So Xiao Lin simply found a tattered coat in his spatial storage and put it on. Then he took off his glasses, smeared some charcoal ash on his face, messed up his hair, and mingled in the crowd.
Surprisingly, no one questioned Xiao Lin's identity along the way.
It seems the security here isn't very strict; it looks like anyone can get in.
It seems we shouldn't have taken down those two security guards downstairs!
When Xiao Lin arrived on the 5th floor, he tried to enter the fire escape door, but was stopped by someone.
"Hey kid, new here? You look unfamiliar."
"Want to come in? Didn't anyone tell you the rules?"
Xiao Lin looked at the two slovenly thugs at the door, wearing thick cotton-padded coats and with yellow teeth, and patiently said, "Brothers, I'm new here and don't know the rules. May I ask what's inside? I'd like to go in and broaden my horizons."
As he spoke, he took out two cigarettes from his pocket and handed them to the two hooligans.
One of the tall, thugs said, "You're up to the game, you know the rules. You want to go in? Looking at your small frame, you'd probably get slaughtered like a lamb."
Xiao Lin continued, "What do you mean by that?"
As he spoke, he took out two more cigarettes and handed them over.
"Only official members of our base can enter from the 5th floor upwards. What, didn't the person who brought you into the base tell you what it takes to become a core member?"
Xiao Lin rubbed his hands together and said awkwardly, "To be honest, I sneaked in here, so I don't know the rules. I hope you two can give me some guidance."
He then took out his last two cigarettes, saying, "These are the last two cigarettes I have. I'm really out of stock."
The two scoundrels didn't seem very bright, and Xiao Lin easily tricked them into confessing everything after just a couple of sentences.
"Alright, seeing that you're too scared to do anything, we'll show you around!"
As they spoke, one of them quietly opened the door a crack and said to Xiao Lin, "See? If we get into the base, we can eat sheep all the time. The taste will be absolutely amazing!"
Xiao Lin peered through the crack, but he couldn't see very clearly; he could only vaguely make out a shadow. However, through the crack, he heard sounds coming from inside.
"The lamb is freshly roasted today, it was just frozen, it's still incredibly fresh! Anyone want this thigh meat? And this shank too!"
Below, a group of people were waving their hands wildly, as if they had seen some divine delicacy.
On the table were the robbers that Xiao Lin and his group had killed that day!
"Don't rush! We have plenty of stock today! Right now, it's frozen sheep! But the grand finale later will be live sheep!"
Upon hearing this, everyone was overjoyed! They were so excited that they danced around. Looking at them, Xiao Lin felt as if he were seeing crazy gamblers before the apocalypse.
Just as Xiao Lin was listening to what was happening inside, the door was closed.
"Kid! If you want to go in and eat mutton, you have to catch some mutton as a contribution first! And you have to join the Sheep Cult to become a formal member of our cult! Everyone in the Sheep Cult can eat mutton! It tastes so good and delicious."
Looking at the scene before him, Xiao Lin thought, "What kind of people are these? They can talk about cannibalism so openly? And they call themselves the Sheep Cult? I'm the Big Bad Wolf!"
However, he showed no sign of it on his face. "Then tell me, how do I catch the sheep? And how do I hand it over after I've caught it?"
The hoodlum at the door looked at Xiao Lin and then shouted, "Hahahaha, you kid, you're probably not here to join the cult on purpose!"
