitated for a moment, but still pressed the answer button.

"Chu Chu, how's the situation over there?" Rong Lin's voice came through the phone line, with a hint of barely perceptible concern and anxiety.

"It's okay, everything is fine," Chuchu replied softly, trying to make her voice sound calm and firm. She didn't want Rong Lin to worry about her, and she didn't want to be a burden to him.

"That's good. I've already had the money transferred to your account. One hundred million should be enough to solve your current predicament."

Chuchu's heart warmed. She knew what this money meant to her now. It wasn't just a huge fortune, but also Rong Lin's trust and support. This trust and support gave her unprecedented strength and courage. "Thank you, Rong Lin. But, about that street..." She mentioned the legacy left to her by her grandfather—a bustling commercial street, an asset that the Han family had always coveted.

The next day, Chuchu unexpectedly ran into Han Nanze in the hospital. He looked disheveled, with visible scars on his face, clearly from a conflict. Chuchu was surprised, but also puzzled. She didn't understand why Han Nanze was there, and even more so why he had become like this.

It wasn't until Han Nanze spoke that she realized Rong Lin was the instigator of all this. It turned out that Rong Lin, in order to help Chuchu gain more rights and benefits, had clashed with Han Nanze and even assaulted him. This moved Chuchu, yet also worried her. She didn't know how much Rong Lin would sacrifice for her, and even more so, whether it was worth it.

"Chu Chu, I agree to a divorce." Han Nanze's voice was low and hoarse, his eyes flickering with complex emotions. He may have once had sincere feelings for Chu Chu, but now he has been blinded by interests and desires. "I will also return that half of the street to you."

Chuchu looked at Han Nanze with mixed feelings. She didn't know whether to be glad that she had finally escaped this unhappy marriage, or to feel sympathy and pity for Han Nanze's experience. But she knew that no matter what, this marriage had come to an end.

With Rong Lin's help, Chu Chu and Han Nan Ze successfully completed the divorce procedures. However, when Rong Lin proposed to take her to register for marriage, Chu Chu hesitated. She felt that everything happened too quickly and too suddenly, and she was not yet ready to embrace a new life.

"Mr. Rong, I have something else to tell you." Chu Chu looked at Rong Lin with a hint of hesitation and uneasiness in her eyes.

Rong Lin glanced at his watch and said hurriedly, "I have a meeting and need to hurry." He didn't seem to notice Chu Chu's hesitation and uneasiness, but just urged her to make a decision as soon as possible.

Chuchu sighed helplessly and said, "Then let's wait until tomorrow." She wanted to give herself some time to think carefully about the meaning and future of this marriage.

However, Rong Lin said firmly: "I will feel at ease only if we get the certificate today. I have waited too long and I really don't want to wait any longer today." His tone was unquestionable firmness and eagerness, as if he was afraid that Chu Chu would suddenly change her mind.

Chuchu looked at Rong Lin, feeling an inexplicable feeling of being touched and warmed. She knew that Rong Lin was a man worthy of her lifelong trust, a man who was willing to give everything for her, even at the cost of making the whole world his enemy. However, she also had her own concerns and worries.

"I have a late-stage brain tumor. I will die soon. Are you still planning to marry me? Mr. Rong, I'm sorry. I only have the courage to tell you today." There was a hint of trembling and sadness in Chuchu's voice. She was afraid that Rong Lin would leave her because of this news.

However, Rong Lin said seriously, "I've known this for a long time. After we get married, I'll find the best experts to diagnose you. You'll be fine. This time, I won't let you get hurt. Besides, only if you marry me can I do these things with legitimacy, understand?"

Chuchu was stunned. She hadn't expected Rong Lin to have known about her condition for so long, and even less had she expected him to be so determined to spend the rest of his life with her. This deep affection and persistence made her feel unprecedented happiness and satisfaction. She knew she had finally found the man who was willing to share the ups and downs with her and face life and death together.
