Chapter 426 Returning Home (Script 12)
Shen Guozhu covered his wrist which was pinched so hard that it hurt, and watched the two men leaving. He was so angry that his whole body was shaking, but he was intimidated by Gu Xi's aura and did not dare to step forward to stop them.
So he could only jump around in the back, cursing helplessly and furiously with the filthiest language: "Get out! All of you! Little bastards! You ungrateful traitors! Don't come back if you have the guts!"
Those obscene words that were too painful to hear were blocked out by the closed door behind him.
In the narrow and dim corridor, Gu Xi held Shen Xiangyang's shoulders tightly, supporting his weak body.
He could clearly feel the person in his arms trembling uncontrollably.
Shen Xiangyang lowered his head, and big, hot tears fell silently on the dusty concrete floor, leaving dark marks.
Gu Xi's heart seemed to be gripped by an invisible hand, and the pain was so severe that he could hardly breathe.
He stopped and held up Shen Xiangyang's tear-stained cheeks, his eyes filled with unprecedented tenderness.
"Don't listen to him, don't listen to a word he says!"
Gu Xi's voice was low and hoarse, with a power that penetrated people's hearts: "He is not your father, he is not worthy! You still have me, Shen Xiangyang! Do you hear me? From now on, you have me! I can support you! I can also pay for your education! No one will think of bullying you again!"
Gu Xi's eyes were filled with the fiery passion that only a young man could have.
And these two promises were like a scorching light, suddenly piercing through the thick darkness in front of Shen Xiangyang's eyes.
He raised his tearful eyes and stared at Gu Xi in a daze.
In the dim light, Gu Xi's outline was a little blurry, but the light in his eyes was so scorching.
Shen Xiangyang opened his mouth and wanted to say something, but his throat was blocked by a huge soreness and he couldn't make any sound.
He looked at Gu Xi, letting his tears slide silently.
Gu Xi said no more. He carefully and gently wiped away the tears on Shen Xiangyang's cheeks with his fingertips. His movements were clumsy but extremely careful.
He held Shen Xiangyang in his arms, supporting him with his young but unusually strong arms, and walked down the decayed tube building step by step firmly, towards the world outside that was gently shrouded in the afterglow of the setting sun.
Walking out of the apartment building, the cool evening air mixed with the smell of cooking in the distance came over, slightly dispelling the decay in the corridor.
Shen Xiangyang leaned on Gu Xi, his eyes dazed.
Gu Xi's heart was burned by those silent tears.
He looked down at Shen Xiangyang's pale and fragile face, and an unprecedented desire to protect him was like a surging tide, completely drowning him.
So he no longer hesitated and quickly dialed a number.
"Uncle Wang, please drive over to pick me up right now. I'll send you the location later. Please hurry."
His voice was steady and powerful, with an unquestionable commanding tone, which did not sound like that of a seventeen-year-old boy at all.
After hanging up the phone, Gu Xi hugged Shen Xiangyang tightly in his arms, warming his cold body with his body temperature.
He didn't say any words of comfort, but only conveyed silent support through his actions.
Shen Xiangyang's cheek was pressed against his warm neck, and the sound of his strong heartbeat could be heard through the thin fabric, again and again. The boy's hot heartbeat prevented Shen Xiangyang's shaky world from completely collapsing.
The black car came to the alley entrance silently.
When the driver, Uncle Wang, saw Gu Xi supporting the pale-faced Shen Xiangyang, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.
"Mr. Gu, this classmate..."
Uncle Wang looked at Shen Xiangyang's distraught look and hesitated.
“He is my classmate Shen Xiangyang. When he comes to my house in the future, just invite him in.”
Gu Xi gave brief instructions.
He carefully helped Shen Xiangyang into the warm and comfortable car, and then he got in right after him. The car door isolated him from everything outside.
"go home."
Gu Xi said in a low voice.
The car drove smoothly out of the depressing neighborhood.
Outside the car window, the lights came on and the neon lights flickered, outlining a world that was completely different from the dilapidated tube-shaped buildings.
The heater in the car was on full blast.
The leather seats exude a faint fragrance, and soothing piano music plays from the car audio system.
Everything here is so comfortable and decent, but it makes Shen Xiangyang feel out of place and confused.
He curled up in a corner of the wide seat, like a frightened little animal that finally found a safe corner.
Gu Xi sat quietly beside Shen Xiangyang.
The dim light inside the car outlined Shen Xiangyang's thin and fragile profile, and Gu Xi's eyes were filled with complex emotions: anger, pity, heartache, and a hint of fear.
If he hadn't gone with me today, if he had been a little late, if...
Gu Xi didn't dare to think too much.
The black car drove into a quiet upscale community and finally stopped in front of a brightly lit single-family villa.
The servants of the Gu family who received the news were waiting at the door in advance.
"The young master is back."
The servant greeted respectfully, her eyes falling on Shen Xiangyang, who was pale and dressed simply, standing beside Gu Xi, with a hint of barely perceptible curiosity.
"Aunt Zhang, please prepare some light and easy-to-digest midnight snacks and send them to my room."
Gu Xi ordered, and then naturally took Shen Xiangyang’s cold hand, “Follow me.”
Shen Xiangyang was led forward by Gu Xi.
The smooth marble floor reflects the sparkling crystal chandeliers, the air is filled with the fresh fragrance of flowers, and outside the huge floor-to-ceiling windows is the night view of the carefully maintained garden.
All this made Shen Xiangyang feel unreal. He subconsciously shrank his shoulders and his steps became a little shaky.
Gu Xi took him directly to the second floor and walked into his bedroom. The room was very large and the color tone was a calm gray-blue.
The bedroom is simply and comfortably decorated. The huge desk is piled with books and test papers, and there is a corner next to it with a basketball and dumbbells.
The air was filled with Gu Xi's familiar, clean and refreshing scent.
"Go take a hot bath first and warm yourself up."
Gu Xi let go of his hand, walked to the cloakroom, dug out a brand new set of pure cotton home clothes, as well as a clean towel and underwear, and stuffed them all into Shen Xiangyang's arms.
"The bathroom is inside. The tap to the left is hot water."
The corner of his eye noticed what was in Shen Xiangyang’s hand, he coughed twice, and explained somewhat unnaturally: “Don’t worry, these are new, no one has worn them.”
Shen Xiangyang held the stack of soft and clean clothes, his fingertips touching the delicate fabric, and the elegant fragrance of fabric softener lingered in his nostrils.
This strange and warm touch was a world of difference from the damp and moldy smell in the house just now.
He raised his head and looked at Gu Xi.
Gu Xi was also looking at him, his eyes gentle and firm, with silent encouragement.
"……Thanks."
Shen Xiangyang’s voice was dry and hoarse.
He held his clothes and walked into the bathroom that Gu Xi pointed to, somewhat awkwardly, like a lost child.
