After the Level 5 monster invasion ended, Gu Mingyue slept for five whole days to recover her energy.
Winter is approaching, and the three-year snow disaster is about to begin.
Five days later, Gu Mingyue was awakened by the freezing temperature of minus fifty degrees Celsius in the middle of the night.
Her bed was covered with two down comforters, a thick cotton quilt, and an electric blanket.
Even with a fair-skinned, devastatingly handsome boyfriend lying next to her who could regulate his own body temperature, she still woke up from the cold!
Gu Mingyue couldn't help but let out a soft hiss.
She pulled her hands out of the warm embrace of the starry sky and stretched them out of the blankets. The biting cold penetrated her skin and went straight to her bones.
Gu Mingyue wished she could immediately put her outstretched hand back into Xinghe's arms.
Hearing Gu Mingyue get up, Xinghe, who had been lying beside her, opened his extremely beautiful phoenix eyes. Seeing Gu Mingyue's outstretched, frozen hand, he quickly took it and pulled her back into his arms.
Gu Mingyue is currently a level 5 ability user, and the two of them spent exactly 12 hours in and out of the space.
For the next five days, after sunset, the temperature will drop sharply, and Xinghe will emerge from the space to warm Gu Mingyue's bed.
Xinghe adjusted his body temperature to 42 degrees Celsius, and to make Gu Mingyue feel warmer, he even took off his clothes.
He used his arm as a warm pillow for Gu Mingyue.
Gu Mingyue felt Xinghe grab her hands, which had just been exposed, and press them against his hot chest. When she realized that Xinghe wasn't wearing anything, her face immediately turned slightly red.
After the relationship was established, Xinghe became less shy and much more open.
He even stretched out his other arm, which wasn't being used as a pillow by Gu Mingyue, and lifted the blanket up to Gu Mingyue's neck. Then, with a strong arm, he pressed the blanket tightly against Gu Mingyue's neck.
At the same time, he wrapped Gu Mingyue's entire head into his arms, pressing it against his handsome collarbone.
"It's all my fault for not taking good care of him; he was woken up by the cold in the middle of the night."
Xinghe's gentle voice came from above Gu Mingyue, and his warm breath sprayed into her soft hair.
Gu Mingyue gently lifted her chin, emerged from Xinghe's embrace, looked at Xinghe with bright eyes, and gave a mischievous smile.
I gently squeezed it with both hands.
Xinghe's originally serious face immediately turned even redder than Gu Mingyue's.
The owner is getting worse and worse!
"Since it's so cold anyway, why don't we do something to warm up?" Gu Mingyue said with a smile.
I couldn't sleep all night...
The next day, Gu Mingyue got up with a yawn, and the blanket slipped off her rounded shoulders.
Xinghe was squatting on the ground adding charcoal to the stove when he looked up and saw a beautiful scene of red plum blossoms after the first snow. His ears turned red instantly, and he lowered his eyes to carefully tend the stove.
Gu Mingyue chuckled softly when she saw Xinghe's shy expression.
His gaze fell to the window, where he saw that the short platform outside the balcony was piled with more than 30 centimeters of snow, and his smile vanished.
Even during the day, with the stove lit and electric heaters on, the temperature in her room was only five degrees Celsius, let alone for the other members outside the base who did not have such conditions.
What kind of life are they living now?
Many people in their past lives did not survive these three years of freezing weather.
Her base members had just survived from level four or five monsters, but had lost more than eight thousand members due to serious injuries and infections.
Although the other level four and five humanoid monsters were utterly defeated and would hardly dare to attack again, if the members in the base continued to be in this cold state for three years, they would probably lose half of their members!
Gu Mingyue then realized that the two hundred tons of coal she had stockpiled were indeed not enough!
She had previously calculated that the world would be ruled by monsters ten years from now, with only a three-year ice season in between. Whether humanity was destroyed or defeated by the monsters, she would enter her space to live in seclusion once her space was fully repaired for 24 hours, and the coal reserves would be sufficient.
But right now, she still has tens of thousands of members contributing loyalty points to her, and this amount of coal is definitely not enough.
While Gu Mingyue was thinking, Xinghe had already brought out the hot mutton soup that he had prepared in the space.
Gu Mingyue smelled the aroma of mutton soup and followed it to the restaurant. She picked up the soup spoon placed on the table, scooped up a spoonful, and put it in her mouth.
"Mingyue, the mutton soup is fresh out of the pot, be careful it's hot." Xinghe, wearing a gray apron, walked to her side and gently reminded her.
"It's not hot at all. This mutton soup is so delicious. I just took a sip and my whole body feels warm."
Without looking up, Gu Mingyue scooped up another spoonful of soup, then tore off a small piece of the scallion pancake from another plate, dipped it in the soup, and the pancake, coated in mutton broth, almost made Gu Mingyue dizzy with fragrance the moment it entered her mouth.
"Xinghe, what you made is so delicious, it's just like someone who's been making mutton soup for a long time."
"If I had known before the apocalypse, I shouldn't have opened a clothing store. We should have opened a restaurant together. It would have been packed with customers every day. If we had opened dozens of branches, I would have been a billionaire by now."
Xinghe couldn't eat, but seeing Gu Mingyue eating so heartily with a gentle smile on her face gave her a great sense of accomplishment. She wanted to keep cooking for Gu Mingyue, so that the two of them could cook and eat together, and never have to worry about the collapsing world outside again.
If only it were just him and Gu Mingyue!
Not long after Gu Mingyue finished breakfast, her pager was answered; it was Su Xiaoyu calling.
The level six gem tree disliked the cold weather outside, so it pulled its roots out, broke the window of Su Xiaoyu's house, and crawled into her room. At this moment, the two of them, a small sapling and a person, were fighting over the few blankets they had.
