Chapter 416: Deskmate (Script 2)

—— “Pah.”

The pen in Shen Xiangyang's hand fell onto the open exercise book with a slight sound. He suddenly came back to his senses from his memories and found himself still sitting in the classroom of his second year of high school. His palms were cold and sticky.

He took a deep breath and forced himself to refocus his gaze on the book in front of him, but those cold formulas seemed to have turned into Gu Xi's somewhat blurry face.

He bit his lower lip hard until he tasted a hint of rust, and only then did he suppress the emotions surging in his heart.

Front row of the classroom.

Gu Xi seemed to sense the cold gaze behind him. He tilted his head slightly and glanced at the corner again with the corner of his eye. His brows knitted slightly: "Tsk, the ghost is still hanging around. How can you not know what's good for you."

Gu Xi didn’t know why Shen Xiangyang became like this.

It was clear that they had a good relationship during the first semester of high school, but from one day on, Shen Xiangyang never lent him homework again.

No matter what he said to Shen Xiangyang, what gifts he gave, or what soft words he said, the other party just looked indifferent. Gu Xi has been the center of attention since elementary school. How could he tolerate such grievances?

So he and Shen Xiangyang completely broke off their friendship.

The novelty of the new school year was soon replaced by the intense pace of study, and Class 2 (3) of Senior High School gradually got on track.

However, the conflict between Shen Xiangyang and Gu Xi was like an lingering dark cloud, shrouding a corner of the classroom.

Gu Xi and his friends were always the noisiest center of the classroom. Whether it was the "bang bang" sound of basketballs hitting the ground, the exaggerated laughter, or the verbal battles arguing about the game, they were like countless needles piercing Shen Xiangyang's nerves.

Shen Xiangyang knew that he had no say, so he put on his old headphones and tried to block out the noise by listening to English.

If he really couldn't stand it anymore, Shen Xiangyang would suddenly raise his head and look coldly at Gu Xi, the source of the noise.

When Gu Xi received Shen Xiangyang's gaze, he was often stunned at first, and then responded with a more provocative raised eyebrow.

Gu Xi doesn't like to target others, but when facing Shen Xiangyang, he has an indescribable "special attention".

During the chemistry class, Shen Xiangyang was left behind again.

Because Shen Xiangyang is a loner, he has never been very popular. Whenever there is a "group cooperation" activity, Shen Xiangyang is always the one left behind.

The chemistry teacher sighed helplessly and put him in the same group with Gu Xi and Li Ming.

Gu Xi raised his eyebrows slightly. "College bully, we'll do the actual work later, and you can just take notes. You're only good at talking on paper anyway, right?"

This sentence is full of irony.

Li Ming next to him also laughed.

Shen Xiangyang pursed his lips and walked to the experimental table without saying a word. He began to prepare the equipment silently, his movements were standard and quick, as if he didn't hear Gu Xi's words, but his tense jawline revealed Shen Xiangyang's emotions.

It's like this again...

It wasn't obvious in front of Gu Xi, but he felt very depressed inside.

Ever since he and Shen Xiangyang had a falling out, Shen Xiangyang had completely turned into an iceberg. No matter how he mocked him, he would still do what he was supposed to do...

Gu Xi cursed in his heart and joined Shen Xiangyang’s experiment with an expressionless face.

Time just passes by.

Their homeroom teacher, Mr. Wang, keenly noticed the conflict between Shen Xiangyang and Gu Xi.

So Teacher Wang found Shen Xiangyang and Gu Xi to talk.

In the office, Shen Xiangyang remained silent as a stone. No matter how gently Teacher Wang asked about the conflict between him and Gu Xi, Shen Xiangyang just lowered his head and responded with the briefest "no" or "I don't know".

Teacher Wang looked at his pale, thin cheeks and tightly pursed lips, and sighed helplessly in his heart.

Gu Xi next to him was much more "open-minded".

He said confidently: "Teacher Wang, I really didn't mean to provoke him! Look at Shen Xiangyang, he has a gloomy face all day long, and looks at everyone as if they owe him money. I was just doing normal activities, and he stared at me like a surveillance camera. Who can stand this? Shen Xiangyang must have a psychological problem..."

When Shen Xiangyang heard the words “psychological problems”, his body quickly became stiff.

"Shut up."

Teacher Wang glared at Gu Xi.

Gu Xixin said "Oh" reluctantly.

Teacher Wang glanced at Shen Xiangyang and then at Gu Xi. She belatedly realized that the conflict between the two was far more than just "incompatibility of personalities" as it appeared on the surface.

They seem to be involved in a deeper past.

So Teacher Wang made a secret decision in his heart.

The last class on Friday afternoon is a class meeting.

Teacher Wang walked up to the podium and cleared his throat. "Students, it's been a while since we started school. In order to create a better learning atmosphere and help everyone make progress together, we will make some minor adjustments to the seating arrangements next week."

There was a small commotion among the students.

Teacher Wang began to read out the new seating arrangements.

"Gu Xi, change your seat and sit in the last row by the window, next to Shen Xiangyang."

The classroom became quiet.

"What?!"

Gu Xi suddenly jumped up from his seat, the chair legs making a harsh noise on the floor. He looked at Teacher Wang in shock, "Teacher Wang! Are you sure? Let me sit with him?"

Gu Xi pointed in the direction of Shen Xiangyang, his voice rising slightly with shock and anger: "I don't agree!"

The moment Shen Xiangyang heard his name and Gu Xi's name together, his body trembled violently.

He suddenly raised his head and looked at Teacher Wang on the podium. For the first time, his usually calm eyes clearly revealed shock, resistance, and... a hint of fear.

Shen Xiangyang’s hands under the table were clenched into fists, his nails digging deep into his palms.

He opened his mouth as if to say something, but ended up just lowering his head even harder.

The image at the alley kept swirling in his mind.

Teacher Wang's voice left no room for doubt: "Gu Xi, sit down! This is the teacher's decision, not your opinion. Shen Xiangyang is studying hard, so I can encourage you to focus."

Her gaze lingered on Shen Xiangyang for a few seconds, and her tone became gentler: “Student Shen Xiangyang has a relatively quiet personality, and he also needs to communicate more with students of different personalities.”

"teacher……"

Gu Xi opened his mouth and wanted to say something, but was interrupted by Teacher Wang without mercy: "The seating matter is settled. Okay, get out of class dismissed!"

After saying this, Teacher Wang stopped looking at Gu Xi, whose face turned ashen, and decisively announced the end of get out of class.

Everyone's eyes were secretly looking at Gu Xi and Shen Xiangyang, and the air was filled with a strange and exciting gossip atmosphere.
