Xia He hasn't left her room for the past few days, immersing herself in her cultivation. With the blessing of the Spirit-Stabilizing Grass, her spiritual power level has successfully increased by 1 level in the past few days, and she is now a Level 2 Fifth-Order Spirit King.
If we calculate the current superpower levels of Tangyuan and Panda based on spiritual power, they are probably around level 3.
After recovering from her cultivation, Xia He, as always, first fed the two little ones, then ate a little herself, and went to knock on Dr. Qian and Li Chunhua's door to fill their refrigerators with supplies. Considering the current water resources situation, she also left them two large buckets filled with water, the kind with taps underneath that they could use directly.
Then she took the two little ones to the base office to find Xiao Lin. During these few days of training, Xia He hadn't had a chance to tell Xiao Lin about Xiao Hua.
After finding Xiao Lin, Xia He told him about Xiao Hua's situation. Xiao Lin said, "It's alright. Xiao Hua's spiritual energy was depleted because she transferred it to you that day. Xiao Hua is spiritual energy, and her original body is not in this world, so she is indeed a little lacking in spiritual energy. However, if you work hard to cultivate your spiritual energy and transfer some of it to your space, Xiao Hua will wake up faster."
As the two were engaged in a heated discussion, outside the defensive wall, zombies surged forth like a tidal wave, their sheer numbers overwhelming. Some zombies were missing arms and staggered; others had mutated limbs and deformed physical structures. Groups of zombies gathered near the defensive wall, emitting low groans, as if making some kind of tacit call to the wall.
Their eyes were dark and empty, showing no fear of the defensive wall ahead. Some of the zombies still bore traces of blood, proof that they had found prey within the base.
The lights on the defensive wall illuminated the night, casting eerie shadows on the zombies' bodies. The zombies would sometimes lunge at the wall, and sometimes linger around it, as if testing its strength.
The groans in the distance grew more intense, like a pack of hungry beasts trying to break through the final barrier and enter the base.
"Base Commander! It looks like a zombie horde is coming!" A patrolling soldier rushed into the office anxiously, his face full of panic and tension.
Xiao Lin and Xia He immediately stood up, their expressions solemn.
“These zombies haven’t made any large-scale moves in the past few days, but now they’ve suddenly attacked. We can’t underestimate them!” Xiao Lin said to Xia He with a solemn expression.
"We're on our way! Command center, be on high alert and prepare to face the zombie horde!" Xiao Lin decisively issued the order. They needed to stabilize the defenses and ensure the safety of the base.
As the alarm sounded, everyone in the base immediately went into emergency mode. Soldiers quickly adjusted their positions, and those with superpowers rallied on the defensive walls, preparing to meet the onslaught of the horde of zombies.
The lights shone on the horde of zombies, illuminating their distorted forms. Some zombies had fingers like sharp blades, some had deep, empty eyes, and some still had tattered clothes hanging from their bodies, as if they were patches sewn together by death.
The cries of the zombies grew more intense, as if resonating, filling the area in front of the defensive wall with a chilling atmosphere. The terror of the night and the oppressive presence of the zombies made everyone in the base feel the shadow of death.
Xia He gripped the Green Dragon Crescent Blade tightly, with the two little ones nestled beside her. The two had never participated in combat before, and this was their first time facing zombies directly. Xia He led the two little ones to stand on the defensive wall, looking down at the zombies below. Hundreds of zombies swarmed over, their outstretched arms like hungry tentacles, and their open mouths revealing sharp teeth, emitting terrifying growls, like the groans emanating from the throats of hell.
The two little ones sensed those empty and fierce eyes, as if the zombies were conveying the message of death in their low growls.
However, there was no fear on the faces of the two little ones; instead, there was determination and resolve.
The soldiers picked up their weapons and opened fire on the zombies beneath their feet, while the superhumans unleashed their abilities, each strike a precise headshot. Suddenly! A zombie climbed the defensive wall, and the remaining zombies followed suit, stepping on the corpses of their companions and frantically climbing upwards.
"These zombies seem to have evolved?" Xia He asked.
“It does seem like it has evolved; the situation is getting worse,” Xiao Lin replied.
The zombie growled and waved its arms, preparing to attack the soldiers.
The narrow defensive wall instantly became a battlefield for a life-or-death struggle.
They gripped the edge of the defensive wall with their sharp teeth, then climbed it alternately with their mutated arms, as if scaling a mountain. The zombies' claws dug deep into the cracks in the wall, their teeth embedded in the metal blocks, as if the craftsmen of death were creating a horrifying painting.
The zombie that climbed to the top of the wall revealed a distorted face, its dark eye sockets devoid of any light, and it let out a low growl, as if announcing the arrival of death. The rest of the zombies followed closely behind, swarming up, ignoring the corpses of their companions, desperately climbing over the defensive wall, trying to enter the base.
The corpses piled up on the wall to form a terrifying tower. Some of the zombies were torn apart because they climbed too fiercely, and their blood, like ink, painted a magnificent picture on the wall.
Xia He frowned slightly as she wielded her Green Dragon Crescent Blade, relentlessly slashing at the zombies that tried to climb up.
The scene of zombies climbing was like a hallucination from a nightmare, with blood and death intertwined on the walls, as if the gates of hell had been opened and immortal things were pouring out from them.
As the number of zombies on the defensive wall increased, their low growls formed a symphony of death, chilling to the bone. The zombies' arms frantically climbed, each step dragging down the corpses on the wall, flesh and blood flying, limbs twisting, turning the wall into a deathly spectacle.
