Lin Jiu was startled and quickly ran over to check. Huo Shen's face was pale.
As soon as she lowered her head, Huo Shen grabbed her wrist and threw her whole body heavily on him.
"No need for artificial respiration." Huo Shen's voice was a little weak.
"Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere? I'll take you to the hospital." Lin Jiu propped himself up with his arms and was pulled to Huo Shen's chest again.
"No need, I'm just allergic to lamb."
"If we don't go to the hospital, at least let me get up. It would be embarrassing if someone saw us like this."
"Are you shy?" Huo Shen had a faint smile on his lips.
"No, I'm just...thinking about you."
Suddenly, there was a rustling sound somewhere else in the garden.
Lin Jiu quickly stood up, and a kitten meowed and jumped away.
"Hurry up and get up! Do you still want me to pull you up?" After Lin Jiu said that, he realized that Huo Shen didn't want to get up, but he really couldn't get up, but he didn't say it for the sake of face.
That's why I hid alone in the depths of the garden.
"Aren't you afraid that I will pull you onto me again?" Huo Shen raised the corners of his lips, but he could not hide the helplessness that flashed in his eyes.
Lin Jiu turned his head to look at Huo Shen, raised his eyebrows slightly, and lay down next to Huo Shen.
Huo Shen didn't expect Lin Jiu to do this. "Lying down like this in a formal dress is unprecedented."
Lin Jiu blinked, "I was just imitating your posture and trying to figure out what you were looking at."
"The ground is too cold, get up quickly." Huo Shen supported himself on the ground with his hands and sat up, then rubbed his temples and pulled Lin Jiu up.
The two sat down side by side in the pavilion again.
Huo Shen looked up at the starry sky and reached out to grab Lin Jiu's hand. "I was kidnapped when I was a child. I was imprisoned in a slaughterhouse with another little boy."
Lin Jiu turned his head to look at Huo Shen beside him. He didn't expect that he had such an experience.
"My family was afraid that the kidnappers would kill me, so they were the first to catch the kidnappers. However, the kidnappers died unexpectedly and did not reveal where I was being held captive."
"The imprisoned boy and I had to survive on raw mutton in the room, but after a few days, the mutton started to rot and the boy died from the disease he had eaten.
But in order to survive, I had no choice but to continue eating rotten mutton.
When the police found me, the boy had already been mixed with the rotten mutton, and I was very sick and dying, but I survived in the end.
Huo Shen closed his eyes. "You'll never imagine what that boy looked like, rotting with the mutton. When several police officers found me, they were so disgusted by the boy's appearance that they vomited hysterically."
Lin Jiu raised her hand and gently stroked Huo Shen's cheek. She didn't expect that this arrogant man also had a fragile side.
She didn't know why, but she felt a little distressed when she saw his pale face. "So your reaction to mutton is PTSD, post-traumatic stress disorder."
"You know quite a lot?" Huo Shen felt that his mood suddenly brightened after he finished speaking.
"Of course you did. So you're hiding here because you don't want your family to know you're experiencing PTSD symptoms.
PSTD is a mental disorder caused by experiencing, witnessing, or encountering the death or serious injury of others. Lin Jiu grabbed Huo Shen's shoulders and said, "Don't worry, I will help you get through this."
"I think you treat me more like a brother now." Huo Shen grabbed Lin Jiu's hand, placed it on his lips and kissed it lightly. "It's getting late. Let's rest here tonight. Don't worry, we can have two rooms."
Suddenly, he felt Lin Jiu's hand was very cold, and he didn't see her reply.
When he turned his head, he saw blood coming out of Lin Jiu's ear.
"Bao, what's wrong with you?"
Lin Jiu half-closed her eyes, and a stream of blood flowed from the corner of her eye.
