Chapter 90

It was already the last day of the program recording. After waking up in the morning, the photographer routinely took a pack of instant noodles to find boiled water. The logistics officer got up late again today, sitting cross-legged beside the fire boiling water, with his eyes half closed, looking like he had not woken up yet.

It rained last night, dripping on the tent for more than two hours. The air was fresh in the early morning after the rain. A layer of fog was spreading over the sea. The morning sun was obscured by the fog, revealing only a faint outline. The sunlight could not penetrate the thick fog, but it dyed the other side a hazy light orange.

A gust of wind blew by, bringing a hint of coolness.

"It's been sunny for a week, can't you hold on a little longer on the last day?" the logistics staff complained quietly.

The photographer pointed at his eyes and said, "I don't know why my eyelids have been twitching since I woke up. Plus the weather has suddenly become abnormal. I think this is a sign of something to happen."

Another staff member nearby sneered, "The great guy you followed can turn wilderness survival into a seaside vacation, what's the problem? A person who only brought a backpack out has a better life than the rest of us, it's incredible. Look at the shots you took recently, the blue sky, white clouds, sea, beach, beauties, handsome guys, they can all be used as scenery promotional videos!"

Hearing this, the photographer glanced at Jing Ling who was grilling fish by the fire not far away and said enviously, "Three meals a day with meat, and occasionally a big lobster, it's like a god's life!"

"But then again, after this episode, our ratings will hit a new high, right? Just like the previous episode, both the ratings and the topic level have suddenly reached a whole new level."

"It's a sure thing. Apart from anything else, the incident between him and Yu Leyang is a good explosive point."

While we were chatting, the soup on the fire had already boiled. The photographer soaked the noodles, played a game of Candy Crush on his mobile phone, opened the lid and ate the noodles in a few gulps. He then took the cup and poured half a cup of hot soup, blew on it and drank it quickly, then went to change shifts.

Not long after he took over the camera, Jing Ling finished his breakfast, left the fire, went to the beach to enjoy the sea breeze for a while, then turned back and plunged into the woods. He got a lot of vines, which were thin and soft. He brought a big bundle back to the fire, sat down cross-legged, and began to weave the vines one by one with his slender and beautiful hands.

The photographer took pictures for a while, but I didn't know what he was doing.

The vines taken the first time were soon used up, so Jing Ling went to the forest again to replenish the materials. Finally, the braided fabric took shape, it was square, with a long vine left on the corners. It looked like a fishing net, but it was too big. He could catch fish with a harpoon or fish on a bamboo raft, so there was really no need for a fishing net.

After the weaving was completed, Jing Ling took his harpoon and jumped into his family's fish pond. This description was thought up by the program crew. After seeing his fishing skills, everyone agreed that this beach was really like his fish pond, where he could do whatever he wanted.

The photographer jumped into the water with his camera. The sea water is a little cold, probably because it rained last night. Following Jing Ling's movements, I emerged from the water, and the sea breeze blew in my face, giving me goose bumps on my skin where my clothes were tightly attached.

According to past practice, Jing Ling would only catch two or three fish at a time because he didn't like to waste fish or eat stale food, and he would always go hunting before mealtime. But today he not only hunted in advance, but also in far greater quantities than before. For no reason, the photographer felt that his eyelids twitching early in the morning was related to him.

The photographer felt that he had gone back and forth in the water dozens of times, and the basket that Jing Ling had personally woven to hold the fish was now full, and this fishing operation was finally over. When he followed Jing Ling to the shore, he looked at his back and wondered, could it be that the great god suddenly had a kind heart and caught so many fish to reward everyone who had worked hard for a week?

It turned out that he was overthinking.

Jing Ling left the camp with a basket of fish, a rattan net he had just woven in the morning, and his fishing rod, and walked around the woods covered with lush vegetation and vines to the beach where they had landed before. The bamboo raft that carried everyone across the sea had long been washed away by the waves, leaving only fine sand on the beach.

The photographer suddenly had a bold guess.

These fish are not meant to be eaten, but to be used as bait. Big fish eat small fish, small fish eat shrimps. According to this rule, the fish that can be caught with such a large bait can only be larger fish, such as... sharks.

You know, they had seen sharks here before when they were crossing the sea.

This speculation can be said to be well-founded.

And Jing Ling's behavior also confirmed this speculation. He put the things he brought on the beach near the sea and stood there observing the situation. This tidal channel between two islands is a favorite hunting ground for sharks, and following his line of sight, the photographer saw the fins sticking out of the water. A shark was swimming back and forth in the shallows looking for food. After swimming a few circles, it drifted away downstream.

The beach looked safe for now.

