Looking around at the various small items she had added to her home, Qin Nian felt a warm glow in her heart.
"Mom, let the child sleep with me tonight."
After Qin Nian finished bathing the two children, she spoke to Yang Yufen.
"Okay, let them hug their little pillows later. They've been wanting to sleep in that room for a while now."
Qin Nian thought that the two children would be fine with just small pillows, but when she saw her mother-in-law spreading out small blankets and preparing water, she didn't know why at first.
In the middle of the night, the child suddenly started whimpering. Qin Nian groggily opened her eyes, thinking the child was uncomfortable, and reached out to comfort him. There was a soft knock on the door.

Yang Yufen is hanging the washed mattresses on bamboo poles to dry.

"Okay, I'll cover up the bicycle at home, and I'll buy your Aunt Wang's tricycle, since she uses it a lot."
"Okay, Mom."
After Qin Nian finished washing up and eating, the child woke up. Yang Yufen placed the cooled porridge on the small table, and the child ate it by himself with gusto.
A bowl of vegetable porridge and half a bottle of freshly prepared milk, all at the perfect temperature, were prepared by Yang Yufen with practiced ease, as if it were all second nature.
Qin Nian kissed the two children, then rode her bicycle out the door.
