Gu Mingyue's eyes were bloodshot, and her lips curled into a murderous ecstasy. Upon hearing Xinghe's voice, she remained silent for a moment before releasing her grip on the knife.
The gray liquid on the vampire sword intersected with Gu Mingyue's released hand, as if trying to maintain this symbiotic relationship.
Seeing this, Gu Mingyue forcefully swung the knife and planted it directly into the skeleton of the level 5 giant monster that had been drained of its life force, thus freeing herself from the entangled blood-sucking ancient knife.
Once the liquid from the blood-sucking black knife stopped merging with her hands, Gu Mingyue's eyes instantly returned to their normal color.
A dizzying sensation, as if the world had turned upside down, filled her head, and Gu Mingyue stumbled and almost fell.
Xinghe, who had been standing behind her, immediately opened his broad arms and caught her.
Gu Mingyue blinked hard, her heavy eyelids twitching. She looked at Xinghe's worried expression, his eyebrows practically choking a fly, and smiled.
"I'm fine, just a little tired."
Gu Mingyue only used the Bloodsucking Ancient Blade for an hour this time, and she hasn't completely lost consciousness or become a slave to the Bloodsucking Ancient Blade yet.
Xinghe's furrowed brows only slightly relaxed, not completely unfurrowed.
"However, after so many tests, it's not all without results. I've discovered some tricks for using this knife, and I can use it for no more than an hour in the future."
Gu Mingyue pulled Xinghe's strong arm to straighten up, trying to maintain a good mental state, and faced the base members who were still fighting against the humanoid monster.
She forced a smile, used her meteorite blade to pierce the head of a level four spiked monster whose head she had chopped off, and lifted it into the air.
"Listen up, all members of the Bright Moon Base! These humanoid monsters have slaughtered so many of our members. We must not let them come and go as they please."
Gu Mingyue was still quite weak. She shouted at the top of her lungs, and her face became even paler. With her clothes covered in the monster's black blood, she looked like a female ghost whose life force had been drained.
Gu Mingyue took a deep breath and continued shouting.
"Now it's time for us to fight back! Get all your firearms out there and shove them in their faces!"
Gu Mingyue coughed twice as she shouted, "Cough cough, let them know how powerful our base is! Let's see if they dare to come and surround us so easily again!"
When Gu Mingyue was in a frenzy of killing, Wei Jianguo and the others followed her around with firearms to finish off the monsters.
Just now, they saw Gu Mingyue stepping on a level 5 monster when she suddenly staggered and almost fell, which scared Wei Jianguo and the others half to death.
They had been following Gu Mingyue closely and had long noticed her strange, blood-red eyes, stained by the ancient vampire sword. When those eyes swept over them, Gu Mingyue would unconsciously lick her lips before turning away to slaughter other monsters.
Wei Jianguo and the others had almost all made eye contact with her strange appearance.
Although they were scared, they had a strange confidence that their boss would never put a knife to their necks, especially since their boss's wife was always by their side!
So they all put their minds at ease and focused on dealing with the humanoid monster, but a sense of fear had already begun to creep into their hearts at the knife in the boss's hand.
This knife is strangely vicious; it doesn't look like a good thing!
Now that they see their boss still has the energy to shout slogans for them, they suddenly realize that no matter how amazing the knife is, it's still no match for their boss!
With less concern for the boss's health, they immediately focused their attention on the other humanoid monsters that were trying to escape.
They were all chanting the slogan: "Drive the monsters out of Bright Moon Base and never dare to do it again!"
All the gray-green tanks were deployed, and the helicopters equipped with high-frequency sonic cannons rose into the air again, no longer afraid that the giant monster would throw stones at the planes.
Under Wei Jianguo's leadership, everyone launched a desperate counterattack.
Seeing everyone rushing to chase after the other fleeing humanoid monsters, Gu Mingyue lowered her head, stepped on the vampire ancient sword stuck in the monster's skeleton, wrapped the hilt with her sleeve, pulled it out, and handed it to Xinghe to put away.
It would be a lie to say I'm not afraid of the side effects of this knife.
Fortunately, her mental strength was strong, which prevented her from being devoured by the ancient vampire sword. Others would not have been able to break free from the control of the ancient vampire sword so easily.
While using it, Gu Mingyue kept her mental energy locked onto the ancient vampire sword in her hand. During the monster-slaying, the sword and Gu Mingyue were in a mutually beneficial relationship.
One sucks the blood of monsters, the other collects crystal cores.
However, Gu Mingyue's emotions were increasingly agitated by it, and she became more and more excited as she killed, as if she had been injected with chicken blood. She had a terrifying feeling of wanting to destroy all living things.
However, all of this was still within her mental control. It wasn't until Xinghe called out to her and she tried to throw the knife away that the Bloodsucking Ancient Sword took over and tried to invade Gu Mingyue's consciousness.
It was a very weak spiritual force, extremely subtle, so much so that it was difficult to even define whether it could be considered a form of self-awareness.
Gu Mingyue planned to use her mental power to investigate the true nature of the knife after the battlefield was cleared.
After thinking it over, she felt dizzy and almost fainted. She quickly absorbed a newly extracted level-five crystal core, which restored her color. She was still very sleepy, but she was able to stand up on her own without relying on the starry river.
While she was still conscious, she quickly called over some members of the Bright Moon Base who were still inside the base to clean up the battlefield and take the wounded to the hospital.
Upon hearing Gu Mingyue's command, the members immediately sprang into action.
Although the monster is gone, the damage it caused to the Bright Moon Base remains. The once clean and tidy streets are now full of broken cement blocks from various buildings. Many well-maintained residential buildings have collapsed, and the asphalt-like black blood of the monster and the muddy remains of humans are scattered all over the ground.
