Chapter 40: Catching the Mistress Leads to the Brother-in-Law's Arrest
Inside the new store, the dust from construction had not completely dissipated, and several workers were doing the final cleaning.
Ruan Yao held a tablet and carefully checked each item on the list, occasionally directing the workers to adjust the position of the decorations.
She walked to a wall where several newly opened brand-customized aromatherapy gift boxes were piled up in the corner, ready to be placed on the display shelf.
Ruan Yao bent down, intending to lift the rather tall stack of gift boxes all at once.
She underestimated the weight of the gift boxes. As soon as she exerted force, the two top boxes lost their balance and wobbled to the side.
"ah!"
Ruan Yao exclaimed in surprise and instinctively tried to reach out to grab it, but it was too late.
Just as the box was about to fall to the ground, a large, well-defined hand reached out from the side and steadily caught the gift box before it fell.
