The residents were taken aback when they saw the chainsaw in Gu Mingyue's hand.
But considering that there were twelve of them in total, how could they be afraid of a single woman?
They saw the two people in front of Gu Mingyue, but most of them didn't recognize them and assumed they were residents like them who hadn't stored any food.
"Are you two, father and daughter, also here to ask household 1701 for food?" one of the residents asked.

"I'm her husband!" He reached up and stroked his thinning hair, his face turning even greener.
Afraid that he would get angry, Gu Qinxue quickly and considerately took his hand.
She whispered softly, "Honey, there are too many of them." She didn't finish the sentence, "Don't provoke them."
Wang Liang understood that Gu Mingyue was at the door with a chainsaw, and a dozen or so residents at the stairwell who looked like they had come with ill intentions.
Therefore, he did not explain their relationship with Gu Mingyue.
The group looked at Gu Qinxue with mockery, then at Wang Liang, a middle-aged man who was overweight and balding, their faces full of disdain.
Hmph! Young women marrying rich men? It's almost the end of the world, they'll break up soon enough.
Li Guangquan of 1501 recognized Gu Qinxue's identity, but did not reveal it.
His triangular eyes gleamed with shrewdness. The three people in front of him were clearly at odds, and one less person meant one less obstacle.
Gu Qinxue and her husband lived in a sea-view house, which has now been flooded. The newly formed family of three is now staying in a hotel on higher ground owned by Wang Liang's company.
Originally, he wanted to stay at Gu Mingyue's place, but now that he saw this huge group of people, he regretted it so much that he was already having second thoughts.
"Hey, are you that girl from 1701? Don't think you can scare us just because you have a chainsaw."
"There are 14 of us here, think it over carefully!"
"Selling supplies to us is good for everyone. Otherwise, if we take your chainsaw, who knows what might happen? You know, there's nobody left in the J Bureau," the man threatened.
Gu Mingyue was not threatened by them at all.

None of them are as threatening as Chris and those few foreign burly men with guns.

"Okay, then you can discuss who rushes over first and see if your hands are faster or my chainsaw is faster."

There was no panic in Gu Mingyue's eyes, and she even looked indifferent.
Several of the residents who came with Li Guangquan were already considering leaving.
They haven't accepted the apocalyptic change yet; they've only been hungry for half a day. Asking them to kill right now is something they simply can't accept.
A glint of shrewdness flashed in Li Guangquan's triangular eyes.
He glanced at Gu Qinxue to the side and had an idea.
He pointed his big finger at Gu Qinxue: "This woman is 1701's younger sister. If we capture her, I don't believe she won't hand over the grain."
As he spoke, he rushed towards Gu Qinxue. The other residents were awakened by his shout, and their initial hesitation began to dissipate.
More than twenty hands rushed toward the panicked Gu Qinxue.
Startled, Wang Liang immediately shook off Gu Qinxue's hand and took a big step back. Gu Qinxue's eyes showed a hint of disbelief.
But Wang Liang didn't escape either; several residents grabbed his wrists and forced him to kneel on the ground.
Thinking he had Gu Mingyue's weakness, Li Guangquan smiled, revealing his slightly yellowed teeth.
"If you don't hand over the grain, we'll have to be very rough with your sister."
Gu Mingyue shrugged: "Oh, that's great! Let's get started!"
"Hahaha, quick... um? Move... make a move?"
