Chapter 46 Gossip Gathering Place (2/2)

“Grandma Niannian has worked hard taking care of the child during this time. Now that Niannian is back, the family can finally be reunited.”

As the two were talking, Qin Nian, who had thought she could return before the New Year, didn't get on the train home until the end of March.

The closer she got, the more Qin Nian felt her longing surge like a raging flood.

"Slow down, or you'll fall. Give the scoop to Grandma."

Winter passed quietly. Apart from catching a cold after the heavy snow, the two children were fine. When March came, they took off their heavy cotton-padded coats.

Without the burden of their cotton-padded coats, the twins, who were almost one year old, started running as soon as they got out of bed, and they didn't seem to get tired at all.

"Grandma, Grandma!"

Upon hearing this, the two children grabbed ladles and started calling out to Yang Yufen as they handed her ladles.

Yang Yufen watered the vegetables she had just planted, then took her two children out of the vegetable garden in the backyard.

"Grandma, scoop it up, I want some!"

Erbao, unwilling to give up, turned around and tried to go back to get the scoop.

“That one is too big. Grandma will make a small one for each of you. We have gourds at home.”

Erbao is persistent, unlike Dabao who is easy to coax. Even if you don't say yes, Erbao can sneak up and grab the ladle when no one is looking. The ladle was on the water vat, and although the vat was covered, it was still dangerous.

"good."

Erbao thought for a moment and nodded.

The food for the two children was brought out, each with a bamboo spoon in their hand. The two children sat obediently at their small tables and ate with their spoons.

Yang Yufen selected one from her dried gourds, sanded it, and then sawed it in half.

The two children ate while watching their grandmother's movements, and the older child was even eating faster.

She cut it open, sanded it inside and out with sandpaper to ensure the edges wouldn't hurt anyone, then brushed it with varnish and hung it up to dry.

"You have to wait for the paint to dry, otherwise it will easily break. It will be quick, you can play with it tomorrow."

Yang Yufen patted the two children's heads, letting them look up at the gourd, then went to wash the dishes, sweeping up the rice grains the children had left on the small table so she could feed the chickens later.

Having stayed indoors much throughout the winter, Yang Yufen made many small toys for her two children. After confirming that they couldn't get the small scoop, the two children went to get the bamboo wheel cart that Yang Yufen had made and played with it in the yard.

"Grandma, get out!"

Da Bao wasn't having enough fun at home and started longing for the outside world, while Er Bao, though not saying it, was following his brother around, and his meaning was quite clear.

"Okay, we'll take you there after Grandma washes and hangs the clothes out to dry."

Yang Yufen moved very quickly, not keeping the two children waiting for long, and took a basket of peanuts in their skins and went out with them.

"You brought them out to play again. Come and sit here, let the children play by themselves."

There were already early arrivals under the big banyan tree, some sewing shoe soles, others shelling peanuts.

With Yang Yufen as their wonderful mother-in-law, Aunt Liu and Aunt Wang are now fully focused on taking care of their pregnant daughter-in-law, helping with childcare and preparing various things, and have no time to go out.

As soon as the twins arrived, a group of children surrounded them, looking at the bamboo-wheeled carts in their hands with great curiosity.

There was also a wooden shovel in the cart, so you could dig in the mud and play with it.

Kids always play in the mud, and soon they were all playing together.

Yang Yufen would only occasionally look up, shelling peanuts in her hand, and chat with everyone from time to time.

"Professor Lin and his family from the tenement building have moved away; they said they were transferred to another place."

"They really moved? We're doing so well here. Why were they transferred to another place? Did they do something wrong?"
