Chapter 1: Refusing to Leave
"Knock knock"
"Enter."
In the president's office of the Yunqi Building, Pei Shinian was working at his desk without raising his head, processing large and small project documents for Yunqi and Pei Group.
I could vaguely sense someone coming in, and I thought it was Cen Xian who came to the company today. While flipping through the documents in his hand, he said in a gentle voice: "Why are you free to come to the company today? Aren't you going to accompany Beibei?"
He was responded with a moment of silence. Pei Shinian looked up in confusion, and when he saw the person standing in front of him, he couldn't help but frown and speak.
"What are you doing here?"
The person in front of him was Shen Yuan, who had already been discharged from the hospital.
"I came here to ask you some questions."
Even though he has been out of the hospital for so long, he still looks like he is injured and hasn't recovered yet.
"You have been the president of Shen Corporation for so many years. It has only been a month. Why do you want to ask an outsider like me for advice?"
Such scenes have frequently occurred since the third day after Shen Yuan woke up.
The only difference is that the location was at Pei’s. Even though he had hidden himself in Yunqi, he still found his way to the door.
I couldn't hit him, and I was so annoyed. Why didn't I know before that Shen Yuan was such a shameless person?
"Ahem, I'll wait here until you're done."
Shen Yuan did not respond. He covered his chest with his hands and coughed twice. Without being told by others, he sat down on the sofa not far away, looking at Pei Shinian from time to time.
"Alright, alright, just leave after you finish asking."
That gentle and affectionate look made Pei Shinian's scalp tingle.
Seeing this, Shen Yuan pushed the document in his hand over.
Pei Shinian walked up to him, picked up the book and flipped through it casually. When he opened the first page, he thought he had seen it wrong, so he flipped through the rest of the pages in disbelief.
He fell back onto Shen Yuan violently.
"What the hell are these things?!"
Shen Yuan, not knowing what was going on, took the book and opened it, and what caught his eye were the big words "Thirty-Six Strategies to Chase Your Wife".
He immediately couldn't hold it anymore.
He clenched his fists, covered his lips and coughed twice, then evasively said, "I accidentally took the wrong one."
"Then hurry up and leave."
Pei Shinian waved his hand to chase the man away.
"Can I stay at your place for a few days? Grandpa kicked me out. He said I would return to that home when he brings his granddaughter-in-law back."
As he spoke, Shen Yuan looked aggrieved, as if if he wasn't taken in, the president of the Shen Group would become a homeless stray puppy.
Pei Shinian suddenly remembered that for convenience he had moved out of the Pei family's old house and moved into a 200-square-meter apartment between Yunqi and Pei's. It was more than enough for one more person to live there.

"I'll ask Xiao Feng to help you get a room in a star hotel."
"But we are fiancée, we should live together, and don't you miss me, baby?"
Shen Yuan's matter-of-fact and highly suggestive tone made Pei Shinian instantly explode.
"Shen Yuan! Who are you and your fiancé? Who is your baby? Don't shout! Can you please have some shame?"
Pei Shinian was both embarrassed and annoyed. Don't think he didn't know what Shen Yuan meant by the implication in his words.
He immediately started to speak out.
"I can consider letting you go up, but I'm afraid you can't handle it in your current state."
As he spoke, he placed his hand on Shen Yuan's chest and glanced him up and down, full of provocation.
"Go away now."
Knowing that Shen Yuan would not agree, he started to drive people away.
"Can."
Pei Shinian, who had already turned around, couldn't hold back his expression when he heard this. He thought he had heard it wrong and asked in surprise, "What?! Say it again?"
"I said yes."
Shen Yuan walked up to him, his tone unconsciously carrying a hint of temptation, his eyes fixed on him.
Pei Shinian admitted that he was moved for a moment, and the man's inherent desire to conquer almost made him agree.
But he couldn't afford what Shen Yuan wanted, and he finally paid back the two lives he owed him.
"Forget it, I was just joking, just listen to me."
Reason prevailed, and after hesitating for a moment, Pei Shinian waved his hand to refuse.
I fell into my busy life again and no longer cared about the extra person in the office.
Finally, when he had finished processing all the documents and holding all the meetings, big and small, he rubbed his sore neck. He caught a glimpse of Shen Yuan still sitting in the same place he had sat in the morning, and he felt a little overwhelmed.
"Why haven't you left yet?"
"Wait until you get off work."
"I'm off work now, please leave now."
Pei Shinian picked up his coat and strode downstairs.

Now Pei Shinian just wants to go home, take a shower and sleep. A whole day of high-intensity work has made him exhausted.
"Master, Mr. Shen is behind us. It's going to rain soon, and it's so late. Do you want to..."
Xiao Feng thought of the weather forecast he checked when he went out this morning, and then looked at the sky not far away that was occasionally illuminated by muffled thunder. It was obvious that it was about to rain heavily.

Pei Feng looked up and saw through the rearview mirror that his young master's brows were furrowed. Even with his eyes closed, he could feel his fatigue and irritability. He stopped talking, started the car quickly, and drove towards Pei Shinian's residence.
The car body became smaller and smaller in Shen Yuan's eyes until it could no longer be seen.
After returning home, Pei Shinian washed up and lay down on the bed. He thought he would fall asleep immediately, but listening to the sound of rain outside the window, he tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep.
I simply sat up, took out a cigarette from the bedside table, lit it, and walked barefoot to the balcony, staring at the dark sky in a daze.
Lightning occasionally illuminated Pei Shinian's figure shrouded in the darkness, and one could vaguely see his extremely handsome face and somewhat dilated pupils.

After an unknown amount of time, he came to his senses when his fingers were burned by the almost burnt cigarette.
Just as he was about to turn around and go into the house, lightning once again tore through the thick clouds and illuminated the sky. When Pei Shinian turned sideways, he suddenly caught a glimpse of a tall, wet figure looking at him downstairs.
Pei Shinian was really scared. He was stunned for several seconds before he realized that the man downstairs was Shen Yuan who stayed in his office during the day.
"Damn Shen Yuan, he's really going to stick with it, right?"
Pei Shinian couldn't help but curse inwardly. He went back to the room, found his cell phone, looked through the address book, and called Ahua.
"Hello, who is this?"
"I'm Pei Shinian. Come over here and take your boss away."
Ah Hua on the other end of the phone was silent for a moment, then said to Pei Shinian: "I'm sorry, Mr. Pei, I'm on vacation. Our boss has just been discharged from the hospital. It's not good for his health to be exposed to the rain for too long. Please take care of him."
As soon as he finished speaking, before Pei Shinian could react, a busy tone came from the other end of the phone.
"Hello? Ah Hua? Hello!"
He looked at the hung up phone in his hand and his face suddenly turned grim.
He could no longer maintain his usual gentlemanly demeanor, and gritted his teeth, cursing out loud without caring whether the person on the other side could hear him or not: "Bullshit vacation! Don't think I don't know that you work 365 days a year."