There were bamboos on the shore behind the beach. Jing Ling took a knife and cut down one, as well as a branch as thick as an arm. He cut the bamboo into several pieces, pointed the ends at an angle, stuck them on the beach, and then hit the upper end hard with a branch, driving it deeply into the sand, until only less than twenty centimeters of it was exposed outside. Do the same with the remaining pieces of bamboo. Finally, tie the vines left around the rattan net to the bamboo, and one end of the net will be fixed.

And this is just the beginning. After throwing the entire net into the sea, he sat down next to the bamboo stake, holding a knife in one hand and the fish in the other. After simply cleaning the fish scales, he hung the fish on the hook, threw it into the sea, and inserted the fishing rod into the bamboo stake.

The blood in the fish is washed by the sea water and mixed with the water, making it impossible to distinguish it with the naked eye. However, the shark's sense of smell is extremely sensitive and it can smell the blood from a long distance.

The bait has been set, and only sharks can take it.

There are also long vines left at the other two ends of the net, which are used to collect the net and wait for sharks to swim in.

The photographer felt terrible at the moment. He really wanted to ask Jing Ling if he was tired of eating grilled fish and wanted to change his taste? Are you thinking that a seaside vacation isn't cool enough, or that lobster isn't delicious enough? Are you ready to try fresh shark fin?

How can the gap between people be so big? !

Before he could figure out what was going on, he saw from afar a fish fin emerging from the water on the slightly surging sea, and swimming towards him.

The shark is coming!

The photographer felt that he was so nervous that his hands were shaking slightly and his palms were sweating, but Jing Ling, as the protagonist, remained calm and composed. The boy in the camera has a tall and straight figure, and when he bends down, his legs appear even longer. With the endless sea as the background and the green islands in the distance as embellishments, the boy's figure is in the picture, with a clear profile, a high nose bridge and long eyelashes, like an elf who has strayed into the human world.

If you think about it carefully, his name is also a prophecy, Jing Ling, Elf.

However, this young man, who was blessed by God and had exceptionally good looks, was doing cruel things that were completely different from his appearance.

The sharks in the deserted island waters had never seen human cunning and were attracted by the smell of blood. After patrolling the shallows several times, they swam into the vine net.

The photographer adjusted the lens and captured the shark eating. The scarlet mouth and the two rows of sharp teeth formed a sharp contrast. He bit the bait hanging on the fishing rod quickly and nimbly!

At the same time, Jing Ling, who had been acting somewhat nonchalant, suddenly took action. He grabbed a vine from the other end of the net with each hand, combined the two into one, and quickly closed the net, pulling it towards the shore.

His movements were noticed by the shark, which quickly turned around and tried to swim away. But it was too late, the way forward was blocked by vines. It wanted to turn around, but Jing Ling was always one step ahead of it. After doing this several times, all its escape routes were blocked and it was finally trapped in a vine net, unable to move. It was then dragged to the shore, its body just barely submerged in water, preventing it from dying from lack of water, but at the same time preventing it from escaping.

The entire fishing process only lasts a short time and looks simple, but in fact each step is very challenging and any mistake will result in all previous efforts being wasted. The photographer was standing by, sweating for Jing Ling, and the camera switched back and forth between the shark and him.

Finally catching the shark, Jing Ling tied the vines to the bamboo stakes on the shore, sat on the beach, panting, turned around to look at the photographer and gave him a smile.

The sunlight, which had been hiding for the whole morning, broke through the clouds at this moment. From a distance, it looked like the sky was broken by countless holes. The sunlight rushed out and formed beams of light.

“Have you ever played Fishing Master? There are all kinds of fish, big and small, and even turtles. Although the gold coins will continue to increase after catching them, there is not much sense of accomplishment. Only when a shark swims by will the interest be aroused, and after successfully catching it, there will be a huge sense of accomplishment in an instant.”

The photographer felt terrible after hearing this. It seemed like he had been following the shoot for almost a week, and everyone had guessed his thoughts wrong? ! Survival in the wild? Beach vacation? Neither, they are clearly playing the real-life version of Fishing Master! And he is a real fishing master!

Afterwards, Jing Ling filmed a commemorative video with the shark and released it.

The photographer watched the shark swimming away in panic and wondered if this poor little creature would suffer any psychological trauma. But it is said that fish only have a memory of a few seconds, and sharks are also fish, so even if it is really scared, it will forget it quickly?

While thinking about these irrelevant things, he did not forget his job. He switched the lens, adjusted the focus, and continued shooting.

After that, Jing Ling was seen catching sharks, taking photos, and releasing them. They didn't stop until all the bait in the basket was used up. After releasing the last shark caught with bait, he stood on the beach, looking into the distance, leaving the photographer with a back view and a few words, "Sharks don't really like to eat people, but people like to eat them, just for enjoyment, not for survival."
