Chapter 115 Jiang, the person in charge

With Gu Mingyue's protection, Xu Lanyue and the others returned safely to Hope Base without any problems.

This was the first time they had completed an outdoor mission so easily.

When the group returned to Hope Base, the guards were blankly cleaning up the severed limbs and broken bodies outside the city.

The ground was covered in muddy bits of meat, and there was the smell of gunpowder smoke; it looked like a battle between humans and monsters had just ended.

So much so that when these people saw Gu Mingyue leading a level-three winged monster that was chained up, they all stared at her cautiously.

If it weren't for Jiang Shenglin and Xu Lanyue, this group of people would probably have thrown a few bombs at her without hesitation.

Because they now have a strong aversion to Level 3 Winged Membrane Monsters.

The level-three winged monster could also sense their outward threat. It opened its lips, which were turned outward by its sharp teeth, and breathed on the group of people wearing combat suits.

Seeing this, Gu Mingyue tightened the chains and kicked the winged monster before it behaved.

Only then did the group of city guards break free from their hatred for the humanoid monster.

Someone murmured softly.

"That woman actually kicked that level three winged monster! She seems pretty powerful!"

“But that level three winged monster is only chained by the neck. That woman’s arms are so thin. If she loses control and goes out of control, won’t she hurt us?” someone worried.

Jiang Shenglin returned safely and was eager to go back and report to his father, so he was the first to enter the inner city.

Xu Lanyue led Gu Mingyue and the other person strolling in the outer city. Hearing the whispering of the group, he laughed heartily.

"You don't need to worry. Sister Gu can control seven winged membranous monsters at the same time. There's only one now, so it's impossible for it to go out of control."

Those who had been whispering amongst themselves earlier all put down their scoops of minced meat and rushed over, exclaiming in surprise.

"Deputy Captain Xu, you're not kidding, are you? That woman can control seven winged monsters at the same time?"

"I saw it with my own eyes, how could it be fake?"

"Wow wow wow!"

Upon hearing this, everyone excitedly ran to Gu Mingyue, who was walking behind, startling her.

The group of people were looking at her with wary eyes just now, but suddenly they all surrounded her.

"Gu Yingxiong, what kind of superpower do you have? You can actually control seven winged membranous monsters. Are you a level three superpower expert?"

"Are level three ability users really that powerful? I think they're level four ability users!" they asked all at once.

"Where are there any Level 4 superpowered individuals these days? Don't talk nonsense. I think Gu Yingxiong's superpowered talent is just higher!"

"Gu Yingxiong, can I kick this monster too?" someone whispered.

Gu Mingyue held her forehead and looked to Xu Lanyue for help.

Unexpectedly, Xu Lanyue's eyes widened as she looked at the Level 3 Winged Membrane Monster with an eager urge to try her luck.

Amidst their expectant expressions, Gu Mingyue slowly said, "No, if you get injured, you'll get infected."

Although this winged membranous monster escorted them all the way, it was a bloodthirsty creature that had killed many humans before she mentally invaded them.

This group of level one and two ability users includes some ordinary people dressed in tattered clothes. If they were attacked by a level three winged membrane monster, even a minor scratch on their skin would immediately lead to infection and turn them into monsters.

Everyone was somewhat disappointed upon hearing Gu Mingyue's words, but they all expressed their understanding. Gu Mingyue was right; they were indeed much more 'fragile' in comparison.

However, Gu Mingyue still kicked the level 3 winged monster a few times in front of them.

The group felt relieved and went to clean up the human corpses scattered on the ground.

Jiang Shenglin's report was very brief. His father, Jiang Huaisheng, couldn't wait to send someone to bring Gu Mingyue to the inner city.

The inner city wasn't particularly bustling, but its walls were made of more sturdy materials.

The floors are made of extremely sturdy steel and then covered with tiles.

After entering the inner city, Gu Mingyue looked around curiously a few more times. In her previous life, she was not qualified to enter the inner city.

She found many things fascinating, such as the steel roof and glaring lights that she could only see when she looked up.

The sky over the inner city is completely blocked by steel plates and concrete; I wonder which architect designed it.

The group slowly walked to the center of the inner city.

Although Jiang Huaisheng was only in his forties, he had a full head of white hair and looked like a baby-faced old man.

Upon seeing them arrive, he excitedly pushed aside the guards' hands that were trying to stop him and walked down the steps.

Seeing the locked-up Level 3 Winged Membrane Monster obediently locked up, a different kind of gleam appeared in his eyes.

He exchanged a few words with Gu Mingyue and the others.

He quickly led the group to the experimental area that had been built long ago, where the walls were even more sturdy.

As soon as Gu Mingyue locked the winged monster inside, researchers injected a non-lethal neurotoxin into the transparent cage and began testing it without stopping.

Seeing that the monster was properly locked up, Jiang Huaisheng looked at Gu Mingyue with great relief and led her out.

He thought to himself, "This girl is really something!"

Afterwards, disregarding the obstruction of the other party, they took out the prepared tanks, electromagnetic cannons, and other equipment as previously agreed upon in the deal.

Seeing how open-minded the old man was, Gu Mingyue smiled gently and told Xinghe to put it away.

Then, the other person in charge is ignored as well.

He walked alongside Jiang Huaisheng, entering the conference room of their Hope Base.

Gu Mingyue, representing Mingyue Base, officially signed the renewal contract with Jiang Huaisheng.

She can continue to supply Hope Base with humanoid monsters for their research, and Hope Base will provide her with high-tech weapons.

"Manager Jiang, I have something else to show you."

Gu Mingyue put away the sealed contract on the table, and then asked Xinghe to bring out the flamethrower that Guan Hongtao had modified.
