Gu Mingyue continued walking, seemingly oblivious to their casual conversation.
Seeing that Jiang Shenglin was about to leave, Gu Mingyue stopped him.
He asked, "Did Shu Yun specifically provide supplies to your army just to deliver this RV to me?"
Jiang Shenglin frowned slightly when she grabbed his rolled-up sleeves, then relaxed his brows.
"Well, you don't need to feel too guilty. She's trying to improve her relationship with the military."
Gu Mingyue nodded slightly, indicating that she understood.
Upon reflection, I admired Yu Shuyun even more.
At such a young age, she has managed to support such a large family business in the Yu family; it would be difficult for most men to do what she has done.
In her previous life, she was one of the few female base commanders.
Even before the monster has appeared, she has already begun to cultivate a closer relationship with the military and make careful plans. No wonder she has succeeded!
A truly outstanding person shines wherever they go!
Just then, a series of soft whispers came from the dark side.
The black rain is coming, and the monsters in the Black Domain are becoming increasingly restless.
"Brother, come in quickly and save me..."
"Help me! Help me! Come in, come in! Aren't you supposed to be serving the people? You know there are zombies attacking humans here, why don't you come in and help us!"
Are you scared? Come in now!
"Come in! Come in! Join us!!"
The voice was filled with sorrow and allure, carrying a strong spiritual suggestion, reaching the ears of everyone on the outskirts of the Black Domain.
Hearing that voice, Gu Mingyue almost wanted to step inside.
As soon as Gu Mingyue lifted her left foot, her gaze became hesitant, confused, and unfocused, as large swaths of dense blackness exploded in her mind.
Because she was a psychic in her previous life, Gu Mingyue woke up almost the instant she saw the blackness.
Then a shiver ran through my body!
This is actually a dark domain that breeds psychic monsters.
Several soldiers were being led towards the edge of the dark zone.
Gu Mingyue shouted loudly, "Don't go in! That's a monster's mental manipulation!"
The shout shattered the mental barrier in everyone's minds, and they stared blankly at the edge of the dark domain so close at hand, breaking out in a cold sweat.
There was another soldier whose foot had already reached the edge of the dark zone. Although he had woken up, he was just about to pull his foot away.
Suddenly he felt that foot was incredibly heavy, and then a strong tug pulled at it, almost pulling half of his leg in.
Even though he was a highly trained special forces soldier, he was so frightened by the terrifying scene that he almost screamed.
Just then, a thin woman rushed over, drew a soldier's sword from his waist, and decisively slashed down at his groin.
"Ugh, ahhh!" The man gritted his teeth, suppressing a cry of pain.
This drew everyone's attention to him.
Without the slightest hesitation, the woman didn't leave after cutting off the man's leg, but instead closely examined the changes in his body.
The man's companions, seeing his broken leg bleeding profusely, quickly helped him up to bandage it.
"Wait!" Gu Mingyue quickly flew up and kicked away the man who was trying to help his companion stop the bleeding.
The speed was so fast that even the man's instinctive reaction, honed through years of training, couldn't dodge it.
"Damn it, are you crazy? Why did you kick me?" the man complained, rubbing his butt.
"She's saving you!" Jiang Shenglin said coldly as he approached the group.
"Huh?" The soldier looked at his companion with some confusion, only to see that what was gushing out of his companion's severed wound was not blood.
Instead, it was a red, writhing line of blood, like a horsehair worm.
Fear gripped his heart, and he stared in disbelief at his companion who had just been alive.
Now it's turned into a monster!
The man's face began to contort as blood gushed from between his legs, startling everyone who rushed away.
The person who had just been calling Gu Mingyue sick quickly retreated away from the monster, using his hands to support himself on the ground while sitting down.
Only Gu Mingyue and Jiang Shenglin, who rushed forward first, did not retreat.
The monster clearly could not survive outside the Dark Domain. After struggling for a few seconds, its skin seemed to melt, turning into blood. Under the sunlight, it seemed to undergo a chemical reaction, quickly evaporating and dissipating, leaving only its green clothes.
"Damn, that's terrifying!" The person who was about to bandage his companion exclaimed softly as he sat down on the ground.
The monster's ability to assimilate is terrifying.
Gu Mingyue whispered a pity. In her previous life, she had never approached the Dark Domain before she had superpowers, so she tried to save the person who had only entered the Dark Domain with half a leg.
I never imagined that even cutting off his leg wouldn't save him!
"You've done your best," Jiang Shenglin said, though he felt a pang of guilt.
The man she had just kicked away stood up, realizing that Gu Mingyue had really saved him. He casually wiped his hands and reached out to her, saying, "Hehe, my name is Li Hao. Thank you for saving me. Otherwise, I would have been in big trouble."
"Oh, hello," Gu Mingyue said indifferently, making a perfunctory gesture without reaching out her hand, as she remembered that this man had just touched her buttocks.
Li Hao didn't mind missing the handshake and continued to smile, after all, his indifferent attitude couldn't overshadow the life-saving grace he had just received.
His legs are still a little weak, almost like they're about to turn into water, no wonder he's scared!
Therefore, people viewed Gu Mingyue through a lens of surviving.
"Damn it, these inhuman monsters!" The short-haired female soldier spat at the Black Domain, then lit a cigarette, squatted down, and used a lighter to set fire to the clothes the man had left behind.
He exhaled a puff of smoke, then curiously moved closer to Gu Mingyue: "Your surname is Gu, right? I often heard Yu Shuyun mention you when I was in the capital."
"Your skills just now were really impressive. No wonder even that arrogant Yu Shuyun considers you a true friend!"
Gu Mingyue looked at her upon hearing the voice. The woman had a neat buzz cut, was also wearing a tactical vest, was about 1.75 meters tall, had tanned skin, and sharp eyes.
They don't look like ordinary soldiers; they're probably from special forces.
"Hmm, what should I call you?" Gu Mingyue knew that she was the female soldier who had spoken up for her earlier, so her expression softened considerably.
The female soldier laughed heartily and handed her a pack of cigarettes.
"Haha, my name is Xu Lanyue. Thank you so much for earlier, Sister Gu. If it weren't for your shout today, I probably would have rushed into the Black Domain and been eaten clean by those bastards."
She slowly exhaled a smoke ring, looking even more fierce than a man.
"Yes, yes, Miss Gu, thank you for waking us up earlier."
The others realized that the voice that had awakened them came from the slender girl in front of them, and they went to her side to thank her.
These people were all straightforward; some offered cigarettes, while others took out their own rations to give to Gu Mingyue as a token of their gratitude, not expecting to receive her favors for nothing.
