Chapter 111 Leaving the Darkness

In the darkness of the night, Lin Jiu could not see the road ahead and could only let Huo Shen hold her hand and run forward.

Walking forward in the darkness, isn't this her real life?

Suddenly a spot of light appeared in front.

"That's the place, let's go!" Huo Shen held Lin Jiu's hand tightly in his palm and ran with her towards the light.

"Can you take me out of the darkness?" Lin Jiu didn't know why he asked this question.

"Of course, follow me closely and don't let go." Huo Shen's voice was firm.

"Okay, I won't let go." Lin Jiu held Huo Shen's hand tightly, looked at his broad shoulders, ran with his pace, with a happy smile on the corner of her lips, she didn't even notice it.

"Run faster! Don't let the bastards get away!" The voices of the migrant workers were getting closer and closer. Because they were familiar with the place, they took a shortcut to catch up.

However, Lin Jiu had already seen the environment around the light. There was a dark underground entrance with several mine carts placed in a haphazard manner beside the entrance.

Mine carts? Are the people at this construction site secretly mining?

"Hurry! Xiaojiu, let me help you get in the car. We're running out of time."

Before Lin Jiu could answer, Huo Shen's powerful hands grabbed her waist and gave her an upward force, allowing her to jump into the mine cart.

"Chase! Don't let them in!" The foreman led the migrant workers and they were less than ten steps away from Lin Jiu.

Huo Shen supported himself on the edge of the mine cart with his hands and jumped into it.

Suddenly, he grabbed Lin Jiu's shoulders with both hands and said, "We don't know what's going on ahead. It's still not too late to leave now."

"We're already here, shall we drive?" Lin Jiu said with a determined look.

"Hold on tight!" Huo Shen touched her head and pressed the green button on the mine cart.

The mine cart shook a little and drove along the rails all the way to the underground mine.

Lin Jiu's hair flew up instantly.

Huo Shen quickly grabbed the back of her head and pulled her into his arms to prevent her from getting hurt.

Lin Jiu's face was pressed tightly against his solid chest, his heart was beating rapidly, his face was as red as a ripe apple, and his left thumb involuntarily pinched his index finger hard.

"Get on the mine carts and chase them!" The foreman and the workers jumped into the mine carts one by one and chased them into the underground mine tunnel.

Lin Jiu quickly broke free from Huo Shen's arms and grabbed the handrail of the mine cart tightly.

It was pitch black before my eyes, and I couldn't see my hand in front of me. The only thing I could see was the sparks from the friction between the mine wheels and the tracks.

"Don't be afraid, I will protect you." Huo Shen's voice lingered in Lin Jiu's ears.

The sound of the wind in her ears seemed to weaken Huo Shen's voice, but it did not affect her ability to hear every word Huo Shen said.

His arms held her tightly from behind.

The mine cart suddenly jolted violently, and the back of Lin Jiu's head hit Huo Shen's solid chest.

Huo Shen hugged her tighter, almost holding her completely in his arms, making Lin Jiu feel the protection she had never felt in her life.

She even became a little greedy for this sense of security and wanted to sleep in Huo Shen's arms for a long time.

I don’t know how long the mine car had been going, but I finally saw a light in front of me. It was an underground station.

Huo Shen pulled the brake handle, and the wheels of the mine cart stopped after a burst of violent sparks.

Lin Jiu suddenly woke up from his intoxication, quickly got out of Huo Shen's arms, jumped off the mine car, and walked towards the small door in the corner of the station.

Huo Shen supported himself on the edge of the mine cart with his right hand and jumped down. He stared at Lin Jiu who was fleeing in panic, and the corners of his lips rose slightly.

He thought Lin Jiu looked so adorable, and he really wanted to hold her in his arms and love her dearly.

Boom—boom—bang—

There was a loud crash at the end of the track. The migrant workers chasing them did not pull the brake handle in time, and all the mine cars collided with each other, and the people and cars were thrown to the ground.
