"Are you alright?" Xiao Lin carefully examined Xia He's body.
"This place is too eerie. It seems like there are still many things we don't know about," Xia He said.
“Indeed, let’s get out of here quickly!” Xiao Lin said. As soon as the two stepped out of the so-called Room 2, they were suddenly bound by vines. No matter how much they struggled, they could not escape.
"Hahahaha, brilliant! Truly brilliant!" The two stood there and saw a man who looked exactly like the mysterious man from before. The man was laughing and clapping, as if he were watching some exciting story.
Xia He and Xiao Lin exchanged a glance, their brows furrowing slightly. They realized the situation was not simple. The vines tightened their grip, rendering them unable to move.
"You are truly outstanding test subjects, actually managing to defeat my test subjects." The man's smile became even more cunning, his eyes filled with fanaticism.
Xia He gritted her teeth, her eyes filled with disdain. "As expected, only a pervert would use himself as a test subject! You are truly the epitome of a pervert!"
Hearing Xia He's sarcasm, the mysterious man's smile widened, as if Xia He's words had ignited some kind of excitement. "It is precisely because I possess a unique perspective that I can see the infinite possibilities hidden within you. You will become a breathtaking spectacle of life and plants merging together."
As he spoke, he waved his hand, and the surrounding plant vines grew rapidly, fixing Xia He and Xiao Lin in place. No matter how much they struggled, they could not break free from the powerful plant restraints.
"Your resistance is futile. Let me transform you! Beautiful human bodies!" The mysterious man laughed even more maniacally.
"Keep dreaming!" Xia He said through gritted teeth.
As she spoke, Xia He rapidly gathered her spiritual energy, gritting her teeth in defiance. She let out a sharp shout, and her spiritual energy surged violently, gradually rebounding despite the plant's restraints. A powerful aura emanated from her, forming a protective barrier.
Xiao Lin was not to be outdone; he radiated bright spiritual energy as he tried to resist the plant's bindings. Their combined efforts loosened the bindings slightly, but they still couldn't completely break free.
Seeing that the two still had the strength to resist, the mysterious man's excitement intensified. He stretched out his hand, strange light emanating from his fingertips, and pointed at Xia He and Xiao Lin's bodies.
In that very instant!
Xia He instantly returned to her spatial dimension!
The mysterious man watched Xia He disappear before his eyes, a moment of panic flashing in his eyes, which then turned into excited fervor!
As Xia He returned to her spatial dimension, Xiao Lin performed a similar action, disappearing from the mysterious man's sight. The mysterious man stared at their vanishing figures, frozen in place for a moment, before erupting in fury.
"How could it disappear right before my eyes! What kind of method is this?" The mysterious man's voice was filled with anger and resentment.
Just as he was enraged, a figure suddenly appeared beside him. It was Xia He! She had reappeared in front of the mysterious man, her eyes flashing with a sharp light.
"Is this all you've got?" Xia He sneered, suddenly swinging her Green Dragon Crescent Blade, the blade flashing.
The mysterious man hurriedly dodged, but Xia He quickly gave chase. Xia He's speed was so fast that the mysterious man was somewhat overwhelmed; every swing of her knife carried a sharp and fierce aura.
"Do you think you can escape? Escape is only temporary. In the end, you will still become my test subjects!" the mysterious man roared, and the plant patterns on his body spread rapidly, forming a solid protective barrier.
Xia He coldly observed the mysterious man's protective gear, showing no fear whatsoever. Instead, she smiled. "Do you think this can stop us?"
Xia He formed hand seals, her spiritual energy surging. Suddenly, a powerful flame surged from her body, and a fire dragon condensed around her, instantly attacking the mysterious man.
Although the mysterious man had strong plant protection, his defenses began to crumble in the face of Xia He's attack. The fire dragon's flames instantly burned away part of the plant protection, and Xia He followed closely behind, wielding her Green Dragon Crescent Blade. The sharp blade light sliced through the air, heading straight for the mysterious man's vitals.
The mysterious man hurriedly dodged, but Xia He and Xiao Lin's seamless teamwork made it almost impossible for him to escape. Xia He and Xiao Lin moved through the laboratory, skillfully avoiding the attacks of the plants while launching fierce offensives.
"You think these little tricks can defeat me?" The mysterious man sneered, his plant energy erupting once more, forming an impenetrable defensive line. However, his expression gradually turned fanatical, as if he were immersed in a strange excitement.
Then, to Xia He and Xiao Lin's astonishment, the mysterious man transformed into plant vines, then burrowed into the ground and vanished without a trace!
"Oh no, he got away!" Xiao Lin exclaimed.
Xia He frowned deeply, a hint of worry in her eyes. "His mutation ability is too peculiar. We have to be careful; he could reappear anywhere."
“He can’t beat us, so he probably won’t be coming for the time being!” Xiao Lin said.
However, Xia He said, "If you don't cut the weeds at the root, they will grow back in the spring breeze. We must be careful from now on."
The two continued their search inside the research institute. Last time they came, Xia He and Xiao Lin hadn't had a chance to properly search the place because they were surrounded by zombies. This time, fearing that something unexpected might happen again, Xia He and Xiao Lin stored all the data they could find in the research institute into their spatial storage and took it all back to Professor Fu for his research.
The two split up, and just as Xia He found an experimental room, she suddenly discovered that there was another living person inside!
