Chapter 44 The Consequences of Being Greedy (2/2)

"It was ordered by my teacher's friend. If they weren't unsure if you could make it, they would have insisted on giving me the deposit. The old lady's skills are truly excellent."

If she weren't someone who doesn't keep birds, the birdcage made of bamboo would be a delight to look at.

"That's good since he's someone we can trust. There are still about four months left until the end of the year."

Since we follow the old and new calendars, Chinese New Year and New Year's Day are not on the same day.

"Are you sure you can make it in time?"

"Preparing all the necessary materials in advance will make things faster."

"Then it's settled, ma'am. I'll bring you the deposit later. I have class this afternoon and need to get back."

Fan Juan was very happy. She hadn't had any income for a long time, and this order was enough for her to buy books.

"Don't worry, I'll pack some dried sweet potatoes for you to take home and eat."

"Thank you, ma'am. Your dried sweet potatoes are really delicious. If you have time, you can make more, and I'll help you sell them later."

Yang Yufen didn't intend to sell the dried sweet potatoes for money, since drying them to make them taste good really takes a lot of effort and time. However, seeing that Fan Juan liked them, she thought that her daughter-in-law would like them too, so she decided to make more to keep for when she came back.

Yang Yufen entrusted her child to Wang Damei for care, then rode her tricycle to the bamboo forest and found that many bamboo trees had been cut down, but only the good ones were taken away, and the bamboo branches were all left on the ground.

Yang Yufen saw that the bamboo branches were all in good condition, so she cleared them out, saving a lot of time by not having to cut the bamboo.

Back at the family compound, some people saw Yang Yufen pulling a cart full of bamboo branches and couldn't help but be curious.

"Sister Yang, what are you doing with all these bamboo branches?"

“I went to collect firewood and saw that it was all in good condition. I brought it back and fixed the fence so we can use it to trellis the beans next year.”

Yang Yufen gave a casual reply.

"I have children waiting for me at home, so I have to go now."

After Yang Yufen finished speaking, she left immediately.

Nobody thought there was anything wrong with it.

Yang Yufen went home, first unloaded the bamboo branches, then cooked the meal, and then went to pick up the child.

In the family compound, I had just put my child in the stroller to play. At first, the child was quite happy, but after a while, the child suddenly started crying loudly.

The adult quickly picked up the child and comforted him, then realized something was wrong. When he pulled his hand away, he saw bright red blood. He turned the child's bottom over and found a cut on the back of his thigh.

Yang Yufen was unaware of the commotion in the family compound. Since her two children started eating solid foods, they had been sleeping longer at night than during the day. However, this also meant they spent significantly more time awake and playing during the day.

Someone came to the door.

"Aunt Yang, could you make me a small cart? I've brought the money."

"I'm sorry, as you can see, my two little grandsons are getting more and more boisterous during the day, and I really don't have time to do anything else. Winter is coming soon, and I still need to make winter clothes for them, but I'm out of materials."

Yang Yufen refused, and the visitor was somewhat disappointed. He regretted not ordering from the Lin family in the first place just because it was one yuan cheaper.

The stroller isn't even finished yet, and the neighbor's grandson got scratched because the bamboo strips on the stroller weren't properly removed. The Lin family paid compensation but stopped making it.

Da Bao hit Er Bao with the ball, and Er Bao cried in pain. Yang Yufen quickly went to hug the child.

"Then I won't bother you any longer, Aunt Yang."

The person who came looked at the cart at the door and really wanted to just snatch one away.
