Chapter 1 Rebirth

"Screams and roars filled her ears. Xia He's clothes were torn to shreds from the constant pulling and tugging. A sharp pain shot through her limbs, followed by numbness. Not far away, Xia He saw Tang Yuan being hacked and dismembered by a group of people wielding sticks and knives. She couldn't move an inch. Looking down, she saw her legs crushed into a bloody pulp, and Tang Yuan, as Xia He's vision gradually turned red, became a scattered skeleton..."

"No! Tangyuan! No! Ah!!!" "Ah!!!" With a terrified scream, Xia He woke up from her dream. Tangyuan was sleeping comfortably next to Xia He's pillow, having a wonderful dream about having a pile of big bones, when she was startled awake by Xia He's scream. Tangyuan was so angry that she slapped Xia He's face with her paw.

"Ouch!" What? Ouch? Xia He thought, "Wasn't I trampled to death in the apocalypse, and Tangyuan was eaten by others?"

What's going on here? Xia He was so shocked that she slapped herself a few more times, then looked around and realized, where is this?

Isn't this my room before the apocalypse? Pink wallpaper, pink pillows and blankets, the familiar furnishings, and the questioning look from Tangyuan beside her pillow—Xia He habitually picked up her phone from beside her pillow and checked the time.

At 9:27 AM on May 8, 2035, wasn't this one month before the apocalypse? "Great, Tangyuan, you're still alive!" Xia He excitedly picked up Tangyuan and showered him with kisses, holding him close and rubbing him repeatedly before starting to sob.

"Waaaaah, Tangyuan, I watched you being eaten by others, but I couldn't do anything about it, waaaaah." Tangyuan sensed the meal ticket's sadness, licked Xiahe's face, and gestured for her not to cry, that Tangyuan was still there!

Xia He glanced at the time again and confirmed that there were still two months until the start of the apocalypse, which was July 8th. The apocalypse would officially begin then!

Thinking of this, Xia He raised the jade safety buckle on her right hand. Xia He didn't know the origin of this safety buckle. She grew up in an orphanage and only knew that she had always had this safety buckle on her hand since she could remember.

Xia He found a fruit knife, quickly poked a hole in her finger, and dripped blood onto the safety amulet. As expected, with a flash of white light, the safety amulet disappeared from her hand! Then another flash of white light appeared, and a boundless space appeared in Xia He's consciousness!

This space was triggered when Xia He's blood dripped onto the safety buckle during an outing to find food after the apocalypse began!

Xia He found a small biscuit in a bag that had turned to crumbs. She was about to put it in her pocket to take back and share it with Tangyuan when she felt a sharp pain in her back. A man with a large machete kicked her and demanded that she hand over the biscuit.

During her resistance, Xia He was slashed by the man, and the slash landed squarely on her face.

Under the overwhelming force of her power, Xia He was left with a gruesome scar that ran from her scalp to her chin. It was precisely because of this scar that Xia He, a woman, was spared much harm in the cannibalistic world of the apocalypse…

The entire space was gray and hazy, and at a glance, you couldn't see where the edge of the space was. In the center of the space, there was a small pool with only a few drops of water in it.

But in his past life, he saved Tangyuan with just this little bit of water! At that time, Tangyuan was so hot from the sun after the apocalypse that he fainted, but there was no clean water source or cool place to give him first aid.

Tangyuan is a Bichon Frise. Its white fur has turned blackish-gray due to the apocalypse, and its fur has been shaved down to just a thin layer. Its once round and chubby head has become bald. But despite this, the pet dog still couldn't withstand the extreme weather of the apocalypse.

Under the circumstances, Xia He had no choice but to try the unknown water source in the space, just to see if it would work. She watched as Tang Yuan's already dwindling breaths gradually became heavy. After that, Xia He never saw any water in the pool in the space again.
